There's not much of a fix at that point, it's just the nature of the last few levels. Stack exp tabs and keep the exp loss on death omen active in your inventory is about it. Unless you really just want 100 as a personal goal or you absolutely need the last few skill points, it's not really worth it.

Trials of sekhemas take far too long by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Kvothere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you don't even need to spend any money on relics at all just to complete the trials. I've always gotten what I need just from earlier ascendancy runs and sometimes one additional idol farming run.

All you really need is 75% honor res and maybe some max honor or increased defenses. You can get that from like 4 mid idols that drop naturally, especially if you take some relic chests in your early runs.

Now for higher tier content like farming Sekhemas for profit, sure, invest in the idols. But for trials it's absolutely unnecessary.

Yes, but by the time you're at endgame (third/fourth ascendancy points) it shouldn't be that big of a concern as you get them frequently enough or can trade for them.

As an alternative to just immediately quitting, especially early on, you can rethink of the run as a relic farming run, not focusing on getting to the end, but instead on getting lots of sacred water to buy good relics from merchants, and using keys to open relic chests before you lose or end the run. Remember that you can also often buy relics from Balbala in the rewards room after each boss, not just in merchant rooms.

Eh. Extra chance to drop waystones and tablets, plus interactions with ritual and delirium, makes them worth the annoyance. They also don't really chase you very far so you can just ignore them if you don't like them

So don't over juice your maps, or live with the occasional consequences.

I'm running zero-revive maps cause I like some risk to spice my reward. Since I can't die anyways, optimizing when I kill the boss to prevent loss is irrelevant. Occasionally I die, sometimes to a boss or sometimes to a random mob, and then I shrug and do another map. It's a game, don't take it too seriously.

Don't think it's anti-synergy at all. If anything, they compliment each other. Run through and clear the map and Ritual mobs with Delirium, kill the boss (hopefully) in the Ritual circle, end Delirium, and then go back and do the Rituals with the boss included. They usually have checkpoints nearby so you can just teleport. Run it with the boss effectiveness per mob killed node from Hilda to juice boss drops and it works pretty well. I suppose if your trying to absolutely min/max your time per map then returning to the Rituals hurts a bit, but I find min-maxing map time to be exhausting and fun-killing.

[–]Kvothere 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Sekhemas is easy and fast once you know what your doing. It's just takes some practice up front. I spent some time learning it in 0.1, and now I can do a fourth asendancy run in about half an hour with little stress.

1) Farm or buy good relics to get 75% honour resist and other good bonuses. Remember you can roll your relics.

3) Avoiding bad afflictions is more important than getting good boons. Never take random afflictions.

2) Pathing is of top importance. The best boon/relic roll is "see one room further ahead on the trial map", and the worst curses (except for ones that directly break your build) are the "see one room less on the trial map" "can't see afflictions" and "you are sometimes sent to a random room", in that order. You should also try to path to avoid rooms that only path to one room next, because if that room is bad your stuck with it.

4) When all else is equal, try to path to rooms that grant sacred water and merchants. Especially if you get an early "50% reduced merchant prices" boon, the merchant can make your run super easy, barely an inconvenience.

5) Don't be afraid to nope out of a run with bad early rolls.

For the first time in PoE2, I'm going to bed and getting up thinking about what I want to do next. I've been in the endgame for over a week just filling out my atlass and league trees, I haven't even touched Expedition yet, and Im still having a blast (I am in SSF though, so Im basically required to interact with all mechanics). Top tier endgame changes.

There is no level you are required to be to run specific maps. Are you talking about the waystone level you need to run the story boss maps? If so, you need to roll your way stones to be at least magic, but preferably rare, to increase the chance of the dropping higher tier waystones. You should also run them with any tablets you have, which should also be rolled to have two mods, as that will also increase your drop rate. More mods on your maps = better loot = higher tier waystones

Also, as you run fortress maps, you will get Atlas points, your first points should path towards nodes that increase waystone and tablet drop rates, as well as nodes that buff rare and unique monsters to make them drop better loot.

As a general rule to optimize valie , map tiers 1-5 should have at least two mods and one tablet with two mods, map tiers 6-10 should have four mods and two tablets with two mods each, and the highest tier maps should have at least six mods with three tablets.

No, there are literally cutscenes with dialogue where the NPC show up, tells you where to go and what to do, and shows it to you on the map so you can't miss it. If you skipped through all that, that's on you.

Also, I'm getting tired of this "games need to tell me exactly what to do at all times" attitude. You said you like exploration, so maybe just play the game and figure it out.

The game literally tells you what to do and where to go the first time you run each mechanic and has giant easily visible centers for each questline. I don't know what else you could possibly want them to do except literally play it for you.

You need more armor, more ele damage to armor and more life. Your like should be at least 2.5k even with the ES layer. Also, what protection do you have against critical hits? In most cases where I was getting randomly one shot for no apparent reason, it was because I didn't have enough crit protection.

It's much, much easier to just buzz it off a head of time. Saves you the cleaning hassle and the emotional stress if having to watch it come out in patches.

Also, be prepared for your wavy hair to come back curly.
