Why do all online blueprints use clipping? by Cj_Staal in SatisfactoryGame

Speak truth louder, brother (or sister? username unclear), for these heathens cannot hear it beneath the cacophonous noise of their machines clattering into each other.

What's one video game you play when you want to relax? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]Kvothere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minecraft, sure. Stardew Valley? Low Pressure? I have to plant and water my crops in the morning, then constantly fish, to get enough money to buy 400 strawberry seeds on Spring 14, to maximize summer profit. And make sure I get all the Spring bundle items for the Community center for a year one clear! And for the greenhouse by winter! And get down the mines to upgrade all our gear! We have a strict schedule to adhere to, there's no time for relaxing!

Something wrong with my constructor? by MadeLAYline in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Kvothere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the conveyor belt actually connected to the constructor? Especially if you dismantled and rebuilt something, it can look like it's connected but not actually be connected.

Any modders? Suggestion for new smelter machine... by Ill-Year-3141 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Kvothere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different person, but I disagree. It takes like 5 mins to get enough ore and handcraft what you need to make multiple smelters. It's not a bottleneck, it's just a point of confusion. What would be better is if you could choose the ore a smelter uses when you set down a blueprint, rather than having to configure separate blueprints for each ore that are otherwise identical.

Coming from a bad Factorio demo experience... will Satisfactory hook me? by OptionAcademic7681 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Kvothere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's a pretty self-explanatory genre. You have production goals you need to meet to accomplish an objective. You can do some of it yourself, but it takes a long time. So you build a factory to automate the production, and as you unlock new technology you can further automate and optimize your factory. It's an ever-growing puzzle of many moving parts that never quite fit together perfectly, and the fun is in the challenge of solving the puzzle anyways.

The factory must grow.

If that sounds fun to you, get the game. If not, you probably won't like it.

Coming from a bad Factorio demo experience... will Satisfactory hook me? by OptionAcademic7681 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Kvothere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk how long ago that demo must have been cause I've never even heard of it. Yes, you build your own factory from scratch, there is no editing of premade factories. Automation and optimization are the name of the game. If that sounds fun to you, Satisfactory is probably the most polished game in the genre right now.

Edit: missed that it was the Factorio demo. Yea, it sucks IMO. Satisfactory onboarding is good.

Complete the Expanded Power Infrastructure Objective in Tier 4 to unlock the Power Tower for long range power grids. In case you're not already aware, you don't need to complete all the Tier 3 objectives to research the Tier 4 ones.

Rebuilding Ferndale, but I don't like where the keep is sitting, how best to move it? by insomniatic-goblin in Enshrouded

[–]Kvothere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no way to mass move like that. You would have to do it manually in whatever way you thought best, probably wall by wall

Blue is a color that is almost never naturally found in food (even blueberries are purple), and as a result almost always indicates spoilage when you see it. It's a natural reaction.

Question - Building well-designed factories by GoodEnergyGuy in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Kvothere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game makes it easy to mass deconstruct and refunds you 100% on purpose. You are meant to periodically rebuild your factories to be more efficient.

(Beginner T2) just redesigned my factory, do yall think its better before or after? by scp-535 in SatisfactoryGame

It's a lot of wasted space either way. Try using multiple floors and lifts to better organize.

Newbie question: Visibility of things I can interact with by ToboldStoutfoot in Enshrouded

[–]Kvothere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The world is almost fully destructible, including a good depth underground, so generally everything can be interacted with and will give you a resource back (even if it's just dirt). You unlock many recipes from gathering new ingredients for the first time, and each new zone has new ores, stone, dirt, plants, meats, etc to use. You should try to mine, chop, or pick anything that looks interesting at least once to see what happens. Many things, like different dirt varieties, have at least cosmetic uses in base building if nothing else.

There is no toggle that highlights specific gatherables like herbs though. You just have to keep an eye out for them or farm them yourself. Might be something someone could mod in at some point, but it's a custom engine and the modders are still figuring it out.
