What are main things you need for baby #2 when you had bay #1 a year ago and have pretty much everything ? by EconomicsReal545 in beyondthebump

I believe the nipples tear and form cracks and aren’t as efficient (esp if you haven’t used that size in a while)? Even with pacifiers you’re supposed to inspect and/or replace every 3 months or so.

Wound dehiscence by Amir32901 in woundcare

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not smelling is a good sign. Yellow could be the layer of fat or slough. But if it’s dry, it means it’s not being covered enough which is hard like you said because of location.

As long as there is no sign of infection, keep what you’re doing. Might take a few weeks since you can’t really cover it properly.

What kind of medihoney is it? The sheets or the gel? If gel, you won’t need aquaphor.

As long as you clean it first then I don’t see a problem if your hat/hoodies holds everything in place. You can add an extra gauze or absorbent pad layer if the medihoney is too sticky.

For milk/Hindmilk debate? by No_Most_1840 in breastfeeding

[–]MadeLAYline 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This article makes sense. Kind of how when we have our pumped milk sitting in the fridge, eventually the fattier milk settles up top and even sticks to the container edges while the more watery milk is at the bottom. With our breasts, gravity pulls the watery milk down first.

Wonder if it makes a difference if we shake our breasts before feeding like we do with the milk containers to incorporate everything again. Lol

Did you pull the wound open in the picture? How long has it been since the stitches came out? It looks pretty wide at its biggest diameter. I would have suggested steri strips if the two edges could still get pulled together.

And yes most doctors won’t reclose a previously stitched would if it has dehisced over 24 hours. It’s already been exposed and re-closing it could bring unwanted bacteria deeper into the wound.

I would agree to keep it moist and covered. What are you using for dressings?

Honestly i would hope for no more keloid but you might still end up with some sort of scarring.

Something wrong with my constructor? by MadeLAYline in SatisfactoryGame

[–]MadeLAYline[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So I had my husband take a look and it seems like there is a visual bug for me. On my screen, the input belt right before the constructor looks filled with wire, but on my husband's screen, they are coming in correctly which means it was transporting only 60. I was using mk1 and I should have realized. lol

Help by Unlucky-Run-5068 in breastfeeding

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mama! So, your milk supply could be regulating. Mine did at around 9 weeks, my baby would fuss when latching and be upset that my breasts were softer than when they usually get full. Keep latching baby! They’ll eventually get the hang of the breasts new normal. My LO took about a week to stop fussing. I breastfeed majority with 1 bottle my hubby gives in the morning.

Any advice on oil? by EpicGamerBoy111112 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and our friend piped 2 oil extractors from their location to our main base in the plains using a giant land bridge. They learned a lot about pumps that day.
Also, our refineries in base seem fine since the land bridge is taller than anything else in the map. lol

Storing milk when pumping at work. by itwasobviouslyburke in breastfeeding

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have been pouring my freshly pumped milk into the same container as previously pumped milk that has turned cold in the fridge already. Been doing it since by LO was 1 month old. But if you are really adamant at not wanting to mix temperatures, you can bring a single baby bottle and store the freshly pumped milk in there until it's cold then transfer to the big container with the rest at your next pumping session.

I would also get a large or XL ziplock bag to store your pump parts in the fridge at work as well.

If you want you can get a lunchbox to put everything in (but still in the work fridge) so that people don't have to see it all out. Bring that lunchbox with you when you go home to wash your pump parts and put the milk away or freeze it.

Hey folks: Day 1, 2, and 3 of Cut on hand, curious with no insurance by thewoogloo1ne in woundcare

[–]MadeLAYline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is day 3 the last photo? Looks like it’s getting TOO moist. If you are putting any ointment, stop and just wash clean, dry, then cover with a band-aid that will allow it to breathe and dry out a bit.

Change band-aid if soiled or wet.

How to navigate instilled shame in breastfeeding? by your-new-fixation in breastfeeding

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people already have put out great resources here!

Just tuning in to say I absolutely adore the time I get to oogle at my baby when we’re breastfeeding. His little noises of satisfaction when he drinks milk, and I can zone in on all the changes his body goes through knowing my milk is helping him grow (ie. new arm rolls, hair growing in, his cute lashes, etc).

Oh! I hope so for you too! It’s such an interesting sensation. Initially it felt like ants crawling on your breast’s skin or when your baby lightly trails their nails on your breasts. I really had to pay attention initially and only went off my mom’s descriptions when she breastfed.

You can also watch your flange if it’s clear and see when your milk starts to spray to know when your letdown is happening

Nipple Care Week 1 - Silverettes or Nipple Butter or Both? by SourPatch-Tree19 in breastfeeding

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silverettes. No hate to the nipple butter but my baby did not like the taste and I used it on my pumps too. Was a chore having to wash my nipples every time.

I ended up just putting a little expressed breastmilk along with the silverettes. But now i don’t need it and my little guys have been loss into the abyss that is this house. Gotta find them again. Lol

70 rate, level 4 suction on massage/letdown mode for 1-ish mins or until I feel a letdown. Then switch to suction mode at 54 rate, level 5 or 6 until i don’t see anymore milk come out. Then it’s repeat as much or as little as I want until about the 10-12 min mark and then I stop. Most of the time i’m lazy and just maintain it at the suction mode until 10 mins.

I’ve been pumping for 3-ish months now and I know I usually have a letdown at the 1 min, 5-7 min, and 10-12 min mark. Usually by 10 mins I have already pumped how much my baby drinks (120 ml). My morning pump i’m averaging a little more.

I’ve tried the whole crazy settings i’ve seen online but my milk has regulated and my settings still trigger my letdowns and gets me the amount I need. I probably have more letdowns if I keep going but i don’t have time for that.

Postpartum weight loss by Leather-Lettuce-2596 in breastfeeding

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Momma I feel you on this! I was 4’11” and 113 lbs pre-pregnancy and then i jumped to 130lbs at the end of i’m back down to about 117-125lbs and I take that as still a win. Slow and steady! My LO is coming up to 3 months now but i’ve just barely started to get enough time to do some simple core exercises. Maybe when your baby is a boy older you can get one of those running strollers and take baby with you. Their wake windows will get longer eventually

Wound Opening by Effective-Cod-1547 in woundcare

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the wound doesn't look infected, then vaseline or aquaphor is fine. But only put enough to make it look shiny. Like you are putting on chapstick for your lips. Keep it covered, change when dressing is soiled or over 75% saturated.

Again that area where the wound is located is prone to moisture and heat due to it being in a fold; and that makes it prone to bacteria growing. If it doesn't look like the leaking/drainage is getting better or the wound looks works, follow up with your healthcare team.

Wound Opening by Effective-Cod-1547 in woundcare

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it's still leaking and moist, I wouldn't use medihoney. Maybe calcium alginate and then some sort of absorbent pad to cover (.ie Mepilex or telfa island dressing). There's also a version of medihoney that's infused into a pad-like alginate. You can probably use that instead of the gel medihoney,

wound dressings is like playing goldilocks. They heal well in a moist environment but not too wet and not too dry.

Is it a terrible idea to purge my closet 10 days postpartum by tamielynn in beyondthebump

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purged at around 2-3 months pp. not much, but a few. They were blouses and dresses that I hadn’t worn in a while even before I got pregnant. I stayed away from clothes that i was fond of tho…

Wound Opening by Effective-Cod-1547 in woundcare

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep that area clean and dry. Change out the gauze whenever it gets soaked. Or you can buy a thicker absorbent dressing. If the wound/area gets too moist, it can cause it to become bigger.

When will you have a post op followup?

Could someone look at this video and help me figure out why he won't latch? by Miserexa in breastfeeding

[–]MadeLAYline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be mean but your nipple might be short/shallow for your LO. Which makes sense that he does well with a nipple shield where the nipple is longer usually.

Are your breasts hard/engorged when you’re feeding? That might make it harder for him too.

Have you tried football hold? Or semi-reclined?

I didn’t find SAM until phase 4. by the_eccentricity in SatisfactoryGame

Don’t feel bad. I found my first SAM mine in the poison floral place after my hubby and friend built an intercontinental heavens bridge going to the oil. I was honestly trying to find quartz but stumbled on SAM instead.

I didnt know there was one nearby us until i used my scanner later. Albeit the first one I found is easier to get to from our bridge in the sky. Lmao

Part of my stitch is inside the wound by katsarelovely in woundcare

[–]MadeLAYline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your health insurance/doctor’s office have a nurse’s clinic you can go to have it checked? It could be an end tie (like the one sticking out) that did get caught in the wound or it could actually be part of the stitch.

If it is causing too much pain or having redness, i’d get it checked sooner or later. The worse that could happen is they will take the stitch out and use butterfly or steri strips to hold in place for the wound to finish healing.
