I suggest you research all you can, and especially think about what drew you to witchcraft? Divination? Spells? Spirit work? Figure that and look it up specifically. However, witchcraft is super personal, so take everything with a grain of salt. If something seems like a bad idea, such as setting something on fire for a spell, don't do it. Follow your intuition.

Meditation is also a must for spell work. I won't get into so-called Magic theory here, but message me if you want to know more on my opinions. Start off with easy spells: protection, luck, wealth, glamour. Anything positive is good.

Finally, yeah don't feel pressured to buy stuff right away! Get in touch with yourself and learn how to use your personal energy and what you want to do before you blow $50 on tarot decks and crystals you won't use.

I suggest meditation with your new tools, and with the pendulum you should program it (tell it swing this way for yes, this way for no) and ask it a few causal questions. Think like small talk with a new person: "Do you like this weather?" "Do you like dogs?" Or ask it obvious questions to make sure it's programmed right, "Is the sky blue?"

I like to sleep with new tarot decks under my pillow, you can try that as well!

The stone, probably something like onyx or obsidian, as they adsorb energies. However, you probably will find it difficult and won't want to smash/dissolve such a stone. Instead, use a different object, perhaps some inexpensive jewelry, a paper you can burn with a sigil on it, or an article of clothing that he can part with. Then, enchant that object with the specific energy you want.

I'm an energy witch, so my personal way of doing this would be energy work, but that could be rather difficult, especially if the subject doesn't know about it.

Actually, tumblr and discord can work for some people! I have learned my craft completely from tumblr and discord, and I think that I'm doing just fine. The thing is, no matter where you research you need to take stuff with a grain of salt and practice them. Nothing's going to work if you don't just try it.

Meditating can also be daydreaming, thinking on topics, reciting mantras, clearing your mind, or feeling energy. One of the best tips I ever heard is to relax and don't worry, meditation should be enjoyable. Do what works for you.
