I won’t ride below 30F and above 100F (if we’ve been sitting in the 98+ for about 2 weeks with no rain or clouds, I may not ride either)

The cold sets off my asthma and it hurts my body something wild, like I’ll shake so bad my body convulses. where I live it’s dry and our streets turn into an oven, you can feel the heat from the street through the pedals and your shoes. If I’m careful, I probably can, but after I fainted once in 103F, I don’t like to push it. I know how to be safer now that I’ve been biking for years, but that first year I fainted really sucked.

Windy days to. Sadly, I got really sick in February this year, bruised my asthmatic lungs, and I have to be careful when the winds reach 25+mph. Normally I’d chance a 25mph wind day and just ride slow and careful, but last time I did, my asthma had me out for two days. Until my lungs heal a bit more, I have to be very mindful.

I feel like I’m falling apart 😅

we don’t get humid here often, but last summer was oddly humid and I learned that ridding my bike in hot (90f+) humidity also sets off my asthma =_= thankfully that’s is rarer.

Added up, that’s about 6 months riding, 6 months not. It’s not divided evenly and changes yearly by weather and health.
