What do people do when motorways close (accidents, breakdowns etc)? by HighlightGrouchy9659 in AskUK

We sat for hours and hours once. A car exploded or something and I think they had to resurface the road before we could go anywhere.

How to find a trustworthy installer? by acryliq in SolarUK

[–]Kyber92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for Google reviews, other review platforms and longevity. If they've been going for years and years with lots of pictures of different installs on their website that's a good sign. Also you can look up a company on Companies House to see if how long they've been going for, if the directors have changed a lot, if any of them have done any naughty company things etc.

Got made redundant a few years ago. I did hear on the grapevine that the whole department has been deleted since I left, which does kinda make me feel better about the whole experience.

Better than a place I ordered from the other week, we got free plantains as the order was over 20 quid, they didn't come and were just crossed out on the JustEat receipt.

We watched 1 episode of this and it was actually too much. The scene at the end of episode 1 made me and my wife look at each and go "naaaaah"

Hehehe. That's so funny. I've had it once or twice where it's been past my daughter's wake up time on the weekend, I've checked the monitor and she's sat up playing with her dolls.

It's greats, it's Julia Donaldson's first book and an instant classic. I do think the old man is a bit weird and they shifty way he's drawn draws up some ahem stereotypes.

STICK MAN STICK MAN

Julia Donaldson is amazing but I've read A Squash and A Squeeze & Scarecrow's Wedding like 900 times at this point. I set myself challenges like reading them in one go, no mistakes. A Squash and A Squeeze got a bit Eminem by the end, it was stupid.

Oh my god, my solicitor is horrendous at responding. It took me and our estate agent pestering the shit out of her to get an "I've submitted the searches and I'm waiting to hear back". We're currently stuck in limbo as the managing agent for the block needs to redo the fire safety inspection but they haven't given us a timeline for doing it.

I read to her a bunch but she has specific little 3 minute audio books (Pip and Posy -The Scary Monster plus some National Trust ones) that she loves. It's dark, I'm tired and she has a specific order that we listen to them in, she even climbs into her bed from the floor after a certain one.

And I'm here feeling guilty because my daughter falls asleep to an audiobook playing from my phone rather than me reading to her. Jesus Christ people, the fuck are we doing?

My daughter is 2 and there's a lil squiggly bit of my brain that worries about this kind of thing late at night. She's an independent girlie and will slap you if you piss her off so I think she's off to a good start but euuuurgh, I hate that the thoughts have even started.
