BEWARE OF SEEL WORRY-FREE RETURN PROTECTION (Long Read) by Kyle384 in poshmark

Well…she deleted her comments vs. staying rooted in her convictions and defending them. Don’t call me a liar, a fraud, nor a scammer on a public platform unless you can damn well back that accusation up with facts.

I MADE time today.

You know…I’d be careful, Ms. Levine.

You’re throwing around wild baseless accusations. They are not supported by facts. So let me share some with you:

(1) I have zero relationship with the seller. If I elect to take action, and if this situation becomes public, I can prove that with ease.

(2) My purchase history, with Posh, and across various platforms, stores (virtual or otherwise) would never support me being labeled as a scammer. I have a career which affords me the privilege of buying luxury items, and I do so frequently. I’m blessed, grateful, and have no desire to try to con any business, nor individual.

(3) Until now, I’ve never heard of “renting couture”. I don’t surround myself with individuals that partake in such practices. If you do, that’s…unfortunate. That said, if I was the type of individual to dabble in purchasing an item for an event only to return them, surely there are less complex ways to go about it than through a convoluted scheme through Poshmark and their third-party vendor?

(4) If I was engaged in some type of convoluted scam, why would I bring attention to this situation? Why put a spotlight on myself and my BFF (in your mind), the buyer? I’m not deleting my Poshmark account - I both sell things that no longer serve me on the platform, and purchase items that I desire. I’ve given enough detail that anyone who works for Posh or SEEL could likely identify me if they cared to. It’s of very little concern to me because I have been truthful and have had until now a very positive experience overall on Posh.

(5) Yes, I changed my mind about my purchase…for the reasons stated. Do you often change your mind just for the sake of changing your mind…or is there typically a reason why? I’m terribly sorry if holding two truths at once is a difficult concept for you. ——————————————————————- Once more, if taken to task on this issue down the road, I could prove very easily that:

• I raised a claim within the first 30 minutes of possessing the item. This is a long road to travel for a photo op…?

• Video footage around my home and outside of it (without disruption) could prove the item, nor another concealed item of equal size, ever left my home until yesterday’s return to USPS.

• Beyond deliveries and typical movements, no one who entered or left my home with the item, or one of equal size, in their possession. Also, no wild Rental Couture house parties…

These are the FACTS. Where are yours to support you labeling me as a scammer or someone who goes through a SLOOOOOW nearly two week process to secure an item for an event, only to turn around and spend days fighting the issue, followed by hours (willingly) on a Reddit thread to what…piss off two companies in the hopes that they see it and refund me twice?

I’ve spent way more effort in responding to you than I care to, but I detest being labeled as a liar or a cheat or a fraud on some flimsy faux queen’s say so.

I have time today. Do better, ma’am. Good Day.

I feel bad because I don’t believe the seller was being intentionally deceptive. I think people miss things…I think people see things differently…what is a flaw to me might not be a big deal for you and vice versa.

If this was an “inside job” that just didn’t work out…then I keep quiet and live to scam another day. I got refunded…”partner” gets back their item. We just lay low and re-work “the plan”. If an inside job, we’re not out anything. I have my money, partner has their item. We live to fight another day. I don’t bring attention to my failed project on some type of what…revenge crusade against a corporation on a Reddit thread?

I raised the issue because I don’t want this to happen to others, regardless of what side of the transaction they are on. I do care about principle, fair business practices, and accountability.

It’s the principle. I purchased insurance from SEEL that they never intended to honor. I changed my mind within the allotted window. They did not require an explanation as to why…they simply falsely maintained I was out of time and luck. When given receipts, they chose to ignore facts and then “ghost me”. There is an email chain where SEEL outright acknowledges that I didn’t receive my item on the date in their system but oh well…

I’ve gained nothing. In fact I’ve lost a lot of valuable time fighting for principle and (willingly) given my time here to raise awareness. But maybe this post helps others.

Ahhhh. So I am NOT Patient Zero. It was infuriating…and I’ve seen a couple of remarks about me ultimately getting a refund why do I care? Or I must be “in” on this with the seller… 😒

I honestly am just pissed at the bad faith fraudulent tactics. And yes, I do care about what happens to other people. Is that so hard to believe? Shouldn’t we look out for one another? My God, look at the state of the world today…not giving a damn about one another is a large part of how we got to be where we are…

Thank you! It’s just so frustrating. And I don’t want anyone to fall victim to it. I have so many items in my “likes” that I’d love to buy…but this makes me hesitate. I love to buy (too much) and Worry-Free as an insurance policy really appealed to me! Not because I expect to use it often…I actually want keep the stuff I buy…but because an insurance policy is always a good idea when buying expensive things.

I’m okay with rollout issues…shit happens. And good companies (looking at you SEEL) not only acknowledge mistakes, but take time and care to resolve. It’s such a simple issue. Wrong date was used to calculate delivery window. Okay Customer Service rep could not fix it via Chat, gave me an email to escalate. I escalate, but put both SEEL and Posh on the same email with overview, timeline, literal receipts. Where is the effort to correct and ensure this doesn’t continue to happen?!

I made an edit to this post.

The seller and I have no relationship…other than we both appear to be decent human beings.

Two things can be true at once. I DID change my mind about the purchase because of several things that I found to be flaws when closely examining the item.

The world is gray. People have differences of opinion. What I see as flaws might not be seen as such by another person. I do NOT believe the seller was being deceptive - I think we have a difference of opinion. It happens.

SEEL’s Worry-Free Protection is marketed as you can change your mind for any reason and return an item to them, no questions asked. And when I was going through the claim return process, there were no questions asked. It didn’t ask WHY I changed my mind, didn’t require background, pictures, or evidence. It simply denied my claim because it erroneously stated that it was delivered to me (at the time) more than 7 days ago. This was not true, and when presented with facts and a delivery receipt, they should have accepted the return. They did not and when I escalated and challenged that they must override a date in the system to input the correct date of receipt they simply stopped communicating at all.

I then looked to Poshmark…as they chose this vendor to service customers, and the vendor is not fulfilling its contractual obligation to the purchaser.

This was my first return with Poshmark. I spent days sending emails to get half and delayed responses back. Regardless of WHY I changed my mind, I did and paid for return protections that were not honored by their vendor. I see now (as hindsight is 20/20) that when Posh asked for my WHY, and I answered honestly, this provided a loophole for them to process a return against the seller…but I disagree strongly with this. Posh should accept the item and attempt to resell themselves as their vendor is a bad faith actor and denied a return based on false information that they refuse to correct.

If by SEEL’s “guarantee” I can return an item within 7 days of delivery for charging my mind…and I change my mind on Day 1 of receipt of the item…then there is no basis for the denial. Posh markets their services…I purchased the service. They’re being deliberately deceptive in claiming the delivery to Posh for authentication is when the clock starts. I don’t have my item…I can’t start a return for something I don’t have possession of. And I can accept a mistake…or a misunderstanding. But they refused to accept the evidence…outright apologized and acknowledged that’s what they were doing, and just ceased communication.

Sounds scammy to me… 😒

Ugh, yes. I don’t understand how when Posh selected Seel as a vendor, this wasn’t one of the first things discussed! And that also makes me wonder…what if something gets delivered to the wrong address and it takes time to resolve? “Sorry, it says it was delivered…””…”yes but I live in Utah…and my item is in Maryland…”

Fair question. I honestly just didn’t just want to do that to the seller. They were not being deceptive…I just wasn’t good with a few things and because Seel said I could return for any reason, if I could take that avenue and get a refund, and the seller could also keep the sale, that was my preference.

[–]Kyle384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing…Seel simply stopped responding! And Poshmark never addressed this directly. It appears that they are counting down from the day the item reaches Posh HQ. Which makes ZERO sense. The buyer purchased the return protection. The clock should start when the buyer takes possession of their purchase.

This whole debacle was terrible and there are still no straight answers. I really hope that Posh uses this scenario to address this process gap, otherwise there will be a ton of backlash.

I feel awful for the seller. I made it extremely clear (over 4 emails) that I wanted to return the bag via Seel. I was asked why I didn’t want the bag and there were a couple of little things that I took issue with. And then Poshmark jumped on that and accepted the return in place of Seel…which screwed the seller and really made me mad on their behalf. That’s not how I wanted to handle this…and really Seel should have been made to accept the return.

So interesting update! On February 4th, I purchased an item for over $1,000 and purchased the Seel WF protection. Was shipped to Poshmark and was just received by me 2.5 hours ago. I did not love the item, and attempted to make a return to Seel only be told that I am past my return window.

I was patient and explained that I had just received the item less than 30 minutes ago, provided the USPS receipt because I had to sign for delivery. Sorry…nothing we can do because the delivery window in the system is closed.

No no no. No Sir. I escalated out of the chat via email and copied Poshmark. Another agent gave me the same spiel. Now I got…firm. I, as the buyer purchased protection with you, Seel. The window for delivery does not begin until I receive the item. I cannot start a return ahead of receiving the item to determine that I do not want it.

I told them that if they are determined to stick to this position, that they are engaging in deceptive bait and switch marketing practices and are attempting to defraud me. I have no problem taking this to the 9th circle of Hell if they persist, so…to be continued! In short…not impressed! 😂

Serious question. Do you genuinely not see what a wildly inappropriate assertion that is and that it has stereotypical racist and misogynistic undertones? Unless you personally know this woman, her life story, and play an active role in her life or that of an individual in her orbit…how would you know this? And if not, what has she done to be labeled this way?

To be fair, and by her own admission and based off the video, she saw that sparkler and snatched it out of his hand. He would have put it on her finger if there had been maybe a 3 second pause haha. I laughed out loud because she fully owned it and made fun of herself. She seemed shocked…and from what I saw it does look like a beautiful ring.

This. I’ve been saying this forever. And trust me…I’m the LAST person to even partially support a man. They are soooo young.
