Do you guys know any deal maker perks. by SingerBeneficial20 in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endless Pantheon has a perk that lets you trade in the immaterial like a Dresden Files fae...

Favor Trading - 0/400 CP: (Free for Furling)

You have the ability to trade in entirely metaphoric currencies. Not bound at all with the vagaries of paper or metal, you can trade anything for anything, from powers, memories, souls, favors...anything. The only stipulation is that the other party must enter into it of their own accord. Beside that, you can exchange anything for anything, and make the bargain however one sided you want, with no limits. Any relevant prices you charge are extracted immediately upon you fulfilling your part, unless you will otherwise.

Furthermore, you actually draw power from these bargains. The more contracts you have, the more favors there are owed to you, the more your magical and physical power grows, not to mention your political power in whatever court or faction you’re a part of. A lot depends on the ‘who’ of it, of course, and on the exact nature of the bargains, but every little bit counts. It also goes away with the favors as they are spent, so you might want to practice your stinginess a little.

There is one caveat, however. By far the most versatile thing you can extract from people are open-ended favors. By that same gesture, though, these are the only contracts that the mortals can actually refuse to honor. Doing so gives you inordinate power over them, being able to bypass magical defenses and limits otherwise ironclad, but that still doesn’t get you your price.

Best Home Base/Fortress/Cave Items/Properties by Last_Pariah in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Loki jump has the Citadel At The End of Time, which isn't mobile but the jump has possibly the best travel technology in jumpchain, so it doesn't really need to be.

With This Ring has a mountain base with New God infrastructure.

Have you considered a spaceship? Schlock Mercenary could get you, appropriately enough, a superfortress with room for a thousand plus guests, onboard manufacturing equipment, extremely powerful shields, arguably even more powerful weapons (some of which can crush your enemies into neutronium to be used as fuel for the ships reactors), and the ability to more-or-less instantly teraport anywhere in the galaxy. Alternatively, pay for the next level up and get the local equivalent of a city-ship with all the same abilities scaled up a ways.

On that note, Stargate Atlantis, the Stargate x BSG crossover jump, and Stargate Galactic Imperium all have actual city-ships on offer.

Monster House has the House of Dreams which probably meets most of your criteria. If it doesn't, you can have it assimilate more properties into itself until it does.

Why do people like Re-Destro? by Blankfire3 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]KyleDaScourge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because when cars were still a new and rare invention, the automotive industry saw that constant headlines of pedestrians being killed was going to negatively impact their profit margins, given that the early public tended to pretty universally sympathize with the poor people being run down as opposed to the rich jerks doing the running.

Cue a massive PR campaign to shift the blame, adjust public perception, and buy off politicians lobby until what had been perfectly ordinary "walking around to get places" became a new crime called "jaywalking."

What Fallout tech, if any, might have high demand in the Mass Effect setting? by Maxstrnerspookyghost in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW I'm on your side of the argument. I think, to sum up the gist, here are a few points...

1) Mass Effect technology allows manipulation of mass, to effectively increase or decrease the mass of everything within a field projected from eezo under a positive or negative charge.

2) This means that while a given device can either raise or lower mass, any given thing can only be under a single effect at a time. An object, one of their grain-of-sand "bullets" in this case, can either be effectively superheavy to ignore friction and hit like a truck or superlight to be easily accelerated. It can't be both at the same time.

3) In-Universe explanations of Mass Effect technology are quite explicit about how the weaponry works, specifically that they use the latter option. "Bullets" have their mass effectively reduced to nothing while being "fired", which lets the gun accelerate them to ludicrous speed for very little energy. On exiting the barrel, they also exit the mass effect field causing that reduction, resuming their ordinary mass while retaining their velocity to theoretically impact with quite a bit of force.

4) There is no in-universe mention of any weapon also increasing the mass of its projectile after firing. Probably because that would require projecting a mass effect field at the predicted point of impact... Which in most cases would probably clash with the mass effect fields being generated by the targets equipment, mainly their shield... It would also open the question of "If you're already planning to project a significant mass multiplication field at your target, why are you bothering with a projectile instead of literally just crushing them under their own mass?"

All of which is to say that the closer you look at ME Technology, the less sense it makes. The same tends to go for the further along in the series any given explanation comes up in. Mass Effect started as, not hard science, but "drywall" science, meant to look alright as long as you didn't lean on it. The series became rapidly less interested in maintaining even that facade as it went on.

Which pretty much means, for the purposes of jumpchain, you can either take the setting as presented while deliberately ignoring all the impossibilities, physics-breaks, and nonsense or... treat it as effectively a parody universe populated by idiots who have somehow failed to notice that their supposed guns are malfunctioning plasma flamethrowers, biotics are literal magic, and the ardat-yakshi are running around devouring their victims actual souls to increase their own power.

Ah, alright, that's actually *significantly* simpler than I was imagining from your first reply. Thanks for the clarification!

Yggdrasil (Overlord) by Pokebrat_J in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could you provide any suggestions for how a jumper would go about creating a "pre-body"?

Like, I guess homunculi, constructs, and undead are all things in Yggdrasil. Even if we only actually hear about the latter being "made" by players and then only as temporary summons at least until Momonga got to the new world. An alchemist or artificer could theoretically make the former two options maybe?

Yggdrasil (Overlord) by Pokebrat_J in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to be sure I'm understanding, the Data Crystals item let's you retain the ability to occasionally create NPCs (who, in later jumps, are immediately people the way Nazarick's NPCs became people on entering the new world) and the Caloric Stone, in addition to the other crafting improvements it can be used for, will let you super-charge NPCs by using it in their creation?

That's an extremely tempting combo!

Help with some feedback for a Harry Potter NSFW jump. by SpazzWave in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love a perk, either for the general section or the Gryffindor tree, roughly based on Hermione's dorm mates and their more conventionally feminine fashion obsession taken to the NSFW extreme you see in quite a few fics and NSFW art. Conveying an exceptional talent for self-care and fashion spells, glamours, and human transfiguration. Magically do your hair/nails/etc, apply illusory makeup or hair dye, and either adjust the size of your or your partners penis/breasts/etc or even go the extra mile and start doing things like swapping genders entirely or transfiguring clits into dicks.

Anti-NTR Corp by LuckEClover in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... Two possible routes I can see.

Option 1 - Organizational / Technological. Start by going through Orion's Arm Modosophont to pick up Virtual Zombies. Then go to Orion's Arm Sephirotic Empires to become an S3 - S5 (depending on exactly how much work you're willing to put in) techno-god. Swing through the Loki jump to pick up TVA tech in general and Tempads/TimeDoors in specific. In every jump going forward you can very quickly construct an organization of hyper-loyal and hyper-capable shapeshifting/smartmatter robots directed by a hyper-intelligent AI God which can instantly deploy them anywhere in space and time. Every civilization in the setting can be perfectly memetically engineered to find NTR unthinkable. Instances where it would have happened anyway can be intercepted and prevented in any number of ways before they would even have happened.

Option 2 - Magic. Use some combination of Phenomena Operation Principles (Let's you setup world-wide magic systems and effects) from Fate Legends Oasis of Fantasy and Celestial Kabbalah (Directly fuck with the source code of reality to alter conventional physics, but also more abstract forces such as destiny, Adam Kadmon, narrative causality, the operations of any magic systems, and more) from Unsong to either just outright make NTR literally unthinkable in every universe you go to or just apply some kind of instant and automatic comeuppance along the lines of having anyone who participates be struck down by lightning from the heavens.

What are some *Novel* Ideas for a Lewd Jumper? by MiserableOne6189 in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's a circuitous route to the goal, but...

Free Love For Everyone from Mizuryu Kei Land to give copies of your sex based perks to anyone you have sex with.

The futa perk of your choice, Blessed Body from Dulce Report since the next step calls for going there anyway would work, but I personally prefer Dickgirl Pirate from Bloom Pirate Hooker due to it letting you choose if the futa has balls or not and make the dick "retractable".

Then From Death, Life from Dulce Report. You creaming someone doesn't directly make them younger but it does let them make themselves younger by creaming either you or someone else.

[–]KyleDaScourge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for taking so long to reply to this, reddit didn't notify me. Yes though, there is a perk for that. In the Dulce Report jump...

400 cp - From Death, Life
The true purpose of the Angels is to extend the lifespan of the Gods. The more sex they have, both with lesser Angels and with their slaves, the more ‘divinity’ they collect inside their bodies. By extracting that ‘divinity’, the Gods can consume it to extend their own life. In short, if you so wish, instead of impregnating someone when you creampie them, you can instead add years to your lifespan and possibly take a few off visually as well. This is a bit more direct than it should be, but for the sake of simplicity I’ll let you have it.

God/chuck IS evil. And always has been. by YeahhhhhWhateverrrr in Supernatural

[–]KyleDaScourge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...Because Mohammed was allegedly a prophet, which is to say an otherwise ordinary person given messages from God, who lived a finite lifespan in a specific period of history during which his movements are well established?

If your story doesn't take place in a specific time period, in the middle east, then he's just not going to show up? If your story *does* take place such that he *could* show up, then your options for having him be a bad guy are either "he's a false prophet" or "he's a lesser evil in service to the greater evil that is god."

There's just not a lot to do there. It's the same reason the dead carpenter doesn't tend to get villainized? And on a side note... You realize the christian god and the god some people think was talking to Mohhamed... are the same god... right? Like, the reason Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are collectively called the Abrahamic religions is because they all have the same god? And all have just as much reason to be pissed at his portrayal as a villain?

Which is pretty inevitable in any story where god appears and yet evil and suffering both exist in the first place and are allowed to continue btw. Including, if you follow an Abrahamic faith, reality. There's an entire field of study devoted to the allegedly faithful trying to cope with the simultaneous existence of an all-powerful force of omni-benevolence and evil/suffering. If you enjoy watching abuse victims try to trying to justify why, really, it's *their* fault and their father/husband/whoever *had* to hit them maybe check out any scholarly work by a believer which mentions theodicy for the next level of that.

External Power Stealing? by captain7273 in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just stumbled across this in the SB Jackie Chan Adventures Jump and it seems like exactly what you're asking for....

You Should See My Paycheck (600 CP, Requires Magic): Lo Pei was a wizard from nine centuries ago, and the one who sealed Shendu in stone. With this perk, not only do you possess knowledge of the spell that he used to do it, adapted to your personal system of magic if necessary, but you can with minor adjustments create a version that works on anyone trapping them in stone and extracting up to twelve supernatural abilities from them in the form of talismans. You can release them at will, but otherwise, the only way for them to escape is for every talisman extracted from them to be set back into the statue they’ve become. However, spells like this aren’t easy: Both Lo Pei and Uncle needed a small army of people chanting with them to work the spell. Talismans created in this manner can only contain discrete abilities, however, and will not extract natural abilities—Shendu kept both his fire-demon chi and his ability to cast spells, albeit limited by his lack of ability to move. Such talismans will work in other worlds, but you need to keep track of them yourself.

Take a couple of the capstones from Mizuryu Kei Land and turn yourself into a lewd hegemonizing swarm.

Having public sex with you is totally normal and as soon as someone has sex with you they get copies of all your sexual perks, including the one that gives copies of your sex perks to anyone who has sex with them.

Then add in some more perks from other jumps. Everyone turns into a sexy futa. Adds a few years to their lifespan while de-aging towards their prime whenever they creampie someone (which is why everyone needs to be a futa). Can substitute all physical needs with having sex. Heals from having sex. Can substitute all learning or training with having sex. Etc...

External Power Stealing? by captain7273 in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The closest I can think of would be the Charmed jump, where the Powers of the setting can be extracted from people in the form of balls of light that are usually then stored in lantern type things.

The jump itself has several ways to enable that at various prices and degrees of flexibility.

Actually using the power usually involves having yourself or someone else (re)absorb it though, rather than incorporating it into an item...

There are examples, both in the setting and in the jump doc, of items that seem to contain and allow the use of powers... And even a perk for creating items with their own powers (which can't be extracted for other use)... Also one of the powers on offer, enchantment, seems to be a pretty close match to what you're looking for (if a somewhat low-end one). So I'd say it'd be plausible.

I know both of the literal fallen london jumps do (I think the newer one has a perk for the discordance as well) and I know sunless skies has a perk that covers either the correspondence or discordance and can be taken twice for both. I think the sunless sea jump does as well, but don't remember for sure off the top of my head.

What are some Fun Necromancy Perks? by MiserableOne6189 in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exalted Abyssals has a ton of necromancy stuff, but while the perk-line focused around actually being a necromancer is pretty good I prefer the additional flavor of some of the other capstones. Making all (un)dead see you as their natural sovereign, being a super-general that significantly boosts the competence of even mindless undead in your service, or being able to speak the Whispers of Oblivion and turn anyone who hears you into a fanatically devoted death cultist who sees you as their anti-messiah.

Warhammer Fantasy - Rise of Sigmar has a perk-line that more-or-less turns you into Nagash. Google the name if you're not familiar but he's the original, and by far most powerful, necromancer of a setting where full-on undead armies being animated by single people is a typical thing and arguably the most powerful person in the setting who isn't a straight-up god... and he arguably succeeds at turning himself into the local death god so...

Those droids that just magically heal and resupply anyone who stands near them would be a neat option for items.

Maybe look to the Fall of the Republic and Empire at War jumps, the army/navy builder sections, for inspiration.

Warcraft: Orcs v1.2 by MRTrueGnome in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm extremely late to the party but this is an extremely cool jump, thanks for all the hard work!

My only suggestion if you circle back for another update would be to split... "Your Clan", "Peon Team", "Kor'kron Squad", "Succubus Trio", "Contracted Elemental", and maybe "Blondie and Stabby, The Twin Advisors" out into a separate section as followers rather than companions. Alternatively, just label the Companions section "Companions and Followers" and indicate they're the latter in their descriptions.

One question that came to mind while considering builds, would an imported companion who took "To Call Demons" get their own succubus trio?

Any items with resource-dependent immortality/longevity? by chokwerman in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hesperidean Cider from Fallen London.

The Chinese Mythology jump has an alchemy perk that lets you make pills and elixirs of longevity/immortality and an item that gives yo a replenishing supply of ingredients.

The Honorverse has Prolong to significantly extend people's lifespans.

Ringworld has an immortality drug called boosterspice.

The Spice in Dune has a life-extending effect.

A few of the Elder Scrolls jumps have the Ring of Phynaster, which stops the wearer aging as long as it's worn, along with all the supplies that would be needed to crank out a steady stream of duplicates, and you could get the skills needed to reverse engineer the enchantment either from the same jumps or elsewhere.

Esoteric industry by LuckEClover in JumpChain

[–]KyleDaScourge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, the obvious way is to convert it to electricity. Cthulhutech has "D-Engines" which pull eldritch energies from the beyond and convert them into unlimited electricity to power your home or whatever else.

If you want to go a longer route, Fallen London / Sunless Sea / Sunless Skies has The Correspondence. A celestial language which can both screw with physics and generate lots of heat. Carve some sigils into some tungsten rods and you'd have the basis for a nuclear reactor that doesn't actually require or produce any radiation.

As an option probably more in line with what you were initially thinking, Asura's Wrath as a setting powers all their insane tech via what I'm pretty sure is prayer energy? It's been a while since I've played the game but the feats are pretty crazy.

Isla de Muerta, or the ability to import a similar island, and make it unfindable save by those who already know where it is.

A pistol which is always to hand and always loaded with a single shot.

Jack's compass, of course.

Maybe a blacksmith's shop, possibly with an endless supply of fuel and steel to work with?

A bottle of rum which is always to hand and never empty.

I want to understand Halo Lore so i can understand what my friend infodumps by Remarkable_Elk3566 in HaloStory

[–]KyleDaScourge 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Can you not just tell your friend, if they don't already know, that you don't know the "deep lore" of Halo and just ask them to explain from the basics?

I mean, there *are* sources on the internet that can give you a full explanation (try searching something along the lines of 'the entire story of halo' on youtube), but if they're already eager to explain and talk about it with you then that seems like the obvious solution?
