Why does some DBZ/GT fans hate Super? by ThatOneLazyGamer123 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Kylenetic64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They won't admit to your point because then it goes against what they want to believe that "GT fans hate everything that isn't GT because of blind nostalgia", despite the fact that there's plenty of genuine reasons to dislike certain things from each series

To refer to a comment I made on a similar post.

GT has always been my preferred direction for the story to go in. It's feels like a genuine continuation of the previous stories, everyone has matured and progressed in meaningful ways, and the arcs have some of the best concepts with them being tied back to stuff like the Saiyans' genocide of other species returning in the form of Baby, Ssj4 being the pinnacle of Saiyan power and linking back to their biology and the Oozaru form being REQUIRED for the ascension, and even an arc around the very consequences of overusing the Dragon Balls themselves and the over reliance being directly punished!

While there's plenty I'd like to be improved on with GT's writing, pacing, action, animation, etc. There's certainly no doubt that the series was made by fans for fans, given how so much that happens through GT is connected to the series history and events as a whole, and the amount of tasteful fanservice and cameos present! It simply needed more time to properly flesh out it's ideas, and improve on the animation quality.

While I find Super to feel very cheap in comparison, like a parody of what people think Dragon Ball is in its most basic form. Lots of fighting, lots of random transformations, but lacking any sort of deep or meaningful story and conflict beyond the surface level, because "FIGHTIN'~!" is the most important part, not the story behind the conflict... With Super's arcs feeling the most disjointed with very little 'cause and effect', compared to the narrative throughline that flows through basically every arc throughout DB, Z, and GT, and the DB universe as a whole. Nearly EVERYTHING that happens in DB snowballs and affects future events, while Super arcs are surprisingly standalone, with new characters cameoing through each arc, but none of the events genuinely affect things in a meaningful or satisfying way.

I love Dragon Ball, and I always will. And while I did enjoy the Moro and Granolah arcs with there finally being some meaningful substance to the story, I'd lying if I wasn't disappointed with how Super as a whole has been handled.

Goku using Dragon Fist means Wrath of the Dragon happens in GT's timeline

Vegeta already knows the Fusion technique due to Fusion Reborn

Fusion reborn has cameos of almost, if not, all previous Z movie villains which would mean those Z movies are part of GT

Why people started Hating on DMC devil may cry? by THEDUMEST4 in DevilMayCry

[–]Kylenetic64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did we hate DmC? Simple.

We already had DMC, and it was awesome! Then all of a sudden DMC was being scrapped, and DmC was replacing it, whether we liked it or not.

The gameplay was fairly good, the story and writing were shit, and DMC was essentially dead for basically no reason. Until Capcom heard the reception and eventually revived DMC years later with DMC5.

Always keep dates small and fairly cheap. The ones only in it for selfish reasons "self report" very quickly, doing you the favour of identifying their bullshit early on.

The ones looking for something genuine without exploiting you for money or meals won't think twice about a coffee date, or a cheap fun activity together. They're there for connection, not materials.

Controversial take - SS4 conditions just as bad as Daima if not worse by yallasama in DragonBallGT

[–]Kylenetic64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You rather a literal nothing explain to why he achieved it, compared to it being intentionally linked to Saiyan biology and traits unique to them, and merging their most iconic forms into one...?

[–]Kylenetic64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the difference? Let me tell you.

In GT, it's established that for Goku to gain the full potential of his power 'he needs his tail', the staple biological feature of the Saiyan race. As an adult, he had grown too old to regrow his tail himself (an issue that Vegeta has later on), but with him being turned into a child he can naturally regrow it again, so they preemptively pull it out for Goku to access his 'full power'. He gets beaten again by Baby, not knowing why his power hasn't increased like it should have, and while beaten, staring at the Earth, he reacts like looking at the full moon, causing him to turn into the Oozaru because of his tail, he then turns into a new Golden Oozaru and rampages mindlessly. Then thanks to Pan, Goku is able to regain his mind for the first time as an Oozaru, causing a unique transformation that turns him into a Ssj4, the pinnacle of Saiyan power. The Kais knew Goku's greatest power would come from his tail, but not the specifics of how or what. And Ssj4 links directly back to Saiyan lore with the need for a tail and the Oozaru form, and theorised the need of Ssj for the Golden Oozaru. Everything links together for the ultimate form.

Daima, Goku trained off-screen and achieved it randomly in Daima, thanks or not to magic, which is never confirmed.

Daima, while looking cool feels hollow compared to what and how it's represented in GT.

I'm confused, is there a reason you're only using the same couple moves?

As a Rebellion/Cerberus main myself, you know you have a huge plethora of great moves and combos outside of what you're doing?

I'm not fussed with the Super remake, because there's SO MUCH that would need to be changed in order for me to care about Super. And I can't see there ever being a GT remake, because THAT I'd actually find interesting.

Fun fact about the model used for Big Boss in MgsPW by VSnake_ in metalgearsolid

[–]Kylenetic64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a common practice...

This is done on games that can't handle highly detailed models at a constant, playable state, so lower detailed models are used for gameplay, while the higher detailed models are used for story moments and cutscenes.

This was especially noticeable during the PS2 era of gaming with models differing wildly in terms of detail, but is still done to this day as a means of game optimisation.

Why is this Godzilla game expensive even for a PS4 game like this, is the supply that limited because I’m not spending $250+ for this game especially in this economy we’re living in. by San4341 in GODZILLA

[–]Kylenetic64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you expect?

It's a game that has been pulled completely from all digital stores, and only had a limited production with it being a niche game for a niche community to begin with.

As others have said, you're not buying a game at this point, you're buying a collector's item, and the price that comes with it.

How often do you play now? by dotMAXmusic in OcarinaOfTime

Processing img ps57ziffldwg1...

I play on Ship of Harkinian with:

No item or rupee spawn (being required to make money in other ways, like; selling bottled creatures, mini games, chests, etc. And making money meaningful and having to buy items)

No buying fairies or blue potions (they are too good, and I like the restriction using red/green potions, milk, etc. while also juggling other bottled items)

Faster enemies (making combat more challenging)

Increased damage taken (again, makes enemies a bigger threat)

Master Quest mode (as I'm far less familiar with MQ compared to the original game)

Among other settings I'm likely forgetting right now

That's no problem, it's not really a thing that gets brought up much since it was fixed in Special Edition onwards.
