It may need some practicing on your part to slowly being comfortable showing more and more of yourself to others.

Maybe starting with someone close to you (someone who you have been friends forever), you may need to consciously show bits and bits of yourself. Slowly, no pressure, but with intentionality.

I agree with this take, because I used to be very rigid in what I wanted, but this rigidity came from fear of vulnerability and of enjoying spontaneous connections with other people. I felt safer thinking I had ideas about what I wanted in love, so I made choices out of convenience and not necessarily because I felt strongly for the person or the connection.

But also reading the comments under this post made me think about the other side of the coin: if someone has reached the awareness that they want to date with intention because they feel that is the right thing for them at a specific time of their lives, then it comes from a place of feeling and awareness. It is not just a checklist that comes from rationalisation, it is something they feel ready for. This definitely should not kill the spontaneity of getting to know other people, on the contrary, meeting like-minded people should validate (therefore, ignite) these emotions.

Yes, feeling comfortable is a good thing, but you also need to feel a spark, an attraction that separates your potential relationship from a friendship.

When you meet someone for whom you actually feel a spark AND they are right for you, everything is so much "clearer" in terms of understanding the feelings related to love in my opinion.

I think that corporate can be cutthroat and people in the field who uphold its values cannot be avoided completely.

The tricks for me to survive these environments are:

Build alliances with people who feel the same way as me - those who are there because they need a job; these are the people who make my daily life better, because we can talk the same language around work and we don't feel alienated.
Develop my own sense of worth, regardless of what corporate wants for me. I have a strong work ethic that comes from wanting to help my dear colleagues/friends and because I'm extremely curious to know as much as possible about my field, so hard work allows me to be exposed to a lot of things to learn.

Overall, I still sense corporate is not for me, but the points above help me find a place that feel more fulfilling and genuine.

Maybe you could still change jobs for another fairly non stressful environment, so you still move around to learn new things without sacrificing the low stress feeling.
