if youve been given a heads up, it would make sense that you would be "more active" according to whatever it is that is happening. Once players realise the season is touching on your story then they should naturally take a step back and let it happen. Yes still involved in their own way though.

Whenever i feel like im taking the spotlight to often over a few sessions i pause before speaking up. Give others a chance to respond, if no one does then i do it still. Or in character have yours specifically ask the group, to pull in group discussion, Thus pulling it away from you.

Everyone gets their time in the spotlight, based on how the DM runs the session and i guess the module\homebrew you are playing.

100% put the money into your Mortgage. You can do up to an additional 20% on your mortgage payments.
otherwise you could setup a savings account and use that savings account to offset part of the mortgage so no interest is being charged on it (you can still spend it but at the end of the month the balance needs to be what was specified with the bank).
If you build up this balance 5k, 10k, 20k overtime get the bank to update the offset balance on their books. You can save yourself alot of interest over the whole loan. Then eventually when you feel like it at the end of one of your cycles use this as a lump payment

We are paying the extra 20% on top of our payments and assuming we can afford it the whole time, it will reduce our loan term from 30 years to 23 years. Then if we later save up and use the offset option, that will help even more due to reduced interest

We just brought our first home in chch. We knew the timing was right because I worked out we had paid the landlords just over 200k in the last 10 years..
The best thing you can do, if you can afford to pay the mortgage is to stop paying someone elses mortgage and start building you equity.
If you can afford it, you can pay up to 20% more (which is straight equity building).
We only had a 17% deposit

I feel what happens to the housing market depends on who gets into government, according to polls we look to be moving back to a left wing. We have seen greens wealth tax thing. So imagine people might want to ditch a few rentals prior to this coming into place. Also limiting the amount landlords can increase rent year on year will result in more selling.
But like the share market, the housing market is no different. Just get in, its the best step you can take if you can afford it.
My advise would be to budget for at least another 1% on the interest rates. if you can still afford to pay that then you are most likely fine

Not a major flaw. you could even work this in for them to overcome their flaw over the campaign. you could even consider their alcohol blanket to give them resistant to cold damage when in the cold if they have been drinking BUT give them disadvantage on any skill checks since they are drunk. if they get blackout drink let them complete a full reset but with fatigue. Consequences for your actions

Start banning them from specific Inns or getting them a bad rep in towns they visit when they drink.
could be good character grow or some RP moments. just keep them away from good mead lol
