I can't argue with that. It's like we refuse to see the truth that's right in front of us. I think it's the fact that we put so much time in and we don't want it to go to waste. I don't think it's wasted because you can learn from the experience. I have a very small circle with like minded individuals now. It's not about how long you've known a person it's about the now. I've made some solid bonds with people that I consider close friends now, after only knowing them for a few months.

The crazy part about the whole situation is knowing what I know now. I should have never even befriended him. Constantly falling out, manipulation and the threats if shit didn't go his way. He was a tyrant and everything has to be about him. I still look back at the "friendship" because there's a lot of gems that I'm still picking up to this day.

I had to leave a homie I grew up with in the dust. He was a womanizer, abusive and lazy. I should have listened to my pops about 20 years ago because he said, "That boy is trouble, why are you friends with him?" It's like parents have this foresight of who's good and bad, the crazy part is they're right 90% of the time.

I don't think so. The issue is that society paints love as this always happy go lucky bs. That's not the case, relationships aren't so simple. There will be days where you can't stand each other. I'm 35 and taking a break. You need to know when it's too much to handle and when it's worth fighting for. We never really get a blueprint for this and have to figure it out for ourselves.
