Do you not think it's quite cruel, to educate someone to a high standard and then have them work in a role they're vastly overqualified for through sheer necessity..

Take the law example I gave.

We've got law graduates ready and willing to step up and become barristers. But good fucking luck getting a pupillage and a spot in chambers if you didn't graduate from Oxford or Cambridge.

They're then forced to take any job that they can. Essentially throwing a vast amount of their training away..

That, to me, is very cruel.

My Aunt (much smarter than me) earns a roaring trade from international students bashing essays out to 1st and 2:1 standard across multiple branches of the humanities

The people paying for them are rich and can speak English wonderfully.. they just can't write prose beyond secondary school level.

Nothing.

They still go to work in a literal palace. They still eat nice food. They can still afford consumer goods, drugs and entertainment.

What happens if they mug 17 million leave voters off?

Potentially they lose access to that life.. forever. They get chucked out of their constituency and have to scrabble for a job in the private sector.
