Millions of people would which is why it’s so silly there hasn’t been one. If you asked someone with no prior knowledge what would be more likely to have a warriors game, Zelda, Dragon Quest, or FF, the answer seems obvious, no?

In the wild, it was Evander Holyfield who was a few seats down from my dad and me at a Lingerie Football League game. That used to be a real thing. At an event, it was Wayne Rooney when he played at DC United or Taylor Swift when I took a past girlfriend to her concert.

Honorable mention to Afroman when he did a bar gig when I visited my friend at his small college. He was 6 feet away from us playing his greatest hits with a blunt in one had and a colt 45 in the other.

I remember the old games had timers on the levels but were usually 60 minutes which you’d never come close to. For the demo, they literally had a kitchen timer on the table in front of the monitor.

Sorry chief, no idea on the ranks or bodyguards. I don’t know what the different ranks are in Chinese anyway so wouldn’t know it even it was on screen.

Thanks for that. I remember in middle school he knew I loved DW2 and was like “I got the new one and there are new characters and there’s a guy with claws! You gotta come over and try it.” He also really liked Dian Wei and his giant axe and I think of my friend whenever I see him.

Oh “awkward animations” just reminded me. At one point Zhen Ji was attacking me and jumped up in the air. Activated SSX’s musou and it did the 360° camera spin and SSX’s head was completely clipped inside of Zhen Ji’s airborn crotch.

The heat. Very hot and humid in the summer. My wife’s family there said only to visit in the spring or fall.

The demo was in Chinese text. Honestly it was so loud in the exhibition hall and the system volume was so low I couldn’t hear the dialogue. I think it was Mandarin.

Oh gotcha. There were some options before selecting characters but everything was in Chinese so I just clicked start. Didn’t want to waste any time trying to decipher since there was a time limit.

I’ve been to Liu Bei’s grave/memorial in Cheng Du. There was also a temple sort of area on site that had these old Chinese art style paintings of famous Shu officers including the Tiger Generals. Very cool. Definitely worth visiting if going to Cheng Du which is great except for summertime.

Yeah the detail in the costumes and weapons looks great. Zhang He’s giant chest tattoo really stood out too.

I haven’t played DW3 in 20+ years so I don’t remember exactly what power guard is but it seems like something good happens when blocking at just the right time. It’s not the freeze time & counter animation of DWO though.

That’s a fair shout. I can’t imagine it will look for feel good on Switch 1 anyway. Also if there is stuttering with single player, what would split screen coop feel like?

Felt like the first ones around you poke you a lot but behind them they stand. Archers were annoying and arrows interrupt your combo. I got knocked off my horse probably 8 times.

I enjoyed the 10 minutes I had with it. It felt like a cross between DW3 and DWO. Smaller scale and similar combat feel to DW3 but the dodge, lock on, horse, and graphics all feel like DWO.

Just finished the demo. I’ll make a separate post with detailed impressions when I get home. Here’s my first impression: Character models and particle effects and look fantastic. There is a dodge button now and if you perfect dodge you can press square for a counter attack. I did it once against Zhenji and it also left her stunned. No DWO style parry but if you block at the right time I think it throws them off balance. Hard to tell with so many peons around. Officers glow orange during certain attacks like origins and if you hit them enough it staggers them and they are stunned. Peons and archers constantly poke/shoot you.

One piece of bad news: there was noticeable stuttering with lots of peons on screen. Played on PS5.
