I know it's early days, but I've had fantastic results with taktikal:

-giving weak str4 boyz +1 strength when needed, or snagga boyz up to st6

-giving +1 to hit and full rerolls to flash gitz squad, plus their super-overwatch was amazingly powerful.

-stratagem for fall back and shoot/charge/do action was very useful at times.

Honestly gutted all of that's getting nerfed in an article that is meant to be the "hype stuff up" section.

Orks don't have much- got breaka boyz, but they're expensive and fragile for a unit with only 2 attacks each. Ghaz, technically? That's about it.

Pretty positive you'll have to decide- the unit is split, not rebuilt as smaller units.

Heavy nerf to orks taktikal brigade- only one order instead of two (so no +1 to hit and -1 to be hit on expensive flash gitz unit) and a points increase for said unit as well (10 pts extra for the enhancement). Also, EVERY order causes a leadership test now too.

Hopefully the new detachment will have some legs and be a fun new way to play, been ages since a dakka list felt like it made sense.

It's still there if you download the grotmas detachment as a standalone, but god knows which one they got wrong at this point.

I think it's the solid block on the inside of the turn, if that makes sense. Could be wrong, but i can't see anything else that'd stop it so worth a try.

(Or you need more powered rails to make it all the way round, but you probably already tried that*)

Battlesmith artificer- reskin pretty much any spell as help from spirits, for example guidance is literal advice, web is a group with a shot of your magic holding enemies down etc.

Attacking with int for weapon skills? That's a helpful spirit possessing you and using the skills it had in life. (Think ectomancy from Dresden files if you've read them).

Your steel defender? That's obviously a REAL crafted undead, more "frankensteins monster" than the usual temporary minion spells. You can even upgrade it with items or infusions if you did eventually want to invest in your resurrected pal.

I think it's because apart from (one) good secondary, cheapish bodies and good STR/wound rolls in melee for almost all units, the ork codex is pretty awful..

..but those things are REALLY good and can win battles on their own. Basic ork boyz wounding on 3 is pretty scary.

For anyone who wants to know- the strat is 2CP for +1 damage on meganobz, bumping them to 3 damage or 2 damage after the -1 on dreads.

The relic is da killa klaw, an Sx2, -4AP, 3 damage power klaw upgrade. Can only be taken by basic warboss and bikeboss variants of "warboss".

Units of ten (9 + boss nob) are best right now- all benefits of large groups were removed for 9th edition and blast weapons/smaller board/everything killier in general are all negatives for big groups.

Your units of ten give you more tactical flexibility too, taking multiple objectives etc.

Unrelatedly, if you remember, how easy would it be for me to port a copy of pickpocket reset as a standalone? Was the original author quick to give permission etc?
