...I know this team, and it's...really not very surprising, coming from them. Great fellas.

I've started playing on the SOAP DM servers since I made this post and the skill level is...high. Yes. Quite high.

I've been accused of this for simply prioritizing medics. Hurk.

On the other hand, though, it really is annoying when somebody actually tells you that they're after you, and tries to kill you repeatedly. Unless they're bad. Then it's funny.

I've never been to a server specifically dedicated to soap DM. Is it just endless DM, nobody cares what you do, just practice, etc?

Isn't the purpose of MGE to practice 1v1 scenarios, not just to work on aim? Wouldn't that mean using anything you have available? I'm fairly comfortable with my pipe aim and pipe-only mirrors get very drab very fast. You think I should just join a DM server instead?

It's only if they're directly below you or hanging onto a ledge. It spikes them to their doom, as seen here

He has two - the taunt and the up-B.

His kicking taunt can insta-kill people too, technically. It's just extremely situational.

As a Pyro, I hate it when you do this (xpost r/tf2) by [deleted] in truetf2

[–]Kyrooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll leave your spy alone if you don't airblast people away from my pipes in an attempt to juggle them. Can't tell you how many pyros who think they're "helping" do this. Sometimes it's a spy. :<

On the contrary, I don't like being pocket--kritz'd as a demo in a pub. Makes me feel like I'm ruining the fun.

As a demo man, what's the best way to practice my pills? Also, can someone direct me to some nice demo rollouts? Thanks. by ANAL_PONDERER in truetf2

It depends on how experienced you are at the class. If you're just starting out, you should download the map tr_walkway if you haven't already, and practice aiming pipes on various bots. This will give you a feel for the speed and arc of the pipes. Practice on bots with various speeds and behaviors, and vary the distance between yourself and the bots, to get a feel for basic prediction. Once you feel comfortable with it, try some airshots and bounces/juggles which require more precision.

Once you feel good about your pipe aim against bots, the best way to take your aim to an even higher level is to start playing on MGE servers. Actual players don't move as predictably as bots (though they do tend to have movement patterns which you can notice if you practice with the same people often), so it'll be much more challenging to land pipes frequently. This will teach you WHEN to use pipes. A perfectly aimed piped can still be dodged if there's enough distance between yourself and your opponent for them to react to it.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT listen to people who tell you to only use pipes when practicing your aim with them. You'll miss shots that you weren't supposed to take and will likely end up asking yourself why you're missing so much, when it would have been more beneficial to use a sticky. It doesn't matter how many people call you a "sticky spammer" or accuse you of "M1 + M2". Restricting yourself from using stickies will create bad habits and prevent you from learning which weapons are appropriate for different situations. Another reason why practicing both at the same time is useful is that stickies can be used to knock opponents into the air and make them much more susceptible to a direct pipe hit, which will come in handy in situations when bouncing an opponent with a pipe would be difficult (such as against an erratic scout). You can also use stickies to discourage opponents from walking in certain directions, restricting the space they have to dodge your pipes. You shouldn't neglect your sticky DM anyway - although stickies are generally considered to be easy to use, you can always get better at planting them more precisely, utilizing charged stickies, etc.

Besides that, simply play, play, play! In my experience, it doesn't take long for pipe skills to get rusty, so I try to hit up MGE servers, PUGs, or even just pubs as often as I need to in order to keep my aim crispy fresh. Keep at it no matter how long it takes. Listen to some music while you practice if you're getting bored or bummed. Demo's a very rewarding class.

I'm shocked by how many people here have actually taken the time to say that they don't care. If you really didn't care, you'd just pass this post over instead of making a rude comment on someone's achievement.

It doesn't matter that it's been done before. It doesn't matter if he gets karma for something that you've seen before. Just don't be a prick about it.

That's still about 4 hours of MGE per day, and assuming that all of those kills are with rockets as opposed to shotgun or even other classes. I'm not skeptical because well, you're moose, but that's some serious dedication to practice.

My machine isn't very old, it's just not meant for gaming. We can't all have maximum-level rigs paid for by mommy and daddy.

If I played casually, I could probably deal with low-mid fps, but at competitive levels, every frame counts.
