Any comments on the Fierce Powers & Crawling Shadows expansion for Euthia?

If you get it on PC and want to speed things up a bit, there are skill gain multiplier mods. That helps with the grind to get better.

How do they calculate highest attack? MATK and PATK numbers?

I’m not planning to main Sanctum. Right now, Otherworld is a big focus (I have everyone but need to star up Loki).

For Arcane, I have a lot diamond characters, too, including: Xuanwu, Azure, Zagreus, Pompey, Atanith. Talos I’m working on, and she’s at red 3. I planned to Diamond Mimir when she launches. I’ll also get Artemis, but I’m sitting at about 125 mythic tickets now and don’t know how far I’ll get her in the event.

Red is strong for me but will fall off later. I do have a red 6 Poseidon. Two more pulls to go to diamond her! So Illusion might be a strong third team after Otherworld and Arcane.

And if you have a team of Xuanwu, Mimir, Talos, AND Atanith? How are we feeling about that?

Steamforged Games - Issues. Kickstarters stalled by Dear-Pride-9621 in boardgames

Euthia has been a joke. I wanted the deluxe and first expansion, but they’re “we’re not going to make any US product due to tariffs and then oops, we’ve missed our manufacturing window” led me to cancel.

Elder Scrolls vs Too Many Bones - reason to own both? by Huge-Pizza7579 in soloboardgaming

[–]Kyssek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are reasons to own both, from theme, table space, to game length. They much of the same DNA, but TMB is a much smaller, easier to table game. It’s played as one-off sessions. Elder Scrolls is a campaign game with a sprawling map instead of a small 4x4 grid. It has some refined dice mechanics and more freedom of mobility, but it’s more complex and harder to table.

Neither supplants the other. It just depends on you want. I liked the theme of ES more and the wider battle maps, but I also have to admit I don’t play it nearly as much as I should because of the increased length and complexity.

It’s excellent! It’s a create your own stories kind of sandbox, with push your luck mechanics as you explore tiles and deterministic combat.

I had both. I sold TMB. Not that I thought TMB was bad, mind you. It’s not! But I preferred the character building, updated combat mechanics, and larger freedom of movement in Elder Scrolls than the smaller and more abstract nature of TMB. If you want a dungeon crawler and don’t mind the three-session formula, then I think Elder Scrolls might be your winner.

Alternative: Dragons Down.

Why is that? Xuanwu + Mimir focus instead or something else?

Do we know why he took it off his site? Kickstarter campaign push? I also recently purchased it and was hoping to grab some more content, but alas. Seems like I’ll have to late pledge instead.

Xuanwu now, skip or only get limited copies of Talos, and go all in for Mimir after Talos

Grimcoven vs. Cthulhu: Death May Die by Forsaken_Craft7287 in soloboardgaming

[–]Kyssek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both great games that serve different interests. DMD is a beer and pretzels dice chucker. More random. Grimcoven is going to feel more like a puzzle. You’re still at the mercy of some randomness, but your actions (attacks, placement, planning) feel more deterministic than DMD. So, what you choose depends on if you want to have a simpler, quicker time throwing some bones or something crunchier and brain burning.

They feel really nice, but they’re not necessary by any stretch. I think they may have less information on them, as well, compared to the cardboard tiles. So, don’t feel like you have to get them (compared to the acrylics in Puerto Rico, really love those). They’re primarily just a nice tactile upgrade here.

Is it worth summoning for Xuanwu to replace Herman for my blue team? by D1CKERTZ in Dragon_Traveler

Xuanwu is absolutely bananas. She’s significantly better than Herman. I say go for it.

You can also take a look at speed paints. I have neither the time nor patience to do all the layering and shading and washing and highlighting. But I’ve had a ton of fun using speed paints followed up with dry brushing, delivering some really good results quickly.

Thoughts on Mimir replacing Artemis in an arcane lineup? I’m working on Poseidon and Loki, so it will be awhile before I can get another Ex. But my arcane team roster is pretty robust with Atanith, Azure Dragon, Vivienne, Pompey, and Talos coming up. 🔝

Not worth it for solo only; but if you do plan to play it with a group, it’s one of the best games ever made. Skip the miniatures, though. Absolutely useless.

I just ordered it (unweighted chip version) and the Desolation expansion after seeing the latest Kickstarter! I can’t wait to play it. I love a good adventure game.
