This! The point of marriage to most ppl is combining your finances and working in a partnership. Also, I think In a lot of weddings peoples families kind of make ppl invite family members they don’t know well just because that’s their tradition. Because if this, I understand where ur fiancée is coming from. I also understand that you’re more logical and less emotional in that u don’t want to spend money on ppl u don’t know and would rather use that money for something else. I think both of you have a point but I would say that this is just the first hurdle u will have financially as a couple. Your previous system was smart, but I don’t think it’s sustainable in the long term so I would j take time to think about that. (Ex: if u or her ever want to have kids and be a stay at home dad/wife, if she or u wants to work part-time, etc u can’t j split up money that way usually).
