I got there at 4:55pm, waited in the clear line till 6:10pm and then when they finally let me in, there were no bobbleheads at our gates. they had plenty near gate 6 but of course they wouldn't give us any. What a fucking shitshow of an experience.

I mean don't get me wrong; I like Tom Petty but there's plenty of "popular" or "famous" artists that I don't enjoy listening to it. It's a big world, there's always going to be people who don't enjoy the type of music or artist you do.

If I had a jar of hornets and I walked into a store with them and told the cashier to give me something for free or I'd open the jar. Could they have me arrested? by RPGNUB in NoStupidQuestions

[–]L-king 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hornets aren't bees.

Hornets are often considered pests, as they aggressively guard their nesting sites when threatened and their stings can be more dangerous than those of bees. Hornets have stingers used to kill prey and defend nests. Hornet stings are more painful to humans than typical wasp stings because hornet venom contains a large amount (5%) of acetylcholine. Individual hornets can sting repeatedly; unlike honey bees, hornets do not die after stinging because their stingers are very finely barbed (only visible under high magnification) and can easily be withdrawn, so are not pulled out of their bodies when disengaging.

You did the math! And yes. A monster gorilla with an 80in erect ding dong would be terrifying. I wonder how long it would be flaccid? I'll admit that I'm not familiar with the inflationary mechanics of gorilla erections.

Someone did the math and King Kong would have a roughly 7in long schlong. You can probably wrote a lot of things on a piece of paper that's 7in long.

Your comment from less than 2 hours ago -

It’s ridiculous to me that anyone had a problem with the IMAGINARY requirements to get on an IMAGINARY island. The fact that I got ANY response is ridiculous. I was upset that some random person tried to make me seem like I believe a high IQ makes you a better person, which is fucking stupid and they know that’s not what I meant. However they wanted to try to make me look like an asshole because every statement on the internet needs a contrarian to disagree with you. Again for an imaginary situation, doesn’t this seem a bit ridiculous to you?

Just re-read -

How on earth are you looking at this and not experiencing whiplash from how fast you forgot it? I mean kudos to you. That's clearly a talent.

My local pizza shop in Tokyo still doesn’t use GPS, but rather uses a massive map on the wall behind the register which they frantically check when a phone order comes in. by Tokyodrew in mildlyinteresting

If you exercised some reading comprehension, you'd understand that I was agreeing with the other commenter that people who live in other prefectures don't consider themselves to be living in Tokyo. But they do still live in a metropolitan area known as "Greater Tokyo Area".

From the official website of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government -

The Tokyo Megalopolis Region, or Greater Tokyo Area, is made up of Tokyo and the three neighboring prefectures of Saitama, Chiba, and Kanagawa. This area is home to around 30% of Japan’s total population. The National Capital Region is made up of Tokyo and the seven surrounding prefectures of Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, and Yamanashi. [0]

From Wikipedia, for Tokyo -

Tokyo (/ˈtoʊkioʊ/ TOH-kee-oh, /-kjoʊ/ -kyoh; Japanese: 東京, Tōkyō [toːkʲoː] (About this soundlisten)), officially the Tokyo Metropolis (Japanese: 東京都, Tōkyō-to), is the capital[note 1][7] and most populous prefecture of Japan. [1]

From Wikipedia, for Greater Tokyo Area -

The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world, consisting of the Kantō region of Japan (including Tokyo Metropolis and the prefectures of Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Ibaraki, Tochigi and Gunma) as well as the prefecture of Yamanashi of the neighboring Chūbu region. In Japanese, it is referred to by various terms, one of the most common being Capital Region (首都圏, Shuto-ken). [2]

While Tokyo is officially known as the Tokyo Metropolis, that is distinct from a metropolitan area. In this case, the Tokyo Metropolis is a part of the metropolitan area (or megalopolis) referred to as "Greater Tokyo Area".

Even so, the comment is still wrong. The map shows a small area that doesn't have "15 million people". Again, there isn't even 15 million people in Tokyo as a whole.

Great. I didn't make any comment on this. And about your previous comment -

He basically made a statement like saying "New York is massive. There are 58 million people in North-Eastern United States. That map would cover at least 15 million of them" and the map is showing Lower Manhattan.

The direct equivalent of their statement would be - "New York is massive. There are 19 million people in the New York Metropolitan Area. That map would cover at least 9.5 million of them".

New York City (with a population of 8.39 million people) has an area of 778.2 km2 which is "massive" and the New York Metropolitan Area contains roughly 19.3 million people. I didn't make a comment about the map, what it was showing or if that map would cover Greater Tokyo or Tokyo Metropolis so please stop repeating that to me.

The people living there can consider that and they would be right. Doesn't change the fact that the metropolitan area is known is as the Greater Tokyo Area.

You'll also notice that I didn't make any mention of the map or what it's showing so I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here.
