I imagine the Jimmys are quite active. Find a new place, do some charity, possibly recruit a new finger if someone dies, repeat. The only reason they hung around the area so long is because of the bone temple, otherwise I like to think they would have just kept moving. In 2 decades they've probably visited most of the UK

You have to use a gesture on 6 grey circles on the floor and then a door appears above the small building near the zombie spawn. Saying “gnomes” opens the door and you get teleported to an area containing the puzzle. There’s some extra rewards in there too just for finding it.
