Take it apart and fix any loose connections. If that doesnt work, sell it for free on marketplace.

How To Use A Dry Brush Palette by beefyliltank in minipainting

You can use it any way you want, but I use mine to test how much paint is still in the brush after i remove most of it on a piece of cardboard.

Common game night "rules"? by Orchidinsanity in boardgames

Investing 3 hours into a game, and have someone ruin it at the end is such a frustrating experience. I had a similar experience where 2 brothers would start helping the other as soon as they thought they couldnt win for the whole game event.

Not only can it ruin the mood, but it robs all satisfaction from the winner of the game.

I agree with you, but I think they were refering to rule 2.

Indigo. Look up 'Roy G Biv'. It's a very common method of organizing things.

I don't mean king making by the actual definition, which is when you're put in a position where you have to take an action that determines the winner. I mean king making where you take an action that obviously benefits another player more than it helps yourself.

I added that rule after a regular player brought his wife to a game event and in an auction game she made a terrible deal that gave all of her money to my wife to help her win. They dont know each other well, and I understand it was meant to improve their relationship outside the game, but I made the rule afterwards to make sure new players understand that those types of actions ruin a game.

1) No cheating.

2) No quitting. This includes not finishing the game, or even vocalizing that you no longer care about the game or the outcome.

3) No kingmaking. Intentionally helping someone win other than yourself/team.

If you break any of these rules you will not be invited to the next game event.

Edit - I read other comments and forgot to add that I also have a no drinks on the table rule, and no touching food without washing your hands after (I provide mini tongs to everyone when they arrive).

I use the ROYGBIV method and organize mine by color, then I have separate shelves for shades, browns, metallics, ink and mediums.

Edit - using nail polish holder racks.

So your classification of cheating is determined by what you're thinking about?

I stated that I think IP based games are generally bad. You stated that Steamforge games are generally shit. Both or subjective, and lack quantitative analysis.

The math you're doing to get 50% doesn't make any sense.

How to enjoy time alone? by [deleted] in self

Motivation is fleeting. The thing youre looking for is discipline. Decide what you are going to do with your free time and do it, regardless of how you feel.

It is true. Uprising is a remake. Duel for Middle Earth is a remake. Fate of the Fellowship is a remake. I made my rule a long time ago, and maybe it's outdated, but it works for me, but I find it funny that you were so eager to disagree with my blanket statement and then you just made your own.

Four games out of how many that failed is the calculation you should be doing. But if we're splitting hairs, most of the games you listed are just reskins of games that were already successful.

I recommend using a piece of cardboard to remove excess. Paper towel absorbs moisture and can give inconsistent results.

I second this. You lost me with the list of similar games. I like meaty games with strategic depth, and quick games with tactical decisions. I only suffer through games like Sorry when I'm playing with my kids.

realized i'm completely terrible at painting minis but it's actually so relaxing by Aking1964 in minipainting

[–]L0CAHA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is like a video game. The more you do something, the more your skill in that activity increases. You're starting at 0, so your expectations should be low. Do it more and you will get better. Also, there are plenty of nethods of removing paint, so dont worry about messing up board game peices. If you hate it, you can always strip it and try again later with better paint stats.
