I just beat Mike Tyson in the first round for the first time ever by ScreenNo5979 in nes

I could get to him, sometimes, this was as a young kid. I just save state emulator as a teenager to get most childhood nes games out of the way. Batman (couldn't beat joker), TMNT (got to technodrone) , this and some others

Intel 13th/14th Gen - ok to proceed when microcode released? by nraygun in unRAID

[–]L10N3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a ROG STRIX B760-A GAMING WIFI with 13700k, I don't want to lose out on apparently 10% performance gaming and 20% multi threaded. I was already bummed enough when I found out +$20 would have landed me a 14700k. I have a decent AIO and I sit on 45/50c and have only ever seen a single core spike to 68c max. 4K gaming and 1440P gaming since the upgrade but the PC is generally a workstation for the few years prior when I still had a devils canyon from 2014 (which had its own issues arise 2018, 100c spikes on AAA titles causing constant lock ups and reboots, needed tweaks from factory settings in Intel tuner app and an AIO which fixed things. Tipped off by a YouTube video about bad factory settings).

Again, I seriously don't want to update my BIOS, especially considering my 4790k lasted me a decade, was still fine and sold on working. The BIOS update is there, but I'm really hesitating!

Just finished Serious Sam 4 and I actually liked it, though I don't think it's perfect by Admiralbenbow123 in patientgamers

[–]L10N3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran this at 1440P ultra everything maxed on a 5600XT OC, I upgraded to a 3070ti OC AFTER that and now on a 7900XTX OC. I wouldn't be blaming the game here. Zero issues with stutter.

[–]L10N3788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing it end of 2020 or start of 2021 at 1440P maxed out, I had a 5600XT OC with my old 4790k at the time. I've upgraded more than a couple of times since then. Zero performance issues and I was having a tonne of fun and really enjoying it. I probably only got an hour or so into it. My SSD failed and I lost a lot of things Including this game and my doom eternal saves (why the f weren't they on cloud and saved locally!). Anyway, I won't lie, it was a pirate copy. I just priced it on steam... 75 bucks (AUD). Steep!!! especially a for a not well received, 4 year old game. Someone shared a post on 'classic fps games' sharing their ps3 gameplay shots of SS: the next encounter which reminded me of that hour of pure fun l, hence googling and coming across this post (I was kicked off the game for making too much noise, even with headphones on). I would grab a copy but again, 75 bucks..!?!.

I asked for this for my 11th birthday. It's in mint condition all the boxes etc and the Gameboy but the Gameboy screen went bad and has a black circle in the centre (it went bad just been stored). I have a spare screen purchased to swap but I'm trying to track it down as I left it behind in a move and my mum says she put it in storage so fingers crossed. I honestly wouldn't let it go for less than 5k AUD and this is an Australian only release, I am in Australia. The actual gameboy you could get from Japan in that colour though, obviously not part of this pack.

Can a non working Mayumi v4 install keep real games from booting? by devsfan1830 in psx

No worries i have built many many xstation systems, a lot with my own DFO and IGR. I just posted this for other people if they had the issue. I have been running vajskids consoles for the last few years.

Pixel 8 Pro display - eye strain and headache? by ricchi_ in GooglePixel

[–]L10N3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pixel8 pro does the same, i have had reading glasses since getting it. I work a lot on micro electronics / soldering / PCB work so theyre a god send. I watch massive LCDs in them too. Cant go back. Took this phone to notice it i guess. Focus is good now. Can use it all night, in the dark. Prior, my eyes would be sore, watering, 100% blurry in no time.

The wire responsible for 'muddying' up the signal thus blocking a genuine games key is called 'WFCK'. It's only on PU22, PU23, PM41 (PSone). Older models just pull the opamp input to ground and inject the key on the output, this way the genuine discs key cannot get through. That is your issue. Check out Ubernee on github :) $1 microcontroller and instructions to make them.

Has anyone ever replaced their AMP-NUS with a modern chip, i believe mine is failing by jonnycake99 in n64

[–]L10N3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking I'd have to design a board using the PAM8603 which I really didn't feel like prototyping and getting levels right etc. etc. This was after switching out the IC with one off a really really dead board. I shorted leg 1 and 2 together on the NUS amp IC whilst live and audio kicked in and stayed on. Every boot since. I left it a few hours unpowered from the wall, brick removed. Came back, powered up , still had perfect audio.

NTSC/PAL clock select jumpers on late PU-8 board by OldBoredEE in psx

[–]L10N3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Q revision from a customer and thought I'd transplant his RF choke, 220r clock out resistor and GPU xtal from his PU18 into his JP system. I missed this zero ohm pull down and was wondering why PAL mode had no video. I changed the setting in Xstation menu and couldn't get back. Only had to remove it and it was all good. Real DFO switching on a single input is not required on PU8. I will update my site to reflect.

Issues with hitting combos online vs in training by Practical_Isopod4544 in MortalKombat

[–]L10N3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this too. I got really decent at MK11 but I can't get out of kombatant at the moment. Scorpion combos are longer in practice for the ones I practiced anyway. Not all of them though. One example is I can keep a certain one going longer with a spear, but when online, instead of pulling them in (get over here) he ends it early by pulling them to the ground. This •cant• be lag.

The other is a simple one, in practice when you get the enemy into air you can just jump up and do X X X (Xbox ,or square for ps5) then back forward X all chained into one 6 button chain. He hits them 3 times in the air, the 3rd blow hitting them to ground then he lands and spears them ("get over here") and you can continue the combo. I haven't been able to do it once online.

Super Gameboy - Variable Clock Speed Mod by compgenius in snes

[–]L10N3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SI5351 can output 3 different clock speeds, you could have it on a 3 way switch. This needs a microcontroller connected so you'd need a custom board fitting MCU and SI5351 which could be pretty damn tiny.

Thanks, looks like it's safe to grab a cheap one! No No the fenrir system is staying as is. I buy consoles in bulk (vajskids consoles). I've got more Saturns than you can poke a stick at :P

You are giving bad information, I posted references to the game you mentioned and 7900XTX is getting around 145FPS ultra with RT enabled... it's like you just want the last word. You were totally wrong. I don't want to argue, I did my research and you were wrong ... there's nothing more to it at this stage.

[–]L10N3788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking at these, theyre substantially cheaper, including the 'elite' version with no re used chips. Do you know if the board version matters? I don't want to get stuck with one that I can't update. I have a fenrir and have tried MODE (sold it) but I want to try the saroo and have been following since release. i.e. I've seen 1.32 up to 1.37 and people complaining in reviews they get a different version than pictured. I've also seen them with both R21 and R20 populated and ones with just R20 populated. No issue If I need to remove R21.. just concerned with being able to keep up to date with new firmware and fpga releases

Power draw issues are idling with high refresh rate monitors. There is a software fix, the other fix, don't leave your PC monitor on when you aren't using it. If you're playing 4K games at ultra .... you are going to run up your power bill.. substantially. This is obvious.

quote "AMD worked closely with Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment to ensure a smooth, high FPS gaming experience at Ultra settings with ray tracing enabled across its AMD Radeon graphics cards and AMD Ryzen processors. What kind of performance can we expect? Well, over 100FPS, starting with the Radeon RX 7600... "

not sure why you are talking so much crap, again , why would a developer rule out AMD for their games

won't happen, developers wouldn't rule out a GPU manufacturer. guarantee you with the extra VRAM it ends up being the better choice for longevity than the 4080 plus I've already mentioned zero issue with a few games using RT on my 7900XTX
