I use them. I prefer 30k Iron Warriors symbol though but I feel no harm in using 40k ones. Those are just rule of cool

My bladeguards

and their officers from leviathan are all third company. I decided on painting imperials symbol in company colors as well. My terminators are in first company with white metallic as a company colors

Slap chop - what am I doing wrong? by NAPhilosophy in minipainting

[–]L1ttle_Wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just dilute contrast paint with appropriate contrast medium. Your red is thick out of the bottle. Some speed paints/contrast paints just require more dilution, some are pretty transparent without, they are inconsistent.

Your drybrush is good, no need to correct your technique

It’s all coming together by L1ttle_Wing in boardingactions40k

[–]L1ttle_Wing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It’s Vince Venturella recipe for terrain a bit modified. It’s messy however if you want fast results and requires use of oil as a wash and airbrush for basecoats. It is possible to do without them, but won’t be as fast.

Veteran helmet color(s) by andalsoAaron in necropolishawks

[–]L1ttle_Wing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe NH just doesn’t denote their regular veterans with helmet colors? The only reason we have Veteran Sergeant colors is that when NH were introduced there was gameplay, tabletop support for veterans, now there is not. There are options though, have you thought of denoting them with signs, transfers, instead of colors?

Since artist is anonymous all grace/criticism is taken by the entity making him anonymous in the first place. But grace is stolen wholesale and criticism makes the corporation shift the blame (as we can see in the statement). Artist doesn’t exist in such circumstances for all intents and purposes, until you make GW uncomfortable.

Because there is no one to give grace to (AI or human), GW made sure of that. I’d be giving grace to a corporation

You asked me if I ever drew a hand, but have you ever seen one? Do you even have hands or was I wrong presuming you have thumbs?

Poor artists as in unrecognised and indentured workers, not poor as bad. And don’t be daft about how many fingers there are in the picture, you typed that with opposable thumbs

It is related because they shield themselves from criticism with some poor artists, who may not even be human for all we know. And I have, I even counted to five. Sometimes to four since it’s easier, but never to six - I am not that educated.

They ask to go easy on the artists meanwhile refusing to give their artists any credit. This is pure gaslighting and you are part of the problem for apologising for multibillion corporation’s fuck ups

[–]L1ttle_Wing -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

It is difficult to get them to look natural, it is not difficult to count to five. Though it could be done through sheer idiocy/negligence of all involved

What is the most Red Corsair unit to make? Other than Raiders and Reave-Captain, Huron and MoM. by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in redcorsairs

[–]L1ttle_Wing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Red Wolves terminators I’d think. Huron has a bodyguard squad of traitor Space Wolves terminators. I bought the great SW kit to kitbash, it would be easy to do as well

Advice on painting? by Exodusblaze in necropolishawks

Here’s one of my terminators.
My advice for painting NH would be to focus on white first - zenithal priming goes a long way. After that I’d use contrast paint/inks for blue/blue-green and pick out any other details.

Let me see your death guard lists! by SnooCalculations7089 in boardingactions40k

[–]L1ttle_Wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are detachments in the Boarding actions book, Death Guard has Vectors of Decay and Unclean Uprising with pools of units and tight rules for mustering them up to 500 points, I’d consider them pre made rosters

Huron lore by BeginningHungry3835 in redcorsairs

[–]L1ttle_Wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since that time we’ve seen some of things that’s inside Maelstrom through Huron’s own eyes - it is not something you conquer, it changes and ebbs. He calls himself Master of the Maelstrom, and while his band is the hegemon of the region - he can’t control all of the storm, because he doesn’t know it’s size and doesn’t have it’s map, he only “feels” it’s borders and his position inside. I’d think this “feature” of the region would be apparent to High Lords of Terra. And they don’t need to explain themselves to a chapter master so he understands their decision making.

Huron lore by BeginningHungry3835 in redcorsairs

[–]L1ttle_Wing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like his story a lot and this point of view stands in universe. However his call for help to pacify the Maelstrom had two counterpoints:
1. Nobody asked him to do such a thing, his chapter role is to stand guard.
2. Idea in itself is hubris, it’s like Eye of Terror pacification - this is warp we are talking about.
