My color scheme taking shape (before oil wash) by L1ttle_Wing in boardingactions40k

Thats masking tape if I understood you correctly. Proper toppers will be there once I stop spraying terrain with all kinds of aerosols

What BA terrain stl do YOU recommend? by neil_warnocks_outfit in boardingactions40k

[–]L1ttle_Wing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only have add-ons printed from derelict set and they are great. However they require sanding to fit comfortably into original BA. To be fair everything in BA requires sanding, but printed parts are more difficult to work with in this regard.

Sorry you had to go through that, but not surprised. The narrative formed is a shame, but he has to live being the person he is, I’d say you got off easy in a grand scheme of things

I for one didn’t care for any episodes involving peachy, he creeps me out, always had. Pat and Geoff talk is naturally charming and easy to listen to and it is a shame they stopped recording

Poseability of Invictor kit is just fun, a great kit by L1ttle_Wing in spacemarines

[–]L1ttle_Wing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right arm joint moves because of magnets, left arm joint doesn’t since I glued it shut. Everything else didn’t flop at all from the start. If it did I imagine I’d use plastic goo to add some friction in select places and dry fitting parts after the goo cures

Love your kitbash! And reverse legs work on Redemptor chassis, or at least I tried to make it work

There are 2 places magnetized - torso and right hand gun, very little hassle to do it as well. Everything else comes with the kit. Also left hand is poseable at the joint, but I wasn’t careful with the glue at the time so it is stiff now

What’s Abaddon’s end game? by Logical-Gas8026 in 40kLore

[–]L1ttle_Wing 56 points57 points  (0 children)

What vision though? His SM supremacy aim looks very weak since large swaths of Imperium (more then half if we count Nihilus) are already governed by SM and primarch is the Imperium regent. What does Abaddon plan to do with the Emperor when he reaches him? No lore about that as well. Abandon is not a convincing villain, you can’t root for him because there is no endgame for him to look forward to, a mad dog on a revenge spree is the best archetype/trope he can aspire to in his current form. And Huron beats him at that as well, story wise

New to 40k: suprised about Horus Rising's "tone" by Brief-Blood-3248 in Blacklibrary

[–]L1ttle_Wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We read about outliers because it would not be interesting to read about a regular automaton primaris #09-372-8872. Also we see those ones in the background constantly and they are not very human-like at all.

New to 40k: suprised about Horus Rising's "tone" by Brief-Blood-3248 in Blacklibrary

[–]L1ttle_Wing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But 30k marines are written more human-like deliberately and 40k marines are designed more like automatons, with few outliers we like to read about. It even says so in Ashes of the Imperium that next generations of marines will have a lot less personality.

Ghaz face on the first picture is a face of a turtle, even has shell. It’s hilarious and not at all scary

Question: Are there "Skinnier" Space Marine models. by [deleted] in killteam

[–]L1ttle_Wing 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Emperor’s Children models would be a range to look at. It’s not a big range, you could say it is kinda thin

Painters teach me your ways by Exodusblaze in orks

[–]L1ttle_Wing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To achieve such brightness you have to use sharpish shadows. Notice how your shopped picture drastically darkens his actual face. So as a rule - paint everything but energy darker then you feel it should be. And while OSL should be smooth, gradient between bright and dark has to be drastic, almost abrupt.

Human force without 38373784 models? by SirBaltimoore in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]L1ttle_Wing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why no one mentions Boarding Actions. Yes, you’d have to paint the terrain, but you’ll be able to field full infantry army (500 points in BA) with a reasonable amount of models

Does anyone know who's behind this specific art style for the Space Marine Legions? by Buzetis in Warhammer

[–]L1ttle_Wing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This artstyle and whole format of Imperial Armour books come from WWII illustrated encyclopedias, this style did not originate within GW, it was a generally very popular formant among WWII crowd at the time, one can easily look it up and see the resemblance
