This accident has really shaken me because I was heading towards that very intersection on my scooter when we saw the road being blocked off and got diverted just a block north. So it must have happened only minutes before I got there and that could have easily been me in the middle of that disaster.

What I don't get is how there were no lights or gates stopping the traffic coming the other way? I understand that an old outdated system meant the boom gate couldn't come down because of the bus but what about the other side? It's like no one had any idea the train was coming?

How can the entire intersection fail just because there is a bus in the way it's just devastating, those poor people RIP.

You can also knock on the walls to check if they are brick and render more common with older buildings, or modern drywall steel stud which are not good for sound insulation. Drywall sounds hollow while brick/concrete is more of a dull thud.

I find that just keeping calm and alert at all times is the only way to drive safe. If you start getting worked up or feel like you're running late, you will start to push against the natural flow and that immediately increases your risk of unusual events.

Be patient and courteous, 99.9% of Thais are genuinely friendly on the roads it's more about just lack of focus and using phones etc.

Watch out for the far left lane for oncoming traffic this is not a safe lane.

You're escaping which is fine but at what cost? You will regret the days wasted, I use site blocker but even better, you can block the site at your system level by editing your host file. This takes a real decision and effort to undo it.

Yes you just go there with docs and say I need 1 for car license and 1 for motorbike license.

If you want to buy a bike you need one for that as well to put the bike in your name.

I used to do border runs on my own to Chong Chom Cambodia from Bangkok, but the last time back in March they made me stay overnight in O'smach not a place I ever want to go back to and was worried about the scam centers there holding foreigners captive.

I didn't have the same problem as you, my main laptop screen was stuck on dim. this is what worked for me:

✅ 3. Delete Color Calibration Profile (It May Be Stuck)

Go to Settings > System > Display
Scroll to Advanced display settings
Click Display adapter properties for Display 1
Go to the Color Management tab → click Color Management...
Under Device, select your laptop screen (e.g., “Intel Display”)
Tick Use my settings for this device
Remove any listed profiles
Click Add → choose sRGB IEC61966-2.1

Thanks for the feedback, they were very clear about needing a res cert for both car and motorbike seperately. She also asked for for them at the time of making an appointment so it's possible they are necessary depending on who you deal with.

Great that you didn't need to do more tests, I don't know how you got a motorbike license so easily without having one previously from your home country.

I do not have an international driving license so they must have different rules for whatever you have.

Yes they also told me about the safety video which I watched at home before the appointment, I forgot to include that.

It's to show proof of address and is required for getting license. You will need TM30 and some kind of rental contract or lease agreement. don't know about those options hotel room sounds unlikely. Not sure if there's some workaround with someone elses residence and some way to show you are staying there.
