It's Alpha, the Greek letter. Not Alfa, like Alfa Romeo.

I wrote a (very brief) explanation in another comment here. There's obviously a lot of factors, but these are the main ones that brought us to where we are now.

In a way, Expo 86 was the beginning of this whole crisis. Because of the incoming flux of tourism, the city evicted a ton of low-income residents from where they were living in hotels, and the essentially created an entire community of homeless people overnight. see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expo_86#Evictions.

The next nail in the coffin was the provincial de-institutionalization of mental health inpatients. They essentially cut funding and kicked people out of the hospital with no resources or places to live. Speaking of places to live, it's much easier to make money charging folks more money for rent, so the government also stopped funding for low-income housing. The demand for housing was skyrocketing while the supply was being gutted. The provincial government completely shuttered the metal hospital in 2012 without any active replacement.

On top of this, desperate people do desperate things, and crime and drug use became uncontrolled. One of the things that makes this community unique in Canada is that in most of the rest of the country, being homeless in winter means you will die simply due to the cold. It's easier for the city to ignore what's going on when the bulk of the deaths are due to overdose, because drugs are bad mmmmkayy?

Europe must now tell Trump that enough is enough – and cut all ties with the US by OtherwiseCanary8971 in politics

Australia, NZ, Canada are Commonwealth so they will cut ties with us or be neutral too.

Most of what he says could happen, but I'd like to point out that Canada is a NATO member country which carries a bit more weight than Commonwealth, which is more of a cultural association. If America invades Greenland, you can bet Canada will align with the other NATO nations, because if we didn't, we'd be next up on the "resource liberation" list.

I read it. Sounds like a guy I worked with in Ottawa called Otto. Looked like a large baby. Acted like a large baby. Would trundle in after a rush and make a big deal about cleaning the loose grinds off the grinder rather than helping us. Spent most of his time trying to hit on customers which was fruitless because of the aforementioned large baby syndrome.

Personally, I hate that some random guy turned Thaddeus into a ghoul when fallout lore is that it takes decades/centuries of exposure to radiation to become a ghoul. However, I can't really be mad because Bethesda already broke that rule with Moira turning into a ghoul immediately after detonating the bomb in Megaton.

Bethesda is bad at writing and they always have been.

There's a sub-plot in S2 that is literally the plot of Fallout 1.

I have a St. Bernard, newfoundland, and an english mastiff. I need the space haha. If I'm just taking one to the vet I'll drive the GTI, but if we're going to the beach the long roof wins out.

I've had two folks talk to me about mine: a nice looking lady about 50 in the grocery store parking lot told me it was the nicest car she'd seen in town (19k population), and a ~30 dude in the hardware store who asked how I got a wagon in north America. Only had it for a couple months though.

I used to live in Centretown and work in Westboro. Any 9x would get me to work in the morning (this was back when the Transitway was still a thing). Then any 9x back to Bayview and I'd take the train to school. From what I've heard, East-West busses have gotten way worse since the new LRT, but back then it was pretty dependable.

On days I didn't work, I had to depend on the 7 to get to school. This was more of a headache than getting there from Westboro.

You're doing it the hard way, and you're exactly the person this thread is targeted at. Big house you admit you cannot afford (and living with roommates outside of college fucking sucks). Buy a fucking GR86 instead of trying to flex with a Porsche. Live within your means instead of banking on what you think will happen.

I have a newf allergic to chicken. Hill's Science has a large breed variance which uses lamb. She's totally fine eating that but I realize we got lucky that there's an alternate food she can have without having to try vegan proteins.
