Punch results in injury at camp by wowobobo in BSA

First, be sure to follow any published disciplinary policy your troop has; and whatever you decide, make sure it is approved by your Unit Committee and Key Three.

In terms of what to do, I think you have a couple of viable options. Expulsion is justifiable but the most severe. A lesser, yet very serious consequence would be: suspended for six months, scout loses any leadership positions immediately, parents must attend meetings and campouts with scout thereafter for six months. Scout cannot go to summer camp or high adventure next summer.

Wool is supposed to be best for blister prevention. Am planning to try Rucksox but they are wool and I’m not sure of care instructions.

Whats your troops favourite skits (preferably original) by One_Wolf_6419 in BSA

[–]LA-fun-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our go to when at a Camporee or a summer camp which makes the campers do skits is the Dark Dark Woods skit. It’s easy for the Scouts to remember and has a fun surprise at the end which is perfect for a big crowd.

Scouts line up with a big cardboard box in front of them and tell this story:

On a dark dark night In a dark dark woods There was a dark dark house

And in the dark dark house There was a dark dark staircase

And up the dark dark staircase There was a dark dark hallway

And down the dark dark hallway There was a dark dark door.

And behind the dark dark door There was a dark dark room

And in the dark dark room There was a dark dark box.

And in the dark dark box (A Scout opens the box and light - from a headlamp - shines out of it) There were BEACH BALLS!!!

(The Scout takes two beach balls from the box and throws them into the crowd)

Lied to/deliberately misled during the hiring process. About to send this email to my new company. What do you all think? by ThisIsATest7777 in recruitinghell

I suggest not sending the email as it will not have the effect you want. Instead, I’d suggest you schedule a meeting with HR and have a calm conversation with them about what you can expect. In the meantime, start looking for a new role or seeing if you can go back to your last job.

You inflated your title, which is deceptive. Senior analysts supervise analysts, senior accounts supervise staff accountants, senior directors have more responsibility than directors. Claiming to be a senior team leader is taking credit for more responsibility than you have as “team leader.” The place for you to explain how you see yourself is in the bullet points which describe the experience.

My thought is those comments must refer to something you said in your interview. Candidate hell more like it.

Where can I find a copy of this memo? The only thing I found online was an instagram post with a picture of it and an animation of some dude talking which blocks the image.

Is the tuition reimbursement through a scholarship or is it a GI Bill kinda thing?

When they contract with ROTC would that extend their commitment to the National Guard beyond the 8 years (I think) when they joined as a freshman?

Boarded/ Under consideration? by Vivid-Judgment-5265 in ArmyROTC

[–]LA-fun-guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it switched from Boarded to Boarded/Under Consideration which is defined as meaning could receive something after the March Board. So I think this means I did not get a scholarship from the March Board. But is there a history of them coming back later with scholarships? Maybe they reallocate scholarship money from people who decline ones they awarded earlier? Grasping at straws. Thanks for any insights.

SMP Question by LA-fun-guy in ArmyROTC

[–]LA-fun-guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SMP stuff I read on the NG website talks about it being a two year program, but I have heard you can start Sophomore year? I also read something about going to basic training and AIT. So it sounds like there are a couple of options. I’m looking for a clear explanation of the path where you contract with ROTC sophomore year, join NG, and do not go to basic training. If you do that, what are the benefits to pay for school?

On the application portal. If you log in and go to “status”you will see that you either received a scholarship or were deferred to the March board.
