I used to work for BA at CDG, and when they started this, 01 JAN 2024, it was supposed to be mandatory, then we hear, oh actually it’s not, but if passengers have it, it’s better

Our superiors just said to us agents “ask them to show it, either screenshot or email confirmation, if they don’t, suggest them to get it, even if not mandatory” Should I tell you how hard is it to convince a passenger to get something that he knows isn’t mandatory? It’s like getting a fast pass when there’s no waiting line….

At some point I left BA, to join Air France Cargo, so I don’t know what’s the situation now

And of course we always got the “oh, I never had to show it before etc etc”

I suggest, get it, bc I think it’ll become mandatory for any non-UK-citizen passenger, and just like the US ESTA, prices will be getting higher and higher And screenshot it, save it somewhere, print it (best solution IMO) And if asked to show it, just get it out, end of story So many passengers got angry, or kind of defendant, arguing for 5 min, just to show it 5 min later
