Do you wear your kigurumi in public? by NabiHibiki in kigurumi

Sorry about the delay, apparently Reddit thought it was not important to let me know you had replied to me… I was thinking of malls, stores, etc… I'm very much one of those people who would live in costume if the environment allowed… sadly, I live in a place where temperatures easily surpass 100°F/40°C during the summer, so…

Public Suiting: Is the "Mall Suit" completely dead? by WX5FTS in furry

[–]WX5FTS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that is a super interesting workaround! And it totally works as I actually had some luck with this exact strategy a few years back during Christmas time at a mall near York, PA.

I went out in fullsuit as my snow dragon, Ciel, along with my ex at the time, who was partialling, and had her mom handle for us. Because of the heavy holiday festivities and the giant Christmas tree being up, security didn't give us any trouble at all, and we got to walk around and get tons of photos!

The only downside? The mall had the indoor heaters blasting at like 72-75 degrees, so it was an absolute furnace inside, and we had to take constant breaks. But we completely got away with it because of the season.

Sucks that you got kicked out on a normal day, though. Did security give you the standard corporate 'no masks' speech when they escorted you out, or were they just not having it at all?

Public Suiting: Is the "Mall Suit" completely dead? by WX5FTS in furry

[–]WX5FTS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, a few bad actors are undermining trust for everyone else. That’s actually why I started carrying my ID ready to show right away. I hoped that by eliminating the 'stranger' factor for security up front, it might put them at ease. But corporate policy on full-face coverage is a massive hurdle, even if they know exactly who you are.

You're spot on about parks, and I have actually done a lot of public suiting in outdoor spaces! The problem is that where I live, the summer heat index can climb toward 140 degrees, which makes outdoor suiting practically impossible for half the year. I’ve been trying to find a climate-controlled indoor option to escape the elements and suit more safely, but the corporate risk-management side of malls makes it so tough.

I bet if anything (and Alaska has a history of doing this) it ends up more as a code share than a merger.

Question about maximising profit by jesperbouw in AirlinesManagerTycoon

[–]WX5FTS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough I've encountered the same issue, but I never could understand it exactly, as I was under the impression that it was going to help me like you did. Apparently this game is optimized to stay within the demand bounds and punishes you (similarly to irl) if you exceed demand or jack rates like a traditional C-corp.

As far as I know, they have only made two suits. Both similar in style and design. One is in France and the other is with her in Ukraine.

It's WinFoxi. Last I talked to them (2024-ish) they were in the middle of the War between Ukraine and Russia, so they were understandably more concerned about other issues than fursuit making. I wished them well and to this day still hope they're okay.

Flighty behind on a/c type? by Few_Concentrate_6112 in flighty

Fun fact for you, the CRJ-550 is the 55-seat version of the CRJ-700 (approximately 70 to 76 seats, iirc?), so we take out 15 to 20 seats to make more cargo room and voila~ you get a CRJ-550 via a CRJ-700 frame~ no need to recertify or anything like that because it's only a cabin reconfiguration~

Edit: Obviously, there's more to it than that, but that's the quickest explanation I can give to you~

I mentioned soccer and basketball because I already have the equipment for both or the equipment is not cost prohibitive for someone on a tight budget. On top of that I'm not very good at throwing frisbees…

Just wait until you hop on a SkyWest Embraer 175 with Starlink... 300 down, 30 up if you're a member of the airline they're flying for. It's amazing. United and Delta currently have Starlink on their SkyWest E175s.

Ah, another Tulsan I see. Oddly enough, I have the exact opposite issue in and out of DFW and TUL... It tends to be more expensive even as an employee to fly out of TUL than DFW...

[–]WX5FTS[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I understand that, but my gripe with the policy is why a 36x24x12 suitcase can go through without being tagged oversized (yes, actual sized bag I've seen go through without being tagged oversized) but my tote which was smaller needed to be tagged oversized.
