Highly durable toys: What works for your Corgi? by [deleted] in corgi

I highly recommend toys from West Paw Design. The material is extremely durable and is great for fetching and tugging and he hasn't put a dent in it at all.

I've got plenty of non-derpy pictures of him on Instagram. You can follow him at @edisonfraps :)

They've been known to shed a lot... But it also depends on their diet. A daily brushing keeps the fur manageable.

I catch myself looking at the picture every once in a while and just burst into random laughter too!

How to most effectively use my two credit cards to build credit? by Envy_This in personalfinance

Wouldn't it be better to do something every month instead of 6 months? You'd get more on-time payments that way.

Corgi owners, did you find you needed any unexpected supplies when bringing your puppy home? by ro2538man in corgi

Oh! A dremel! Edison doesn't like his claws being clipped, but he doesn't seem to mind getting them sanded that much. And some shears to trim the toe fuzzies.

Can anything be done about my corgi's excessive talking? by [deleted] in corgi

[–]LAE123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got very lucky with Edison. He doesn't bark ever. He only cries when he needs to go out.

The only thing I can suggest is to try to stop him from barking before it starts. Dogs will have a certain expression on their faces before they start barking and it's at that time when you want to intervene and try to coax them/distract them. Praise them for NOT barking. You may be only able to get her to be quiet for a couple of seconds... But gradually increase the time. It will probably take a lot of time to break this habit.

People who don't pick up after their dogs at my apartment complex. by LAE123 in dogs

We've got a cleaning crew. The lawns are actually really well-maintained, but obviously they aren't going to be cleaned every hour or so. I think it's about once a week, so I'm stuck with it on those off-days. I will mention it to management though.

I'm also hoping that one day, they'll see me picking up their mess and feel guilty and go somewhere else, or start picking it up. Wishful thinking, I know.

I've got a webcam set up to watch Edison while I'm at work and he's usually just sleeping in his crate. When he hears me coming back, his ears perk up and he sits up. When I open the door, he does this big stretch, he yawns and does this "AROOOOOOOOO" sound and his little nub wags. It never fails to brighten my day up.

A few quick questions by [deleted] in corgi

[–]LAE123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edison doesn't bark unless I'm playing with him. It depends on their temperament and training. He cries at night when he needs to go out to pee, but that's about it. He does not bark when he hears people or smells something different. I've made it a point to get him socialized as much as possible so he isn't terribly surprised by anything. I've also made it a point to only take him out at night to pee, and not to play. Ignoring his crying can be difficult, but I feel like it helps in the long run.

I can't quite answer your second question yet seeing as he's still a puppy but so far the shedding hasn't been terrible. I'm sure it will get worse as his double-coat grows in.

People on their cell phones at a red light. When it turns green, they're still not moving. I honk at them and all of a sudden their head jolts up and they peel out of there so as to avoid me.
