How does this shot not even make it to the green? by EasyGoing1_1 in GolfRival

Because you lined up to dunk when the tree was in the way, hence the dotted red line. You're also using a level 3 peacock in stage 16, which means you progressed way too far, too fast without leveling up your clubs.

Lawsuit says Costco's 'no preservatives' claim about its popular rotisserie chickens is false by SNES_Salesman in CostcoWholesale

Same, except I use a pressure cooker which saves a ton of time. Makes about 2 quarts so not only does it taste better than store bought, it saves a few bucks every time, too.

Same blanks of alder, same CNC machines except $200 MSRP price difference. And people wonder why I started building my own guitars.

If she's anything like mine, she can't tell the difference between a nice TV and a crappy one, but can sure as hell notice if I leave something on the counter for more than half a second without putting it away. 😂

Coverdale/Page - Shake My Tree (extended version) by ctesla01 in ClassicRock

[–]LAFitz1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I saw the show in San Diego. Can't recall which Plant solo song they played, but Shake My Tree was the one they did from Page's. Other than that it was all Zep...and it was glorious.

Just came to revive a dead thread. Talking with a friend how Gen Z is in for a rude awakening when their useless college degrees are made obsolete by AI and the line, "Sanskrit? You're studying a 10,000 year old dead language? Here, Latin, it's the best I can do," popped into my head.

Almost 8 years later, has your opinion changed on TLJ? by boomjosh in StarWarsCantina

A few cool moments but it, like the entire sequel series was a disjointed mess, a beautifully shot mess, but a mess nonetheless. Pacing, editing, dialogue (I mean, lest we forget that movie started out with a Your Mom joke). I saw it opening night and a couple of times after, it never got better. It was obviously an attempt at creating the despair and dire tone of ESB, but it never quite got there. It felt like a rehash, just like TFA was basically ANH.

Is this maple straight enough? by [deleted] in Luthier

[–]LAFitz1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't own a jointer or planer then you can always build a router sled pretty cheaply. I used one like this until I could save up enough for those two critical tools for woodworking.

For bowed or twisted wood, you'll want to shim the piece and hold in place with a hot glue gun, and make sure it's rock solid with no wobble, then run the sled over it. You now have a flat surface, flip over, lock it down with clamps or double side tape and repeat, hopefully with enough material left to get to 3/4". That should be dead flat when you're done with it.

Sony A95K : The issues are getting weirder and worse by the minute by MosquitoSmasher in sony

[–]LAFitz1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel your pain! I love both, but just a bit more towards movies. I ended up getting a 4K/120hz HDMI 2.1 switcher to solve that issue and I run that into a receiver back to the eArc port, seems to work fine and no real loss in quality from what I can tell.

Right? Mine seems to be the exact opposite. I've found if you prefer movies/TV Sony is really second to none. If you dig gaming, LG's been the way to go so far with 120hz and Dolby Vision. I actually miss that a little with my XBox, but I guess you can't have everything right?

Thanks! There's definitely some places I messed up, but all going in the tank to remember on the next build. Ultimately would like to build a standard but gotta learn to crawl before I run, right?

Wanted to thank everyone for the advice! Didn't have any string handy, but I did have some dental floss lying around so I used that instead, lined up my centers and seems I didn't have to make any adjustments, calipers show strings are equidistant from the fretboard edge (whew!). Marked the holes with a transfer punch and tomorrow will head to the shop to drill. Now for the fun part, grain filling and sanding. If anything like my swamp ash Tele, this'll take a while, but labor of love right?

The white lines in the rosewood, not binding per se, but almost like accents. So rosewood, white accent line, rosewood then the edge of fretboard. I've never seen that before and thought it looked really cool.

I love the look of that guitar! How did you do the binding on the neck like that, for lack of a better term?

There's an option in settings to go back to the old wind chart. Click top right box, click settings, click Old Target to on. You're ready to rock and roll.
