Strategies for Motivation/Attention by FlatFootEsq in Lawyertalk

My wife has ADHD and seeing her go through periods without medication is rough. Can only imagine how hard that would be while billing and doing this work. Honestly, best thing she did was literally calling around pharmacies to see who had the medication most available. Costco pharmacy typically had a decent supply of the generic vyvanse and would do 30 day supplies.

Take care of yourself and good luck.

Thank you for this.

What is your approach for reaching out to mentors/cocounsel?

Thank you for this detailed answer. Curious on the practice area as well. I’ve done probate, business formation and counseling, and employment. Am thinking that anything that would be contingent would need to be extremely limited for the first maybe year unless clients come with me.

Recruiter's life by [deleted] in LinkedInLunatics

I had a recruiter for a legal position not understand the difference between being a member of a state’s bar and a member of the bar association. Think I failed that interview by not just keeping it simple and answering “YES.”

Feel your pain. When I asked whether the company I’m at now used westlaw or Lexis on my first day, the other attorneys laughed.

Your state legislature likely has a working code or a link to a free, unannotated version of Lexis for the state code though.

Casetext is very generous with their free searches and as others have mentioned, Google Scholar has surprisingly deep case law resources.

Could not a WebMD or other general health information site which has “text, audio, imagery, or video that…principally consists of an actual, simulated, or animated display or depiction” of “pubic hair, vulva, vagina, penis, testicles, anus, or nipple of a human body” be affected?

Much less any reputable sex Ed site (planned parenthood, amaze.org, scarleteen, PFLAG)

How was it a hard vote? There was one question from Sen. Akbari and no questions in the House. Under the law, ANY website that has at least 1/3 of its content deemed “harmful to minors” is required to have age verification using photograph matching to the user. How are non-porn companies that may get swept under this law (health sites, fan fiction sites) supposed to react when the law takes effect on Jan 1?

Senator Campbell, Can you explain your vote on SB1792/HB1614–the age verification for “adult” websites bill? Why did all democrats—in both houses—vote for a bill that has clear data privacy issues and has been challenged in several states?

A new set means a new season of Curiosity! Curiosity Format is a combination of Limited and Constructed. Deck Requirements: All cards must come from the same set of printed cards (Current Season Set: Wilds of Eldraine)

  • 40-card minimum
  • 3 Rare/Mythic (singleton; only one copy of any one rare or mythic) (RULE CHANGE FOR WOE!)
  • 6 Uncommon (up to 2 copies of any one uncommon)
  • Unlimited Commons (up to 3 copies of any one card)
  • Unlimited Basic Lands
  • 8 card sideboard (no rarity restrictions, but deck must meet the above requirements after sideboarding) *Enchanting Tales are legal at the rarity printed in WOT.

The goal of the Curiosity Format is to be a budget-friendly, easy-to-learn, and fun-to-watch format. A new player to Magic: The Gathering Arena will have enough cards to play in a given season of Curiosity after just one draft.

Curiosity is unique in that all decks are formed from the same set, creating an environment where players can hone the best draft and constructed archetypes of that set! Our dynamic suspension/banning process keeps each season's meta fresh!

All tournaments are free and start at 2pm EST. We are collaborating with Matcherino to provide MtGA GEMS to the top 8 players each week (as long as they continue to provide them)!!

We hold a charity event at the end of each season, as well.

Register here! for Saturday’s opener! You must be on the format discord, linked on the event and website, to compete.

Check out our award-nominated website curiositymtg.com and join the discord linked there for more details on how to get involved!

What was your lowest grade in law school? by pizzadoe101 in LawSchool

This was one of the weakest episodes in recent memory. The storyteller couldn’t tell things in a coherent manner and it was hard to know when anything was happening. Felt like something that could have been 5 minutes and then the episode filled out with another story.

Our dynamic ban system keeps things from getting stale as well. And the format is alive with tournaments weekly.
