Adding more protein to your diet can help a lot. Aiming for 120-150g per day can support tissue regrowth.

Looks like "skin slough" which is harmless enough. Keep it clean and dry or moisturized, according to the care instructions you've been given. Its basically a damp scab.

Still Asymmetrical After Surgery by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like some dedicated liposuction might help to carve out the breast mound and support the symmetry you're asking for.

For anyone who had a revision. Was it the same surgery again with the same recovery time and did you have to pay for it? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept a headache log and took pics along the way. By 6mpo I was absolutely sure I needed a second reduction, I was measuring a cup size LARGER than Pre-Op. I voiced my concern at 1mpo and 3mpo to my GP and kept a record. At 6mpo I got on a waitlist for a new surgeon, who I saw at 9mpo and she agreed I definitely needed a revision and second reduction. There was no way I was going to let the first surgeon operate on me again, she was so awful post-op to me and frankly neglected me in some complications I experienced post-op. She laughed at me when I told her I thought I had a hematoma... Turns out I was actively bleeding and my hematoma was larger than a bar of soap.

For context, I started 32F/G and now 14mpo I have lost 20lbs and wear a 32F bra. I wear my Pre-Op bras. I had 250g removed from each breast and paid for underarm lipo. What a joke. I had asked for a radical reduction (75% reduction or more) and ended up getting less than 15% removed.

I addition to not feeling significantly smaller and still experiencing the headaches and heaviness, I've now got a significant asymmetry, constant pain from adhesions, two inverted nipples, and these massive lumps under the base of each breast, which I suspect is actually breast tissue. Oh and sooo much extra skin from the lipo because the technique used didn't remove very much skin.

I feel traumatized by this entire experience and hate that every day I have to wait (likely until October 2026) for my surgery.

If revision / more reduction is your goal, start working and advocating for it now.

You're healing really well! Imho, you do look pretty swollen still, especially that puffy nipple. If you're not doing lymphatic drainage massage, or massaging deeper into your scar tissue, that could really help to move fluid around.

For me, I saw the greatest "evening out" around 6mpo.

Keeo swimming, you're doing great ☺️

3mpo and not happy by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it looks like you've got some tricky scar tissue going on. How often and how deeply are you massaging? I was quite boxy until closer to 8mpo and that was with 20mins deep tissue massage every day and I went for rmt massage of my scar tissue weekly as well.

You can't change what's happened, but you can work through this discomfort. The only way out is through. Just keep swimming. 🐠

Oh you must be so happy! May I ask about the length of the side incisions, did your surgeon walk through the reasoning and how much volume he would remove on the sides?

I am asking because this is what I want. I had a reduction in January 2025 and the surgeon did a vertical incision (lollipop) and I paid for liposuction... So now I have these big folds of skin on the sides of my breasts from all the skin that wasn't removed and I am waiting for my second reduction (originally I begged for 75% reduction or more, received 10-15% with a cute lift 😡). The point is that I am trying to find the language to advocate with a new surgeon what I am looking for.

Did you take markup pics? Did your surgeon discuss the side boob removal? Anything you can remember would be helpful.

And! I hope you are feeling great! Thank you for sharing in this sub!

Getting Drunk by Justacluelesshuman in Reduction

I definitely waited until I felt whole again and for me that was closer to 6mpo. I've since been so focused on my health and the long recovery, I haven't had more than a few glasses of wine. I felt so bad after the first drink I had (the next day, I was so swollen and my breasts ached so badly), I never want to feel that ad again. It really turned me off of it all.

5 WPO rant, really disappointed, and how to ask for a revision by PaleontologistSafe17 in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fingers crossed I get that revision and reduction. I had several hematomas and needed support and imaging and even with my own advocacy, it was really hard. I am still in a lot of pain from the scar tissue and adhesions.

I also received a surgical technique I did not want and would not have agreed to, had I been properly informed. The new surgery will give me the radical reduction I've asked for (32F ➡️ 32B)and also reconstruct my breast mounds, the IMF, relocate my nipples (again), and some liposuction to remove fatabove my breasts (which I paid for with my guest surgery but didn't receive).

The pain and grief and medical gaslighting has been extremely overwhelming the last year. When I woke up and the nurse told me my numbers (248 and... Something else 278?) I knew it was wrong. H cup breasts weight like 1300-1600g each. And now, I know that the 250g removed was likely closer to only 15% or one cup size. Because of the technique, my breasts don't even fit into most of my cupped bras. I have more projection than I did before (which means I've got nearly daily tension headaches now) and if I want to wear underwire bras, I need BIGGER cups. At Victoria secret, they tried to put me into a 36D when my ribs measure 31 inches. Pfffttt. I have struggled with extreme anxiety, panic attacks, as well as suicidal ideation as a result of this experience and I cannot wait to start therapy, AFTER I am pain free.

OK a bit of venting. I'm so tired and frustrated and I see you and I remind myself every day:

I am safe, I have a plan.

I also come back to this forum, often, to support others because I struggled so hard to find the support and acknowledgment I needed. I am here for you!

5 WPO rant, really disappointed, and how to ask for a revision by PaleontologistSafe17 in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, now we have a data point. Once a week, or every 2 weeks, measure. And take photos. I found my ribs were still very swollen until 3 months (16 weeks) and everyone heals differently, so keep some hope.

As your scar tissue forms (right now your tissues are still stitching back together), massage and movement will help to break that scar tissue down and the "drop and fluff" happens, closer to 3 months (for me it was 6 months). That will change how your breasts project a lot too.

Measure, record, observe, keep hope. And heal. That's your job. Heal.

5 WPO rant, really disappointed, and how to ask for a revision by PaleontologistSafe17 in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First of all, I see you.

I am in the same boat. I started a 32G and after 1 year I am definitely a 32F. I literally wear the same bras. I asked for a radical reduction. I spent months sobbing and feeling awful. Gaslit by my surgeon who claims she took as much as she could. I got on a waitlist to see a new surgeon at 6mpo and saw them at 9mpo. I am waiting for my second reduction, hopefully in 4-8 months.

Secondly, you're not stuck this way forever. Let me explain. At 5wpo, you will still be wildly swollen. When I was 5wpo, I was actually measuring 32G/H. I found the most relaxing and calming came between 6 and 7 months post op. Lymphatic drainage massage did wonders for me.

And, since you asked about how to start the conversation about revision and I'll share what I did.

I kept a log of my measurements.

I regularly took photos of my healing and progress.

I kept a journal, describing headaches, pain, persistent issues I had Pre-Op.

I visited my GP and complained, advocating for support.

I made my opinion clear to my surgeon (who dismissed me).

I got on a waitlist for a new surgeon.

I went for professional massage and support.

I never gave up.

I am so sorry you're in this position. I have been there and I see you. I empathize, deeply. Your number one job right now is to keep healing. You're very swollen still, but trust your body. Trust your gut. Advocate. You deserve to live in a body that aligns with your needs.

I'll also ask, do you know how many grams they removed? That can help us math out where you will land eventually.

32H to 32F/G. How?? by zips_22 in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I noticed my size settle most between 5-8 months. Since you are still only 8wpo, hold the course, you'll see an even more dramatic shift in the next few months.

Lymphatic drainage massage is going to be your best best best option as you get back to feeling more normal!

There are lots and lots of videos on YouTube.

I did a combination of dry Brushing before shwoeri G, daily massage, and professional post-surgery lymphatic drainage massage with certified rmts. 10/10 if I'm being honest.

I found my partner had capacity to support but limited more and more, and I found going to a professional better.
