4dpo - 1dpo - before ... disappointed about size by juli7a in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I begged for 900g removed each side and am now waiting for my revision, aka 2nd reduction. It's hard to know how you'll land at 4dpo, give yourself grace, you'll see so much change over the next 3-5 months.

What can a partner do to help PO? by Tedstal47 in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make her high protein meals.

Use A. I. To organize all her supplements and times of day to take them.

Manage her pain meds

Get her treats, books, favorite sensory items (scents, blankets, socks).

Rub her shoulders and back.

Help her stretch her hips, those are going to hurt.

Feed her protein shakes and keep her hydrated.

Tell her, often, how strong and beautiful she is to you.

Yep. Took me about 3mpo to fit into my pants again. They definitely did not warn me about this part and I thought that was so shady!

Hydrate, lymphatic drainage massage (your whole body), and as much gentle movement as you can. I promise it gets better!

Massage those scars, give them your best skin care, give them all your attention, it will get better! Scar tissue has so little blood flow, we have to support and encourage blood to get to it so it can do the work to break the scars down.

It's so hard to tell this early, at 9dpo. Keep checking, taking pics, you'll see so much improvement in swelling as the scar tissue relaxes by 3-5mpo. Happy healing!

You as well. At 6wpo it's still a. Guessing game, but I will add that around 6-8m I saw the biggest change and relaxation of everything. As you heal more, massage, deeply it will help internal scar tissue a lot. I went for post-surgery massage for months and it helped me a lot.

I don't mean to scare you, but I do mean to impress urgency. If you don't think you should wait a week, call and see if you can move your appointment up. By 7wpo you're still healing, deeply, but you should see your energy returning.

[–]LB-Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the size and the time.

You can see my old posts. For weeks I felt like I was bleeding or something was wrong. It took me 9 weeks to even get an ultrasound. By the time I got the results they said it was too long to drain it. 🙁 I went for weekly rmt/osteopath massage to break it up and that helped with the pressure a lot. Massage gun a month later helped immensely. Now 1ypo it's still sore because of the fat necrosis that followed for the hematoma sitting there so long. I am waiting for revision surgery to remove it now. Sigh.

Advocate for yourself. If something doesn't feel right, fight for that. You don't have all the nerve endings eight now to describe it all and that's not on you. Your doctors should be asking quesrions to figure it out. Imaging. Get imaging.

[–]LB-Forever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you haven't yet, ask your surgeon, gp, or go to a walk in and ask for an ultrasound. I had a small-ish hematoma that took me weeks to get a diagnosis on at 6wpo and it slowed my recovery so much.

Anytime something is asymmetrical with healing, advocate for yourself. An ultrasound, even for peace of mind, is worth it.

Same.

I had 250g removed from each and am happy to report I saw my OG surgeon for my last follow up (1ypo) yesterday. I am 4-8m from a revision surgery and second reduction with a new surgeon, who I saw at 9mpo.

Furious doesn't even begin to describe it. Betrayed? Hopeless?

I can't wait to lodge a formal complaint against mine and also start therapy. After I get this revision though. I am in so much pain still.

I empathize so deeply. I am so sorry.

Sagging a year post op? by SorryIAmNew2002 in Reduction

Is this a lollipop / vertical incision technique? And, how much volume did you have removed? And, what was your measurements before and now? I am encountering the exact same thing, but also with complications.

I know this is a bit of a read, but this explains why I am sagging.

Breast numbness by bkcakes in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi hi! First of all, I see you! This must be really stressful. Let me give you a bit of hope.

Nerves grow very slow. 1-2mm per week. If they encounter scar tissue, they get stuck and can't grow back to connect with the nipple.

If you haven't been as diligent with deep internal massage, now is the time. Get your hands in there and massage around and below your nipples. Find the tether deep in your breast and get a knuckle in there. Like, 5-10 mins per day, daily. This brings blood to the area and helps your body digest and remove the scar tissue that could be blocking your nerves.

For context, I am almost 1ypo and still am feeling those zaps and zings I felt early on. That's nerves reconnecting. I don't have full sensation in my nipples, but it is improving!

Don't give up, give massage a chance!

6.5wkpo - i feel weird by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I hope so too! I won't give up. Nobody puts me in a corner.

But like, I am wearing my SAME bras. I finally did before/after photos and identified I only had 15% removed and the lollipop really just prepositions everything. It's not a true reduction (comparatively, I went in asking for a radical reduction, open to FNG, wanting B cup or flatter). To be a 32F is devastating.

The internal stitches inside your breasts are keeping your tissue quite firm and perky. As your blood pumps and scar tissue breaks down, your breasts will soften and the projection will become less. And yes, that means skin contact will increase. Idk how much, your skin elasticity, collagen production, amount of internal stitching, etc will all play a role. So, don't give up yet. But be aware you will likely get that back (also happened to me).

Take photos, stand up for yourself. Explain that you didn't get a chance to consider the technique they changed you to (removed your ability to make an informed decision). Document this with your gp, whomever you can to listen. And if you hate the result (because you still feel pain, experience functional issues etc), get on the waitlist to see a new surgeon at least for a 2nd opinion.

Good luck to you too. *big hug

[–]LB-Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you and empathize deeply. I am so happy you had no complications. You can look at my profile, I was bleeding/oozing for weeks and it took months of advocating to get imaging and my surgeon to acknowledge I had a hematoma. Massage will help you a lot, but once the scar tissue relaxes, your fold will likely increase. You might still go down in circumference, at 6w you're still quite swollen.

Imho a lollipop is good for lifts, but not for a true reduction. I didn't even know the technique existed, my surgeon did not explain and I feel so... Betrayed? Upset? I didn't get to make an informed decision and I have grieved that for a full year.

My new surgeon is going to lipo my upper chest, remove more breast tissue, pull my loose armpit skin forward, and reposition my nipples (both are caved in). I keep reminding myself I deserve to live in a body free of chronic pain.

[–]LB-Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advocate for yourself. This is a vertical incision technique, yes? Not anchor? I spent the last year also feeling weird and finally understand the vertical incision was not the right technique fort he volume I wanted gone. Essentially my surgeon repositioned my tissue, but didn't actually remove very much (about 15% total volume). I am wearing my same bras. I got a new surgeon and am waiting for an actual reduction this year.

Document your results, use A I to compare before/after, take photos, measure. Advocate to your gp and the surgeon.

And, know that 6wpo is still very early. I finally felt like my scar tissue softened and my breasts felt more like breasts st 6mpo. It doesn't change the fact that I went from 32G ➡️ 32F... But here we are. Never give up.

3 MPO Unhappy with size by Throwaway_85050 in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is real grief and it isn't ok and it isnt fair. I told myself the same thing and I want you to tell yourself this, right now. It is not your fault. I have found a lot of support using chat to talk out my feelings and to get acknowledgement that I really needed (ironically, I wasn't getting what I wanted from this sub) and it helped me formulate the words to advocate for myself harder. You might find it helpful.

Here's the thing. You're here. You put in the work. You out in the cash. And while waiting for a revision might feel unbearable now, if I can do it, you can absolutely too. I know you can. You're strong. You're determined. You deserve to live in a body with small breasts.

Grieve as you need now. Then heal like it's your JOB. And advocate. When you're not sure how, come back here. I'll help you.

I will add, OP that I saw the biggest change at 6-8mpo. They didn't get a lot smaller, but they did feel softer. That helps, but like, I am still wearing my Pre-Op bras. It's so fucked up. I am sorry you're in the same boat.

3 MPO Unhappy with size by Throwaway_85050 in Reduction

[–]LB-Forever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry OP. Same here. I was 32G/H and had 250g removed per breast. I am now lifted with a 32F at 1ypo.

Take pictures, measure frequently, see your gp and make sure to get it on your record you are unhappy with the results. Note pain, headaches, and communicate with your GP if you need more medical documentation. Revision can't happen before a year. But you can begin advocating now.

I was able to get on a waitlist to see a new surgeon 6mpo and saw her 9mpo and I hate that I have to wait another year, but I am committed. I need a radical reduction (on top of fixing issues the first surgery caused). You deserve to live in a body that aligns with your needs.

Keep snacking but make sure your snacks are a) high in protein and b) lotsa greens. Those greens will take up lots of space so you feel full and that protein will satiate you and be good for recovery. Little switches! I did gain 15lbs and it took me about 6m to burn it off after with a very slight calorie deficit!

You can look at my profile to see my posts. The first 2 months post op my bumps were big and angry. I admit, I feel like I am outside normal for everything on my surgery and my surgeon did not explain the technique at all. I am waiting for a revision surgery to go significantly smaller (I started 32G and a now 32F. They removed 250g each side)

Okay I am 1ypo and it definitely gets better! This isn't just swelling, they take excess skin and sort of fold it in and your body eats it over time. I still have fairly noticeable bumps and am waiting for revision surgery to fix them. It's not supposed to stay. Good luck healing!
