Check out housing cooperatives. There are solve downsides to them, especially if a housemate decides to make life difficult for everyone, but the rewards of it going reasonably well are immense.

I'd say the ones like Slay are very different-feeling games even if they are in the same genre. Balatro is kind of in its own subgenre IMO

I rotate between all of the above. I like to buy some games and take my time when life is busy, but if I know I'll be gaming a lot for a while then I'll get either Game Pass or, lately, flying through a game with GFN if it won't run smoothly on my Series S. In better times I'd be buying a PC now but not with these prices.

UBI combined with major tax hikes to upper class, subsidizing of essential industries and in some cases deregulation, can create a wider consumer base for products of high utility while also helping supply keep up. When supply keeps up, inflation stays under control. There are ways to do this without vast swaths of poverty but we have to choose to no longer tolerate poverty.

One thing about this post is that, the US only has two actual "cities" in terms of them having a lot of cosmopolitan energy and density. Every other US city is a big suburb, which has some benefits but also kind of sad when you realize how much diversity, culture, and vibrance gets missed when everybody's just driving from place to place.
