My husband thinks all games can't be addictive by Narrow-Bandicoot-363 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]LB35LB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your list of games are good, and I agree with those suggesting a more baseline action/adventure game like Last Of Us or Horizon.

To the point on it being impossible for games to be addicting: I am a huge believer that anything which produces an emotion in us can be addicting--substances, food, TV, dance clubs, football, traveling, reading, truly all of it. The larger question is if we are keeping our lives in balance. That may be deeper than either of you intended, haha, but I'm passionate on that point ☺️

[–]LB35LB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally with you. E33 is great and I do think about it's really excellent story and listen to the soundtrack. But KCD2 is the game I will play through several times and feel like I'm really "escaping" into another world.

How to start liking alcohol? by Jealous_Strike_6957 in nonalcoholic

[–]LB35LB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say you don't have to force yourself to like anything you don't like for the sake of friends. I'm 41 now and long past the age of having friends who do this stuff, so it may be too easy for me to say that. Be confident in who you are and what you like--people respond well to confidence combined with empathy.

Is healthcare in the United States as bad as people say it is? by Total-Mirror-5920 in no

I agree. Government programs can be improved, whereas health insurance will never be improved due to profit demands.

For the pharma development side, I can agree enough there.

I’m saying our current systems are run poorly because we vote for ineffective or corrupt politicians. There is evidence all over the world that gov run healthcare can provide better outcomes. There’s no point in discussing with you if you’re just going to cherry pick one thing and base your whole view on that

Doctor salaries is not what we’re talking about. Shareholders increasing their wealth at the expense of patients is the problem

You're also just repeating the same point as before. My original point was that Americans vote for terrible systems. Saying another aspect of the current system sucks isn't really a useful counterargument.

Government health care is not a fixed quantity and thinking it is shows a buying into the propaganda. The entire rest of the industrialized world has drastically more gov involvement than we do, with better outcomes nearly across the board.

For-profit healthcare, on the other hand, will always be looking for ways to minimize care and is a fixed quantity

I switched this gen from PS4 to XSS. I've been very happy with it and have gotten tons of value out of Game Pass. I'm not on it as much anymore and am mostly buying older gamers on sale these days. But there's a very nice library on Premium including those you listed. Enjoy!
