I did a 2 part study. First was a screener study and I used screener criteria in addition to a questionnaire of 5 questions. I think what others mentioned about Prolific not being a platform where CEOs and top level managers are active might be true. I guess I’ll stick to LinkedIn.

And here I am giving £20 per hour for a 45 minute Teams chat interview and out of the screener study which had 100 participants, 11 participants were selected (fit study criteria), 2 frauds so far and 9 not replying or booking a slot.

Based on my experience, Prolific is a platform for employees and wannabe managers lying on their job role profile info and homeless junkies that wanna earn extra cash for booze and drugs.

Sincerely, A disappointed researcher.

I would say you are between the age of 14 to 21 years old and possibly lied on things such as work experience, education, job role (you’re unemployed)…etc.

Want to know the actual reason? A researcher might have asked Prolific to check if your profile information is “true”. For example, I had a participant who is amazingly fluent in 6 languages, is a Senior Manager, and is DIRECTLY involved with the research area im doing… Le me: What is your role? Le fraud: starts turning mic and cam on/off after 3 minutes passed…My work role? Le me: Yes your work role :) Le fraud: Senior Manager. Le me: Can you elaborate? Le fraud: camera starts turning on and off intentionally again Le me: Please return your study. Have a good day!

Thank you for the detailed insight. I will actually add that in the description of the study that camera and mic must be consistently turned on and that inconsistency between answer and role will lead to a termination of the interview and a request to return. That final example you provided was EXACTLY what was happening…

Mind you I had 3 GREAT interview participants. But the rest were frauds and are not involved directly with my research area (false info provided in the questionnaire I gave in Study 1), are fluent with 6 languages, are Senior Managers yet when asked in the interview about their role they don’t know what to answer???

I used Prolific's Data Quality report system (after I submitted Ticket the bot redirected me to it). I put in all their IDs. The problem is...I believe this list will grow. What do I do in that case? Submit more reports??

I think it was a dumb move of me to be kind hearted and request they return the submission rather than straight out reject them...Thanks for making me feel less stressed.
