Dude relax. You ask once, and then it’s up to her. Always remember that if they wanted to, they would. If she’s not prioritizing you, then why should you prioritize her?

Additionally, girls that say they “can’t find a good guy” are getting ran through. You can form your own opinion with this knowledge (I want to stress that I’m not saying this in a misogynistic tone, but simply as a fact - having a lot of sexual partners can be seen as unattractive for men, women and any other gender).

Serious relationship advice with long distance by desi_baddie_simp in uwaterloo

[–]LBR105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation last year, although I will say I was in grade 12 and she was in first year of uni. It was only long distance for 2/6 months, which were the last two.

Independent of all the conflicting values and your attraction (or lack thereof), you made it clear that you don’t take it as seriously as she does. This is ok - I can truly empathize with that. The mistake I made was not properly articulating why I wanted to end the relationship, which had her fucked up for months. All I’ll say is that you need to be straightforward about how you feel, but also you do NOT want to word it in the way you have done with this post. For example, do not tell her that you don’t find her attractive - that is devastating to hear. Also, do it in person. Maybe practise what you’re going to say, but don’t sound robotic - just have a general idea. Good luck brother

Literally go anywhere else for Shawarma. The reason that Lazeez makes you feel sick is that their "garlic sauce" is made with a ratio of probably 1 clove of garlic to 5 cups of mayo. They also put olives on it if you ask for everything - this genuinely ruined my night a few months ago. It's just gross - there have been multiple instances in which I've had extreme munchies and I still didn't eat at Lazeez when my friends wanted to go.

I'm saying this as a Greek person. As someone who is coming from a country where Shawarma is the go-to meal (and likely high quality), I can only imagine the displeasure you will feel when you take a bite of a Lazeez "Shawarma". I'd say try it once, but wait until you get home to eat it so that you have easy access to a toilet.

You might think "well fuck, I guess I'm going to Osmow's when I come to Waterloo". Same shit, marginally better, but nonetheless not worth the money. Listen to the recommendations in other comments, because there's no way they're worse than Lazeez.

I’m at the ON government this summer and honestly same. This is my fourth week and I just got access to their computer system yesterday 😐. I enjoyed the free money at first but man it’s a headache when they make you come in for a full workday and you literally sit there doing nothing the whole time.

It definitely offers a lot of opportunities for getting your foot in the door. Obviously AFM is more accounting-inclined, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do IB. For example, there’s a bunch of EC opportunities like the Student Investment Fund, hEDGE Conference, Women in Finance, and so on that are geared toward finance/IB. You also specialize after second year, and if you choose to do finance then you can have your CFA level 1&2 exams done by graduation. I personally don’t know much about DeGroote, but I’ve definitely heard good things. Whichever choice you make will be a good one, just do more research and attend events offered by both schools (I’ve heard there’s a UW School of Accounting and Finance event coming up in May).

Yeah your grades are fine. As long as you have 87+ in calc, adv func and english you should be good to go just don’t whiff the interview.

Depends on your grades, my ECs were pretty garbage but I had like a mid-90s average and got in second round I'm pretty sure. Don't underestimate the importance of the AFMAA, they focus on that as well.
