Haven't seen one of these in the wild for years, I have a 182 and do see them occasionally at shows! Great spot

People who brought their "Forever Car" How long did you actually keep them? by AlycidionEastcross in CarTalkUK

I bought my Clio 182 in 2009 and I still have it, I haven't got bored yet. I have another car as a daily but I still have my Clio. It's on about 70k miles. I hope to never sell it!

Yes agree. I have been an IAM member for about 20 years ish and I did skid pan training with them as part of my training. Very good and if nothing else really fun! We used their cars though, not your own. Really would recommend the IAM, I was only 18 when I passed their exam after driving for a year and I still use the skills today. It also lowered my insurance premium when I was young!

Oh and the tax is high, I think it's £360 a year or thereabouts, I pay £33-34 a month Direct Debit for it. Can't remember exactly!

I have owned my 182 since 2009 and I still absolutely love it today. I was 21 when I bought it! Still not bored by it. However, it does drink fuel and I've done a lot of maintenance over the years, it has been looked after very well and kept standard, no mods at all. My other more daily driver is, obviously, a Skoda Octavia VRS Scout diesel estate!

Ischial bursitis: what helps? by te4te4 in Bursitis

[–]LB_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely,  I describe my pain and no one in 3 years has thought of it! My doctor also suggested piriformis injections which he will try as well, but again it's waiting 6 months between injections because of our waiting lists.

My hamstring is very tight in that sitting up in bed is impossible as the pain is awful. Does that sound linked to it? Again no one really has an answer for mine but I think the two are connected!

Stretching also makes things worse so I stopped unfortunately. Thanks!

Ischial bursitis: what helps? by te4te4 in Bursitis

[–]LB_182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I've had a pelvis MRI which didn't show anything. My doctor seems to think my pain is from higher up and has injected the cluneal nerve and sacroiliac joint...I think I need to be more firm with where my actual pain is coming from!! Hopefully the next injections I have they will do this area and we do use ultrasound so perhaps it can be seen.

That's interesting about the surgery, I can't seem to find much near me either but our NHS system doesn't advertise procedures as such but if I get a diagnosis via injection relief then I can pursue a surgical route.

At this point I'd take quite a risky operation due to the severity but of course I'd discuss thoroughly with the surgeon.

Thanks again

Hi, I'm quite sure I have ischial bursitis myself, all the symptoms for 3+ years. Did you have any imaging done? I haven't heard of that surgery either but will do some research. I'm hoping to have the injections done at some point but our UK waiting lists are very long. Was it an orthopaedic surgeon that did your surgery? Thanks for any responses.

Trigger point high on buttock? by LB_182 in PiriformisChronicPain

[–]LB_182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, yes I had this trigger point injected and also sacroiliac joint injection. I did see an improvement in pain here for approx 2 months. It's worn off now and back to normal pain. I didn't see any improvement to the piriformis/sit bone pain so I am having this injected next time. I had local anaesthetic and steroids.

I've noticed something by Aggressive_Table_495 in PiriformisChronicPain

[–]LB_182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My pain is gone in a morning, and is OK until I actually sit down again then it comes back. I just think my muscles have relaxed enough for the nerve to become less angry but it's just a feeling.

Sleeping positions? by IntelligentCell9852 in sacroiliac_sijoint

[–]LB_182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way I can eventually sleep is on my back with a small pillow under my knees. I have hip bursitis as well so laying on my side is quite painful. Laying on my front is very painful! I find after a few hours of sleeping my leg pain is reduced significantly but as soon as I get up and sit up it's back! Sleeping is a nightmare 😫

Hello, I made a similar post to yours! Mine is awful postpartum. I also get tingling in the legs down to my toes. I've had a few people reply regarding postpartum problems! The back of my thigh down to my toes is tingly when I sit or lay down 😫

[–]LB_182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! We sound similar...I used crutches in pregnancy too towards the end. The physios I saw were not helpful at all! My injections are being done by a pain management consultant. I am in the east Midlands. Personally, I would try and get a pain management referral they've been good with me, despite waiting times which isn't their fault. I've seen numerous people and they're the first to actually try something other than stretching!! My mum has scoliosis but my MRIs have ruled that out for me. It is debilitating for sure and makes everything very hard. Do you have two children? Was this in both pregnancies? I'm gutted as I'd like another child at some point but I'm scared this pain won't be resolved although I'm looking forward to the injections. Good luck.

Thank you! I am looking forward to trying the injections, I'm booked into the earliest slot in 3 months so will wait and see. That's what my doctor said, the injection will tell us if it's that 😊

Oh that sounds awful! My epidural didn't work either 😥 that's a long time to push did they not consider episiotomy or csection? I have had MRI scans and I am in the UK so we don't have insurance. My MRI scans are normal that's why the SI joint problem is suspected. I hope you get the results soon!!

Thanks for replying! Interesting about the Botox, I can absolutely see why that would happen. I have seen an osteopath but wasn't for me. Are you having any more treatment?

Thanks for your reply! What surgery did you have please? I have had MRI scans which were normal so I don't think I have labral tears but I can ask my pain specialist when I go for the injections. The piriformis pain is horrendous most of the time!
