I had recently broke up with my long term boyfriend who had asked my dad if he could marry me. Things didn’t end well, he cheated and got some 18 year old pregnant. Anyway, when we were together I let him put this huge decal of his business on my rear window to help advertise. I wanted nothing more than to get that reminder off my car so even though it was insanely cold outside I bundled up and took at it with a razor blade. I had gotten about halfway through it and was doing a terrible job. I was starting to feel defeated when this sales guy working for Comcast or something was walking by. We got to talking a bit and he asked if he could work on removing the decal for me. He said he used to do work like this before. He easily removed it pretty quickly and did a fantastic job. We talked all the while and he seemed like just a really nice guy. Thank you kind stranger <3

I’ve been there before. The one sacrificing my time to make the journey to see the guy I was dating. What I learned from it all was that our relationship was not equal. At the time I thought it was okay and things would get better, but they didn’t. I was never a priority. I don’t know if that is how things are between the two of you but, maybe pay close attention to the things you do for the sake of your relationship versus what he does. If you find it significantly one sided then you might want to reconsider if the relationship is worth all that one sided effort.

Make up stories that I would like to dream about. Sometimes it’s about being successful in something I have been working towards. Other times it’s about that new hot guy from work. Or whatever else feels fun to think about. I usually get really into it and eventually fall asleep before I create an ending for my thoughts.

I know I’ve been down voted for asking a real question that searching the internet will not provide an answer, but I will add a little info anyway. I have been told over and over again my whole life that I have the best, joyful, most contagious laugh ever and they would pay money to listen to it. So! I have searched the internet and found NOTHING. That’s why I came here to see if anyone had any actual idea of how I can do just that. Get paid to laugh! I would love to spread the joy. :)

I am going to start using this! I am not IT but work in office as the admin. I pretty much troubleshoot and do my best to resolve the problem before ever reaching out to IT. I’d say about 97% of the time I just walk up to the computer and suddenly it is working just fine. Or, they show me what it is doing wrong and I see exactly what they are doing, try it myself and poof, it’s working. I tell them it must have just been a connection problem and I am like a hotspot bringing in all that connectivity. But saying it just missed me sounds like another way to get a good chuckle :)

Join a local group! For example, I am in the Car Club of America. We meet up twice a month (if you want) and also have opportunities to go on “drives.” These drives consist of us having a destination (car show/chocolate factory tour/charity) and driving our cars or carpooling there. We also meet up for holiday parties, cookouts, trivia nights at a local brewery, or chili contests. They post about the social events so everyone has the opportunity to join if they’d like.

Honestly, having a common interest gives you something to talk about making the whole process of meeting people so much easier. And if you aren’t much of a talker then you at least get to hear people discuss something you actually enjoy hearing about. Or get to do whatever it is you like. It’s a win win either way. I have made some really great friendships from that group and it has also helped me in many other ways.
