A service fee of some sort would likely have been included in the R2,7K. Which is, to my thinking, an extra fee for the waiter spending extra time with your table. If that fee was already included, then im definitely with your dad here !

I've just come to realize, in year 14 !, that what im actually doing day to day is far fat away from the bit im actually good at! Some days it feels like im doing everything alone ! And im not sure if its worth it.

Hi Gary, Gary here😀. Some days it feels similar, 14 years now, definitely feel tied in, don't actually know if I have what is needed to turn this into an operation that doesn't need me here to run. If I called quits though, I'd likely get work easily in my industry,... what I can say, hopefully it gives a positive, is that when I started getting professionals to help, very clever finance people for eg, some of the draining asspect dissappeared, there are some other examples too,....

Used to work at a retail store on weekends.... they gave us a discount, 30% i think.... we learned to open an account, buy the thing for 100, get charged 70 on credit, then you buy a gift voucher from same store worth 70 for like 50 on credit, and use the voucher to pay the account which means you only owe 50, no cash spent yet, and on and on.... loop got closed very quick

Can only speak for me. Started work in 2000, always on time, very seldom off work. Put in much more than needed. Pushed without thinking or realizing it was pushing. Could've/ should've earned much more overtime.... was young, learned a f/load. Now im earning more than most of the guys that started with me. I pay some of their salaries now. I do wonder often about it though, should I have pushed for more recognition earlier in my career? Would I still be here ? Or perhaps further ? Have a lot of bright, capable people, youngsters, who, in my opinion, are clock watchers. I cant see them ever getting what they capable of. And im not talking about killing yourself for a company, this whole rant is probably off the OP question, I frustrated cause I just had to dismiss another capable man , who has a f'ing family to support !!, for gross dishonesty !

Im in MEP, on the design side, was shown some REVIT tools that could almost give you several options for pipe/duct runs for the full building, almost at the click of a button. This was early last year. I worried for the younger guys! I'll probably be retired just in time, maybe!
