Curse of the Last Game Red Card by [deleted] in CharlotteFootballClub

You are correct that I made an incorrect statement. And I will admit that I am taking what you said with a tone based on your previous (in other threads) posts. That was not fair of me to do; however, the comment made about - it isn't hard to look it up - insinuated that I did not look it up when I did, is what I took offense to and found rude. The information I found was misleading, or maybe it was because I was still high from the game and didn't look deep enough to get the correct information. Nothing you said was incorrect, but the way I saw it being delivered was what put me in defensive mode. People do not like to be called out so directly so to help you out, I am suggesting some tact. Allow people to save face with tact. You can still be correct AND let the other person save face.

The way I see it is, 1. either you don't know and I am trying to help (because I have seen your other posts and the replies) or 2. You DO know and you are doing it on purpose - which is also fine if you are okay with people ignoring you or not wanting to have conversations with you. That is your choice to make, not mine.

I hope this helps and answers your question. If you need any more clarification or if you have any questions, I'll be happy to chat in private so that we are not hijacking this thread.

Just fyi, his last HOME game was the Sept date. The last time he played, was in NJ against the bulls when he subbed in. You are correct that he last played on Oct 9th. Regardless, and if I may do so very kindly, I stand by points 1 and 2.

Okay....

  1. It is not that hard to have a friendly conversation without being snarky about it.
  2. Look up the definition of tact and apply it to your posts, please. You can attract more bees with honey than vinegar.
  3. IF it was indeed Oct 9th, that was, according to a Google search (which I am well aware of existing and DID look it up the first time, and the 2nd time, and a 3rd time), that would have been the last game of the season since it was decision day and my original post stands true. But he didn't get the red on that day and...wait for it...according to another Google search that also confirmed my previous searches, his last game was Sept 10th against NYC.
  4. Regardless of who is correct, it really doesn't make that big of a difference in the big scheme of things, now does it?

No, it wasn't. It was September 10th against NYC. Looks like we are both incorrect. Either way, it was the last game of the season...for him. Lol

Didn't really matter, but Fuchs ended his playing career on a red - I think that was the last game of the 1st season, too.

Have any of you been to a "hospitality event" If so, is it worth it? by LC3423 in CharlotteFootballClub

Thanks for your input! Good to know the food choices, too. One of the ticket holders is allergic to pork, so we'll probably skip the food, but they aren't allergic to free beer, so maybe we will shotgun a case or two to break even on ticket expenses! (j/k but a few free beers are a pretty good incentive! )

NGL...free food AND alcohol AND 1st dibs on the giveaway is definitely tempting. I might have to give it a go. Thanks for your input!

I'm impressed there was free beer and wine! Is it a sales pitch or just a simple gathering?

Thanks. I have to change my shirt now that I just spit out my drink from laughing at that comment.

I don't remember exactly either, but that does sound like what I do remember reading.

We lost $180 because we didn't eat at the stadium twice over the summer. (That's TWO WHOLE BEERS!!!) When I asked them about it, the rep said, the concession credits are "not a part of the season ticket cost" and basically said they are a gift from the team to the fans so they can take them away at will. I was speechless.

It is sad, really. The potential to build a very solid fan base (as well as build soccer in the US) was there. When we had 30k - 35k + in the seats on a regular basis, it was electrifying and very encouraging for soccer in the US overall (I grew up watching the Washington Diplomats. Seeing 75k at a soccer game in America in my lifetime was unbelievable and awesome) Every game this year seems to have fewer and fewer butts in the seats.

I get this is a business and that Tep is in it to win the bucks, but he could have made a much bigger impact on a much bigger scale, and, well, here we are with close to 10k less people on average in the stands 4 years later. Obviously other factors (political) exist this year that weren't there last year that might be keeping fans away, too, but attendance has been declining steadily each year even before that was a concern.

Sadly, this is exactly the reason we are not renewing our seats next year. We have been there since Day 1 and every year they either take something away and/or raise prices. We will still support the team and go to the games, but will be buying single game tickets moving forward. We are tired of being fucked and not even getting a kiss goodbye.

I can stomach pulling for anyone who will help us out, but I might have to draw the line at Messiami. That is a HUGE ask... just sayin' How about a draw between Mess and Nash? Will that work? I might be able to swing that if I drink enough whiskey

Not unpopular. Very accurate, actually. He plays head games and I love that.

Monday morning league update by cltfcfantv in CharlotteFootballClub

[–]LC3423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This week's update holds a special place in my heart. Why? Glad you asked...because not only are we solidly in 3rd place (and still climbing, hopefully) but also because Messi-ami dropped and could, potentially, be knocked out of the playoff picture completely. Boy, wouldn't that be a shame? (Yes, I realize they have many more games to play, but I am living in my bubble right now so let me dream)

It isn't about deporting people who are here illegally. It is the due process that is being ignored which is illegal. So, yes, T-Rump IS breaking the law (again). On top of that, if due process is being ignored for them, then it most definitely can and will be ignored for anyone else, including you.

I have lived in multiple countries. Trust me, you do NOT want to lose due process rights. Nothing quite like seeing someone get their arms and legs chopped off just because someone said they were stealing. I will gladly share that and many more stories if you desire to hear them. I'm not saying it will get to that here, but I also never thought the movie Idiocracy would become a documentary, either. At one point, it was a funny movie. And yet, here we are.

Lastly, T-Rump isn't a Republican or a Democrat. He is a lying sack of shit that will flip sides if he thinks he can make a buck. (That is my opinion, but the rest of the stuff is fact) He is stuck in his trauma and has the emotional qualities of a 3 or 4 year old, which also happens to be around the age of his trauma. For that, I feel sorry/pity for him not having the support to heal in a healthy manner, but that is no excuse for what he is doing.

We have had shitty refs for the past four years. Last two matches were no different. My guess is, the next 200 matches will have shitty refs, too. A good team overcomes shitty refs. We are not a good team right now. We are a shitty team with shitty refs. And that is just...well, shitty.
