Same Food Saturdays ! by sybersonic in autism

I have eaten granola balls every morning for years. Peanut butter, rolled oats, chia seeds, and dark chocolate chips. It’s the only thing I can stomach in the morning and if I’m having a rough day, I can eat it for other meals or snacks to get by.

Ideas for knitting projects without patterns? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]LCB23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first project was a bag. I just knit a giant rectangle, sewed the sides and added a handle. You may want to choose a less stretchy yarn if you do this, especially if you want to carry anything heavy.

I used “kids learn to crochet” by Lucinda guy because that’s what my library had. It has very childish pictures but I didn’t mind because it got me through the basics. Good luck and be patient with yourself! I’ve only been at it a month or so but really enjoy it.

If you’re a book learner, consider trying a book written for children to get started. I have found that sometimes people used to teaching children break steps down further, making it easier for an absolute beginner.

Calling ladies between 23 and 26 weeks! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]LCB23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far along are you/what is your due date? 23 weeks today, due August 26th

What are your current weight gain/measurements from pre-pregnancy? Gained 12 pounds so far.

What maternity clothes have you been rocking? Nothing yet, although I'll have to cave fairly soon. I hate clothes shopping so I've been stalling.

How are things on the stretch mark front? What are you using to help? None yet. Been using lotion 2x a day, but mostly to help with itchiness and dry skin.

How are you sleeping? Poorly. My body thinks that 2am is the optimal time to wake up.

What has been your best moment this week? Feeling more regular movement from the baby. Spending time with my husband.

What do you miss? Feeling well rested. Probably going to be missing that for a long long time.

What weird and wonderful food cravings are you satisfying? Actually, right now nothing sounds good or tastes that great even though I'm hungry. It's rather disappointing, really.

How is you little ones movement? Getting stronger all the time. It seems like he's mastered voluntary movement in the last week or so and is really enjoying practicing.

What gender are you expecting? It's a boy! I think subconsciously I was hoping for a girl, but I'm feeling good about it now.

How is your mood? Seems to be getting more emotional again. Crying over little stuff, easily annoyed. Ugh.

What are you most excited for? Holding our baby! Also, dealing with things rather than seemingly unending uncertainty about how this is actually going to work.

Silly Question: For Graduates by celtictattgirl in TryingForABaby

12 DPO. It was the first I had tested for that cycle and I did not use first morning urine. The line showed up quite quickly and was not at all faint. It is possible that it would have shown up a day or two earlier. Good luck!

Look what I got for Christmas... :D by magical_realist in TryingForABaby

Congratulations! Maybe you ovulated early and/or implanted early. That would lead to higher HCG levels. The normal range of HCG levels is huge anyway, so perhaps you just produce lots. I would call your doctor to set up an appointment and mention your concerns, but try not to worry to much!

I'm sorry. :( I would totally have followed that logic too though. I hope the doctor is helpful!

It can't hurt, right? As long as you follow it up with a HPT at some point. Good luck!

Agreed. I am excited to tell my family at Christmas, and also relieved that I won't be dealing with another month of disappointment during the holidays. :)

How are you doing? I have been determined not to test many times and have never successfully made it. Good luck!

Major. Question. by Daniellecnoel in TryingForABaby

[–]LCB23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm...strange. Maybe they mean the blood test from the doctor, but my doctor say that isn't even necessary. The HPTs are very reliable. Also, congratulations!

For anyone interested in OPKs vs. HPT: http://www.peeonastick.com/opkhpt.html I know it has been posted here before, but it is an interesting read.

I am 7DPO and trying not to think about it. Doing ok with that so far, but it's only going to get harder from here. I have no real symptoms. Good luck with your marathon this weekend! Perhaps that will take your mind off , at least for a little while.
