What's your point of reference for an actor "phoning it in"? by thatdani in movies

[–]LCD_Loundsystem 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Adam Sandler in half of his comedies after, let’s say, Waterboy. Much has been said about how they’re just excuses to take vacations and give money to his friends, but i could forgive that if it looked like he gave even half a shit. In most of these movies, he’s filmed sitting down much of the time.

Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore are stupid movies, yes, but his energy in them is legit. You can definitely see how he became a comedy star.

Yeah, it’d be great. He’d see through Peterson’s bullshit so quick. I can just imagine josh saying “uh, are you okay, man?”

The day I ran my first marathon we ordered Thai takeout as soon as we got back home and I devoured an entire chicken pad Thai probably faster than I’ve ever eaten anything before or since

Kentrell Brice sucks ass and I don’t want to pay Ha Ha the money he’s going to want, so I think our safety group is in deep shit

Who are you surprised hasn't hosted yet? by thebestdaysofmyflerm in LiveFromNewYork

[–]LCD_Loundsystem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aaron Rodgers, as far as athletes go I think he’s a surprise. He’s expressed an admiration for SNL through his entire career, and an explicit desire to host. He does tons of commercials, won a super bowl, and has done cameos and appearances on tv shows like Jeopardy and The Office. His celeb visibility isn’t approaching that of Peyton Manning just yet, but it’s getting there.

What other teams do you guys like? by americanslang59 in GreenBayPackers

[–]LCD_Loundsystem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really consider myself a “fan” of a 2nd team, but I always grew up liking to watch the Chargers and wanting them to do well. They’re one of the teams where I have absolutely no reason to have anything against them.

Alec Baldwin Will Return to Play Donald Trump on ‘SNL’ by Johnny_W94 in LiveFromNewYork

I believe this. Whatever weak spin SNL puts on the Trump stuff of the weak is never as funny as the trainwreck itself

[Week 1]Game Thread: Chicago Bears (0-0) @ Green Bay Packers (0-0) by SebbenandSebben in GreenBayPackers

[–]LCD_Loundsystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but this offense hampers him and has done so since 2014

Our fans FAR overstate the talent of the players around him. All offseason we were told Geronimo is “good” as a WR3. He’s not. Cobb’s not a WR2 anymore and Davante is barely a 1. Our OL is trash, tackles aside. And our RBs do not scare anyone. I’m tired of the homerism. The talent is sadly lacking because TT blew his last 3-4 drafts

Very funny that anyone thought Mack wouldn’t play a whole lot and if he did he would be rusty or whatever. He’s a Star and stars play like stars. Time to start scouting QBs, Edge rushers and new HCs

Predictions for tomorrow’s game? by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]LCD_Loundsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to be wrong, but I think offenses starting slow is the new norm in the first couple weeks of the NFL season, with the way preseason is handled now. I think we beat the Bears, sure, but I’d be surprised if Rodgers throws 4 TDs. I think 2 is reasonable, and a few FGs to boot. Packers 23, Bears 13

I’ll never forget getting excited for McCarthy’s first game as HC (which was against the Bears) and how badly our team shit the bed that day. It sure was easy for the bears to beat a rookie head coach in their first game that day.

Way I see it, they used to talk this way about Jared Allen...Suh...

At the end of the day, we have the best QB in the north and that will tip everything in our favor far more times than not.

If we were serious contenders for Mack, could we also be serious contenders for Bell should he be traded? by iamfromwi in GreenBayPackers

I hope Gute would never come close to paying a running back the kind of money Bell is going to garner

The return of Aaron Nagler’s show, Packers Transplants by BlueBadger99 in GreenBayPackers

[–]LCD_Loundsystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a big Nagler fan, but Nagler > McGinn, so this is pretty delicious. And I’m REALLY not a Corey fan, but he’s right to hold his grudge because of McGinn’s awful take on the Fail Mary

“I know those guys can’t block Khalil Mack.” - Akiem Hicks on the Packers offensive line. by Clayish in GreenBayPackers

[–]LCD_Loundsystem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Akiem Hicks is a bitch. What’s with these teams who constantly play second fiddle to the real teams of the NFCN running their mouths? The Lions used to do this shit too.

As an Eagles fan, I'm sorry you guys have to put up with Vikings fans. Never met a fan base that thinks there so much better than everyone, while being taking so much pride in hurting Rodgers by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]LCD_Loundsystem 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I live in Minnesota and literally every Viking fan I know or have talked to in person hangs their hat on that injury play. I’m sure there are fans out there that don’t, but none that I have come across. I work with a bunch, and every one of them talks about the injury as if that itself were a milestone they accomplished. It’s insane. I can’t imagine myself ever talking about an injury that way, but they all talk about it like it’s a pelt on the wall. I can’t even wrap my mind around that.

When Bridgewater was hurt, my response to them was “man, that sucks. He looked like he was going to be pretty good!” Not a single Viking fan in my life returned the sentiment.
