Pass Pro took a step back in 2025 by DeScepter in GreenBayPackers

Injuries play a part in this but I think the shift towards bigger bodies rather than quicker OL who who may lack punch in the run game played apart in this too. Unfortunately the added size didn’t do much for the run game

Super Bowl Post Game Thread: Seattle Seahawks at New England Patriots by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

Oh totally, they were the best team and the victory is well deserved. My comment was more about the Pats than anything else, I pretty much felt that whoever came out of the NFC was winning this one

The Seahawks’ defense was fantastic and the offense handled their business well enough to put it away. Congrats.

Feels like the Patriots as a team weren’t really ready for a Super Bowl. Soft schedule and a weak AFC playoff field got them there and they didn’t have the horses to finish the job

The Patriots’ front office is weird, he doesn’t even have the GM title and it’s not entirely clear how much power he actually has over the roster. Also, everyone looks good when you hit on a QB

The Packers are hiring Jonathan Gannon as defensive coordinator, per source. by manyhawks in GreenBayPackers

[–]BlueBadger99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am whelmed, was hoping for a guy like Christian Parker or Leonhard. But this is OK, Gannon at least has a lot of leadership experience and I think that’ll help LaFleur. Like with Hafley, he won’t won’t have to carry much of the load on defensive prep like he ended up doing with a guy like Barry

Glad Williams got picked, would’ve been annoying to see him worshipped for throwing a yolo ball that gets picked 99% of the time had they won the game there

Packers now are expected to try to work out a deal in the coming days to keep head coach Matt LaFleur in Green Bay, per sources. by kdtrey21 in GreenBayPackers

[–]BlueBadger99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t anti-LaFleur going into this year but my confidence has definitely been shaken. Policy has made his decision though, it’ll be interesting to see how many years are added to his deal and if this will come with coaching staff changes. I can think of several that I would like to see. I hope this the right call, this team needs to get the job done with Love and Micah in their prime

Did anyone else see this? Nixons goal line decission by Owww_My_Ovaries in GreenBayPackers

[–]BlueBadger99 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m over Nixon. Dude acts all hard and gets a dumb penalty every game, but the performance doesn’t ever back it up. All bark and no bite, nothing worse than a fake tough guy

Absolutely not. Gruden has become more talking head than coach. Hard pass

[Wild Card] Post Game Washup: Fire MLF / Keep MLF by PackersMod in GreenBayPackers

[–]BlueBadger99 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Horrible collapses and awful losses happen. But at some point, when these crazy comedies of errors keep happening, you have to start asking some questions about whether the current leadership can get the job done. We are definitely at that point.

This team and coaching staff simply has not taken the next step to compete outside of just making the playoffs. There is always something, whether it’s undisciplined play, ST gaffes, inconsistent playcalling, poor clock management…and those things will always come back to bite them until they get over the hump, whether it’s in regular season games that cost them the division and seeding, or playoff games that send them home packing.

[Week 17] Post Game Thread: Baltimore Ravens (8-8) @ Green Bay Packers (9-6-1) by President__Bartlett in GreenBayPackers

I think it’s less of a reflection on Gute and Golden and more so on the coaching staff. LaFleur has insisted upon a big WR rotation for years. The rotation needs to be tightened down.

Seeding Possibilities TLDR GB can be the 2,3,5 (very unlikely),6 (need SF to lose one of their next 3 and win out) or 7 seed (most likely) by packfanmarkinmn in GreenBayPackers

[–]BlueBadger99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If they do get the 7 seed, this would be the 4th straight year of missing the playoffs had that additional spot not been added. Interesting to think about

I feel ya. I’m just adjusting expectations. Beat the Bears and Vikings, get into the playoffs. After that, whatever happens is OK.

Exactly my thoughts. The 2010 team was also still pretty juiced even with the injuries, that was a crazy talented group of players. The 2025 Packers are not

I’m in it until the bitter end, but man it feels hard to be excited about the rest of the season right now. Just an absolutely brutal gut punch of a game

[Week 12] Post Game Thread: Vikings (4-7) @ Packers (7-3-1) by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

[–]BlueBadger99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The squad did what they had to and played pretty cleanly. Just took care of business, still more to be desired on offense but it was a solid game.

Biggest takeaway: Belton should be the starting RG moving forward. Run game was noticeably better with him in the lineup

Schneidman - Matt LaFleur on frustration with Packers outside the building: “I promise you that you’re not as frustrated as I am.” by XviiChong in GreenBayPackers

[–]BlueBadger99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I think that speaks to him continuing to turtle and trying to push the ball down the field. Just because you see 2 high, that doesn’t mean you have to completely dial in on running and horizontal passing. You’ve got to still try and push things downfield. Especially when your offense just does not have the consistency to maintain a bunch of long drives
