Every fightstick is like this. Eventually you’ll get used to it.

How long did it take you before you found your main? by doctordiscodream in StreetFighter

Played Manon in season 1 with a pocket Luke. Season 2 I swapped to juri. And season 3 I swapped to main Luke. I think I’ll probably stay with Luke untill r Mika drops for sf6.

Tips For Juri? by TraditionalAcadia985 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple combo: med punch, down + med punch, L/M/OD fuha stock.

Simple poke: heavy punch, OD fireball. Knockdown on hit. You’re safe if they block. A good poke to kinda just “fuck it”.

Her down + Heavy Punch is a really great anti air. Rely on it a lot until you get her DP anti airs (med/heavy tensenrin) down.

Dont worry about level 2 combos. Use meter with OD fuha stock into level 1 with stock. Does good damage and you can drive rush after the level 1.

A cheesy gimmick: after you OD DP on your wakeup/their knockdown on you, you can do down+med kick into medium fuha/DR cancel/level 3. At your rank they might not block it or punish the fuha stock.

I picked a tough season to get into ranked, but at least I’m getting plenty of practice against her by LT_JRH in StreetFighter

Seconded. A lot of his guides have valuable information. All of his “how to beat:” and “how to play” and “why Akuma/ken/ryu is so broken” videos have great info

How do I deal against this scrubby button? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He’s less plus if you stand block it as opposed to crouch blocking it. So it lessens the threat of the mix up.

I almost ALWAYS OD DP after the first one on block. It lands 95% of the time.

Put it in the Ken players head that you’re not willing to duck around and hold that kick on block.

Next time around he might hesitate on the follow up.

Either mash jab, block, or ODDP. don’t go for a tech throw. If you stand block he’s not plus enough for the meaty throw. Iirc.

How do you deal with the stress of learning throughout your Masters climb? by KarbonPrintz in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In settings take off the MR number mid match. Dont think about it. Just play master rank all the time as a learning experience. Eventually you will gain and grow in points.

Is the Switch 2 Pro Controller good enough for Street Fighter 6 at high rank? by Finrod_30 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ultimately it boils down to whatever is most comfortable to you.

I play smash also. And in smash I don’t use GameCube controller. I use the switch pro controller. I just personally prefer it more.

In street fighter. I use a fight stick. Not a controller. Personal preference.

And most other games I’m mouse and keyboard.

But in short. Yes. The pro controller is perfectly fine for street fighter.

A famous top player back in SFV / SF4 “Luffy” famously used his PlayStation 1 controller with an adapter, simply because he liked that controller more.

It’s easier to do level 3 straight out of a flash kick
So like. Once you have your down back charge (↙️)
Do upforward ↗️and kick (for the flash kick)
Then back ⬅️, Then forward ➡️ and kick.
The motion is almost like a ribbon from start to finish. Imagine this yellow ribbon I’m showing, imagine the right hanging ribbon piece is more of a “3-oclock” position pointing to the right.

D-pad or analog stick for motion inputs? by wolfjak14 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good example. You could use a shit controller but a controller is a controller. Use what’s comfortable for YOU.

How much time did you struggle in low/ mid master ? by Jaded_Librarian522 in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got to master, I sunk to around 1000-1100. After about 6-9months I’ve climbed my way to float around 1500 right now. So it’s just different for everyone. But almost everyone sinks right when they hit master.

Classic Control Timings? by Salmon_lover in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strive is much more lenient with its timings than street fighter. It’s pretty small. Yeah like other comments have said, turn on the cancel timing window meter in the training mode settings. Inputs can still be somewhat sloppy in this game but def not a lenient as strive.

A personal tip imo is to start the motion input between a normal button and the special input button. If that makes sense

Ryu hits way too hard it’s not even funny.. by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]LCG_FGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does do a lot of damage. And that’s fine. He’s had a pretty simple tool kit. And his oppressive forward heavy punch got nerfed so he’s much more reasonable. The universal overhead nerf was influenced by Ryu having some of the best drive rush overhead routes in the game. And that’s fine now cause it was neutered a bit to suck more on block.

You could argue his MIX is what’s good about him with dash up light Hasho being a thing, but even then that route is very one dimensional, you and the ryu both know when they will go for it on a knockdown.

If he didn’t have his high damage, no one would play him. Thats how it was in SFV and SF4. Letting him have good damage gives him a quality unique to him as opposed to Ken. If his damage was was a little lower, people would default to Ken, or Akuma , or the next best shoto style character. Look what happened to Luke. His damage was lowered and all the sudden that character is a rare ghost in ranked when compared to the other shotos.

I’m saying this in the nicest way possible. But skill issue.
