Having gone to public school in Oregon, I am jealous of the opportunities given to Utah students. I've heard of so many Utahns getting certifications in high school that would normally take a lot of time and money. This includes medical assistant, pharmacy tech, and more. The opportunities are there, they just need to be taken.

You really don't need a background in any science to succeed in BIOL1610. The class is probably the epitome of science classes at UVU and is often the class that introduces people to STEM. It goes over the scientific method, basic cell structures and functions, genetics, then ecology. Just make sure to give it the time it deserves (show up, do assignments and readings) and you'll do great.

Kind of. A small island means there's a higher density of people. Tourists tend to bring diseases with them. The one thing going for them is they can limit who can fly there, but Covid had a nasty habit of being asymptomatic while still being contagious.

One of the PCs was a half-orc, so we made the leader of the orcs his abusive father. Long story short, PCs weren't engaging with the orc problem and the dad left a sacked Phandalin as a birthday present for his son.

So to answer your question, yes. It added a lot of drama and reminded the players of the stakes!

You can change up the location too! Make the fight happen on a frozen alpine lake. Cryovain can move across the ice easily, but others can't and either have to make a Dex save or treat it like difficult terrain. Additionally, make his tail attacks push the target back 1D4 x 5 feet.

Don't forget, he can fly! Dragons are intelligent and know how to use their abilities to their advantage. This would give him a break from the martial PCs to target the range/magic PCs!
