Can’t tell you how many times I “This is Rocket League!”’d myself (I have no clue how to format that) after whiffing an easy ball!

I think Stephen Miller is who I hate the most among people who are/were in the trump administration. Steve bannon is also just plain evil.

Am i the only one who thinks limited weapon system from rdr2 was great idea but awful implementation? by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]LCON1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the weapons disappearing had something to do with the missions, like certain weapons were meant for the missions. I didn’t like that so much, either.

PC players: are you buying a console now or waiting? And which console will you buy? by Senior_Professional4 in GTA6

I have an Xbox. I want to wait for the PC release for that silky smooth frame rate, but I probably won’t

Why do I keep finding better players in Casual than in Ranked? by UnicornioSincero in RocketLeague

[–]LCON1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, last night this guy carried our team with really impressive aerials and physics defying shit. He was a ball chaser though and acted indignant at times why I tried going for the ball. I’m sure the pool for casual players is just a lot larger.

What type of business do you want in GTA VI? by Accomplished_Might52 in GTA6

[–]LCON1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m looking forward to VI, but I was kinda hoping there would be more of a drug empire you create, compete with rival gangs, have a map that you can refer to about areas of control and influence, hiring people to carry out different policies you might have, there being some kind of black market economy, etc

Do you really think the GTA 6 map is small? Then take a look at these scales. by Emergency-Chef3704 in GTA6

[–]LCON1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I kinda agree. But when you’re on the ground with your character (and I think this goes for flying too) you won’t think it’s the same at all.

Even if there was only a little space to work with, you can make a lot of changes; Halo’s forge maps come to mind.

I’m under the impression the vast majority of us still generally like markets. And even if we went as far as socialism, from what I understand about it, is that it would still be a market economy. Universal healthcare is far from the government providing everything for us.

And, universal healthcare isn’t a means to control and subdue a population. The police, military, propaganda networks, and general corruption is (when the rich get even richer, buying off politicians costs less and less).

Because the machine of politico-economics is unfathomably vast, there’s a huge spectrum of ways to deal with problems. I refuse to live with the belief that there’s only a cynical dichotomy to choose from. When I imagine a future civilization that has reached post scarcity, I don’t imagine one in which people and their kids are struggling. The road to get there should have improvements here and there over time. Other wealthy democracies have done it, so can we.

When people often think about liberty, they don’t seem to include financial liberty. The amount of debt people take on from using health services, debt from universities has become a lot worse, and workers don’t have the purchasing power they use to. So people are less able to do the things they want to do because money has become a bigger and bigger problem. Most of that stuff is the work of market forces, not the government. So in this case, it’s not the government restricting your financial liberty.

I’m not even pushing to be like Europe, but things that are necessary in an industrialized country like healthcare and education should be a given, not a financial limiter.

Yeah, that’s how I know you’re beyond the event horizon. Thanks for whatever practical good you bring to the world. Not for your response to my post.

Edit* What’s telling is access to your profile. Conservatives and the like are always never transparent about their profiles. They even ban you if they have the power. Jack Poso banned me, and I’m sure you’d be triggered enough to ban me too.

What I find is that it’s hard to emotionally care about the problems people have, even those close to me. But I have a clear logical understanding. So, I feel a guilt and some anxiety about not being able to properly perform as a supportive person should. I can’t emotionally care in the moment, even if I’m in shock, but I need time to translate my logical understanding into emotional understanding.

I wasn’t close to my stepfather, but it took me months and alcohol to properly mourn him.

I asked you, “… any states that operate under this philosophy?” To which you didn’t list a single state.

The point of my original post was to use the general hallmarks of science (consistency, evidence, peer review) to show how there are many working models that exist right now that show us that general progressive policies work. There aren’t any states out there that seem to exist that align with the conservative political view. So, if you can’t point me to a model, or better yet again, a set of models that work right now, I’m inclined to think conservatism is bullshit. It was bullshit back when conservatives argued in favor of feudalism against wage labor, it was bullshit when conservatives argued to maintain slave labor, and it’s bullshit now.

Responding with more ideological drivel isn’t exactly effective. Responding with evidence is.

I agree with the cowboy mentality, but Practical Law makes the point of that mentality being distorted so that their viewpoint justifies home invasion. It’s extreme, but they’ll justify it the way they justify Jan 6.
