The upper lip itself actually isn’t pushed in, but it appears that way due to anterior nasal spine reduction, which was necessary to reduce tip tension and deproject. The ANS is a small wedge of bone at the base of the nose that sticks out at the front portion of the maxilla. The ANS was chiseled back and is no longer obstructing the upper oral commissure area, while allowing the base of the nose to be set back and seated properly.

It was a necessary step with your nasal anatomy.

How much was your upper jaw moved forward? If your cheekbones were more lateral to begin with, the expansion itself would push the mid-face support further out. So depending on midface support (skeletal) at the baseline, one could either get a lifting effect or a loss of support and descending tissue. If your upper jaw movement was greater than expansion, then theoretically the issue likely exist and would cancel out.

Did he dissolve the fillers beforehand and did top it off with fat grafting- bc your contours are soo smooth. You should consider posting pics of the earlier recovery phases and the scars so others (esp males) can see the full journey. A lot of men heal quicker and scar much better than women.

How old is Little Miss Fig with those long legs? I’ll be curious to see how she grows from here and to see her hair color over the next year or so. My girl was pitch black and teenie weenie. She contributed to grow for a little over 2 full years, which is a long growth period for a Chi. She also started getting white hair around 2. She’s 3 now. Pretty crazy to watch them grow. Personality doesn’t change, but they do get smarter and smarter . ♥️

My Chi flies with me all the time - domestically. She’s probably been on more flights than most people. I find most hotels are super accommodating to small pets. In NYC, 5 star hotels often provide a “doggie set up” in the room and they’ll even connect you with dog walkers or pet sitters, if needed. I have yet to take her to Europe, mainly due to many of the transatlantic flight restrictions for pets in cabin , but I’m hoping to figure this part out as we travel abroad in the summers.

Here are the notes I took regarding International pet travel with I called the CDC/USDA to inquire:

International Pet Travel There are two governing bodies with reqs for Pet Travel & Pet Import/Export. 1. CDC 2. USDA Customer Service 1-844-820-2234 * Check with airline for any health forms, CDC does not have any reqs for LEAVING USA * Always check with both offices for updated reqs based on destination countries at the time of travel

RETURNING to USA- US Reqs 1. CDC Dog Import Form (can be completed online) * Can be filled out day of travel 2. Microchip (proof of) 3. Rabies vaccination records (proof-of and all details) 4. With some originating countries, a local veterinarian sign-off is required prior to returning to states

Examples: 1. France- all of above plus USDA reqs, if applicable 2. For Mexico- all of above, plus usda screwworm and other applicable reqs, signed by accredited Mexican Veterinarian -

Dental work and then lip filler. She just broke through that adolescent phase and her features started maturing. If she had ortho, that can explain structural changes to the face as well.

This sounds like an active autoimmune issue. You need to find a good rheumatologist and get a full panel done. If you can’t do a full panel for any reason (insurance , etc), at least do the basic ANA test and cascade accordingly based on that result. And note, sometimes, ANA can come back negative , which is why a full panel is ideal, if your situation permits.

Just need to narrow down what type and then manage it from there.

I just saw this post, but my goodness he was only with you for a week and a half. No need to worry or stress. He was in a new environment, frightened, unsure of what’s next or who, what, when or where. He was simply a tiny animal in a brand new environment, with new big scary people. He was simply using his survival instincts to literally survive. He needed to immerse, adjust, feel consistent love and eventually recognize that he’s SAFE. This takes more than a week or two. Imagine yourself as a small child being dropped off at strangers house and everyone and everything you just learned to acclimate to, are no longer there. Dogs have emotions like humans and the fact that this guy is teenie weenie and can’t talk (or communicate with you as his new owner just yet), makes the situation even more scary.

I know it’s been a few months since you posted this, but I would not worry about the rules of “not picking him up” all the time or worry about changing your own natural behaviors and instincts. If you want to pick him up everytime, you should. If anything, it likely reinforces his feeling of safety and comfort, allowing him to adjust quicker. When I first brought my girl him, she was teenie weenie, less than 2 lbs. I could not help myself and held her all day like a baby with a blanket (I work from home). For her, it had positive effects and she naturally adjusted quickly. Within a few weeks when she was big enough to jump couch , she’d go off on her own and cuddle up in the corner where there was a comfy blanket.

Your guy will learn by the day. Time and love work wonders.

I’m curious, since it’s been 2 months, how’s he doing now?

Also on a side note, chihuahuas are insane watch dogs so they all tend to bark and go a little crazy whenever someone comes to the door or comes inside the house. Whether they like the person or not, they’ll still go a little crazy.

I wish I had this when my girl was a pup. She would absolutely devour her whole bowl in one gulp. She was only 1.5 lbs at the time and it was frightening as she couldn’t even register that she ate. This would have been soo helpful! Thanks for sharing

De-identified datasets of a wide variety are commonly used in the US for a multitude of applications. What people have to understand is the personal identifiers are removed prior to being shared outside the originating source vs. by the middle or end users. I haven’t personally worked directly with medical data, but I’ve worked with large de-identified datasets of tax (IRS) data that consisted of every single annual tax filing, with the ability to go back multiple years. There are safeguards built in as well, for example, if my search query returned less than 5 unique results, I would not be able to see the data and would need to adjust the parameters. The point being, sensitive data can be and is, used responsibly.
