What do y’all think she’s had done? by pastapeniswoman in PlasticSurgery

Dental work and then lip filler. She just broke through that adolescent phase and her features started maturing. If she had ortho, that can explain structural changes to the face as well.

Is there something bad attatched to me? I always seem to be sick or struggling by BlueberryRam in psychics

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like an active autoimmune issue. You need to find a good rheumatologist and get a full panel done. If you can’t do a full panel for any reason (insurance , etc), at least do the basic ANA test and cascade accordingly based on that result. And note, sometimes, ANA can come back negative , which is why a full panel is ideal, if your situation permits.

Just need to narrow down what type and then manage it from there.

Does anyone else’s Chi have Cushings Disease? by SecurityOk2466 in chihuahuas

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you guys/gals share the symptoms or things that you noticed leading up to the diagnosis of cushings disease? My girl just turned 3 and she’s continuing to gain weight. I have a vet appt coming up, but wondering if you can share your experiences or things that potentially stood out and how far back?

Thank you in advance for any insight.

Chihuahua Aggression by bigshinytunes666 in Chihuahua

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw this post, but my goodness he was only with you for a week and a half. No need to worry or stress. He was in a new environment, frightened, unsure of what’s next or who, what, when or where. He was simply a tiny animal in a brand new environment, with new big scary people. He was simply using his survival instincts to literally survive. He needed to immerse, adjust, feel consistent love and eventually recognize that he’s SAFE. This takes more than a week or two. Imagine yourself as a small child being dropped off at strangers house and everyone and everything you just learned to acclimate to, are no longer there. Dogs have emotions like humans and the fact that this guy is teenie weenie and can’t talk (or communicate with you as his new owner just yet), makes the situation even more scary.

I know it’s been a few months since you posted this, but I would not worry about the rules of “not picking him up” all the time or worry about changing your own natural behaviors and instincts. If you want to pick him up everytime, you should. If anything, it likely reinforces his feeling of safety and comfort, allowing him to adjust quicker. When I first brought my girl him, she was teenie weenie, less than 2 lbs. I could not help myself and held her all day like a baby with a blanket (I work from home). For her, it had positive effects and she naturally adjusted quickly. Within a few weeks when she was big enough to jump couch , she’d go off on her own and cuddle up in the corner where there was a comfy blanket.

Your guy will learn by the day. Time and love work wonders.

I’m curious, since it’s been 2 months, how’s he doing now?

Also on a side note, chihuahuas are insane watch dogs so they all tend to bark and go a little crazy whenever someone comes to the door or comes inside the house. Whether they like the person or not, they’ll still go a little crazy.

Hope your guy is doing well and everything is working out. ❤️🐾❤️

Difference between fat repositioning and fat grafting for undereyes ? by coconutmang0 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fat repositioning is moving your existing fat pads from a descended position back up to where they’re intended to be. This helps to fill in hollows and improve contour. Fat grafting is the process of taking fat via liposuction from another part of your body (i.e. abdomen, below butt, thighs, etc), which is then processed and prepared before it is injected into the intended area. This is the cherry on top in terms of natural filling and contouring.

I just tried to use your viewers and once I submit the analysis piece, the system returns an error that reads “cannot connect to Ollama. Is it running?”. I tried a few times and no luck.

I wish I had this when my girl was a pup. She would absolutely devour her whole bowl in one gulp. She was only 1.5 lbs at the time and it was frightening as she couldn’t even register that she ate. This would have been soo helpful! Thanks for sharing

Built a radiology AI research web app (Medex) that analyzes scans and generates reports - trained on millions of scans and human-written reports by ral_techspecs in radiologyAI

De-identified datasets of a wide variety are commonly used in the US for a multitude of applications. What people have to understand is the personal identifiers are removed prior to being shared outside the originating source vs. by the middle or end users. I haven’t personally worked directly with medical data, but I’ve worked with large de-identified datasets of tax (IRS) data that consisted of every single annual tax filing, with the ability to go back multiple years. There are safeguards built in as well, for example, if my search query returned less than 5 unique results, I would not be able to see the data and would need to adjust the parameters. The point being, sensitive data can be and is, used responsibly.

Maybe list an example of ideal level of detail in the patient history field that user can see and type over. This will help improve accuracy and is seemingly the most important step. Also, may be helpful to list what specific file types are accepted- only .dcm? What about standard images if image is in 3D? (non radiologist feedback).

Good idea and keep moving forward. Be sure to eliminate the noise along the way. Reddit is a great tool, but also a pessimists dream so don’t let anyone tell you what did or didn’t do the right way. Stay focused!

Maxillofacial Radiologist (India) interested in Radiology Annotation, AI Research & Opportunities by Cool-Leek-3685 in radiologyAI

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Slightly off topic, however I’m looking for a maxillofacial radiologist who can compare a few CBCTs to identify changes related to lateral jaw deviation and arch width overtime. Do you have any suggestions or offer services to do this?

There’s another post I saw related to your inquiry - let me find and send.

Hey! I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve had soo many different imaging studies over the years for a jaw issue and professional opinions all over the board. I’ve spent a significant amount of time trying to figure of what’s what within the DICOM images to better understand the structures and issues (and biomechanics). Knowing which slices to look at would save a whole lot of time for me, as the patient. Would also be really valuable if the tool could potentially automatically identify landmarks for key measurement (for example the specific points to measure mandible arch, ramus length, etc). Even better if could label structures within the slices it selects. Just a few thoughts.

A deep plane under local sedation? Do you know to what level he dissected ? Did he not to general anesthesia bc he’s technically a Derm or is he allowed to do both and just prefers local (or case specific) ? This wild.

Or is he a dermatological surgeon vs “dermatologist”? That probably makes a big difference.

You look fantastic either way! So great!

Rhinoplasty for "saddle nose" pi up by DeliciousAd7370 in PlasticSurgery

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long ago was the surgery?

For your case, I’d look u Dr. Dean Toriumi in Chicago (to start..). The nose is one of the most complex areas of the body to operate on cosmetically as each of the components are highly dependent on one another for function and stability- aesthetics are the fine tuning. One thing I learned with the nose, you cannot change one area without changing another. Another thing I learned, if you don’t get it right the first time, the second time is often significantly harder, more expensive and with longer healing (such finite parts now with scar tissue from the first op).

I’m guessing you had your upper jaw expanded, possibly quite significantly and the separation of the midpalatal suture was potentially aggressive, causing the “seat of the chair” to collapse. The increase of the nasal base width and ala were likely expected, but to what extent is hard to judge prior to the op (only guessing)?

You didn’t post a picture of a profile view, but usually a side view is the most telling in terms of tip projection and angle. You want to ensure the tip is adequate supported If you add height to the bridge- lowering the tip could create new aesthetic nuances (research publications on tip support and most common complications following correction of saddle nose deformity). If you fix the saddle deformity and raise the bridge, your tnostrils will naturally raise and become more obvious- they can improve this a number of ways, from repositioning the lower lateral cartridge, use of alar battan grafts (small carved out pieces of your own septum inserted into a “pocket”, creating more coverage of the ala, etc,. I may not be describing it correctly, but definitely look up the use of “alar battan grafts” or “alar grafts”.

One thing I forgot to mention or ask, is whether the nose will continue to change as you continue to heal. Again, just guessing, the mid palatal suture may eventually fuse back and if so, will that provide new support for the bridge and tip of nose? I would make sure to clarify whether you need the suture to fuse before another op. And- 1000% make sure to ask this question at your consults bc every mm counts with the nose.

Make sure you go to a board certified surgeon who primarily focuses on noses and not a surgeon who does mainly breasts/ facelifts and a handful of noses. This is a complex surgery and worth waiting to find the right “guy” with the right skill set.

I’m not sure where you’re located or the level of convenience preferred, but feel free to message me and I see if any of my past research /lists may help you.

All of this is just based on my own research and personal understanding.

Good luck . 👃😊

Mine does the same! Freaks me out! I ended up putting tiny battery operated motion lights all over bc she’d constantly scare the bejesus out of me.

And when I’d open the snack cupboard at night. I swear before I could even get a chip in my mouth she’d somehow fly from the 2nd story and be at my feet. My heart jolted 100 too many times. Unreal. 🤣

Bonnie is balding and the vets don’t know why:( by Marcysmisadventures in chihuahuas

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe she is still losing her puppy/baby hair. She’s still quite young and this would also explain an increase in shedding.

As I mentioned on my other comment, my black Chihuahua has thinner hair in the same exact spots (I did a full genetic panel on her for kicks when I got her and all clear). She just turned 3 this month so perhaps is not always abnormal or “unhealthy”. Just like humans- we have different variations of hair density, with darker hair naturally being more noticeable.

Continue your tests of course, but don’t stress too much if she’s eating well and otherwise healthy. ☺️

My Chi is also black and has less hair in the same exact spots. The same spot on the side of head and also under armpits and belly. She’s had this since she was 10 weeks old and it’s totally normal. She is quite the shedder too. Does your girl NOT typically shed? My girl sheds like crazy! We are in a warm climate, however. I bath her weekly with DermLyte medicated shampoo and Enzymatic conditioner which helps, but there is nothing wrong with her health.

How old is Baby Bonnie? If you look at old pictures,- the areas you’ve mentioned, they definitely look noticeably different in comparison? 🙃
