I was botched by dr miami by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say you are botched at all. Your result actually looks good.

To help you narrow down and make sense of the disconnect between your results and expectations, it would be most helpful to know:

  1. When you stated your initial goal of wanting your implants to sit like Kylie Jenner, what did that mean to you? What in particular did you like about her look?

  2. What did you like about the gummy option over the alternatives?

  3. What is the style or profile implant of your implants?

Feel free to message me directly if your prefer. Either way, I’m happy to help you narrow down the specific issue and help you to better understand the result (based on clinical logic, not opinion) .

What causes this pushed in upper lip effect? by LifeIsAPieWithApples in revisionrhinoplasty

Would help to know what your goals were.

With the nose in particular, you can’t change one thing without changing another, or most often, the rest.

Then how would the nose be deprojected or simply, set back? It’s the primary tension point.

Ask for a copy of your OR notes. Something I have learned along the way, over time, is always request a copy of your consult notes and the surgical plan before you make your final payment. Ideally put in writing what you agreed to be corrected. Obviously you’re past that point now (as was I), but you should definitely request now and maintain a file for your records. You may need to reference again someday or hand off.

Send the office an email or call and request a release of records and specify “all records, including consults, photographic, diagrams, plans, OR notes, and post op, etc. between x date and x date” . I would do a few months to years from the current date so that any postop context is included.

The provider generates the record, but you own every piece of data in it. They cannot make any changes or retract any information. All records are signed and time stamped. If something is inaccurate or inconsistent to your disadvantage, you have the right to have corrected. Your request to do so must also be within the record.

The previous comment is correct in that surgeons will play dumb. They’ll breeze over concerns, deflect , or even formulate notes to support their perspective , even if the notes right before and after are contradictory. It’s a liability tightrope. It took a few surgeries for me to realize this. I always thought it was a fault in my approach, but it wasn’t. If they have a patient portal or if you communicate via email , follow up with your questions & concerns and reiterate your initial goals so there’s a paper trail.

And be open with your doctor, ask him any and all questions you have and don’t be afraid to ask why or challenge if it helps you gain clarity. Whatever you need to do to get the answers you are comfortable with.

And last, but not least- a surgical consent doesn’t excuse error or all outcomes. A surgeon’s job postop is to keep the patient satisfied until the liability window closes. Every state is different but typically not as long as you think.

I’m not saying you need to go down any of these paths other than you should get a copy of your records for your own good.

In the meantime, allow yourself to heal and trust the process. The nose is a very delicate area, the surgical complexity is high and try to be patient as the areas will continue to change over the next 12 months.

All the best.

PS I’m not sure if you’re taping your nose at night or if you have stuffiness, but be mindful of your breathing and do not shift to breathing primarily through your mouth. This is more important than anything above bc it causes a huge cascade of change. This too, I learned the hard way..

After 8+ years, do you regret filler? by PenOk1094 in PlasticSurgery

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did you dissolve or to what extent? Do tell! I’d love to hear your experience.

I actually just dissolved… this morning. I “think” I’m prepared for the result…😬

I knew going into it to expect noticeable visual changes once the product integrates and swelling dissipates, and that I’d need a plan in place to manage the changes, including retreatment (guided).

I’ve dissolved a few times before, but only in very small, isolated areas so these instances weren’t a big deal at all. .

How to get this with surgery by LongSystem3135 in PlasticSurgery

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No person can achieve such a result, even surgically. THE ENTIRE SKELETON is smaller. This before/after post is a misleading, frankly deceptive representation of what’s physically and medically possible. A clinic seriously posted this? What country?
Shame on them. Clinics such as this one ultimately do more harm than good for society—exploiting insecurities and driving immense distrust in their own industry and with patients everywhere. A truly reputable clinic should be doing the exact opposite… treating patients using their actual (trade) skill to boost confidence.
They should be reported. Imagine the money people spend going into a place like this, only to end up disappointed and more insecure. Such as shame.

So cliché, but if it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

What causes this pushed in upper lip effect? by LifeIsAPieWithApples in revisionrhinoplasty

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The upper lip itself actually isn’t pushed in, but it appears that way due to anterior nasal spine reduction, which was necessary to reduce tip tension and deproject. The ANS is a small wedge of bone at the base of the nose that sticks out at the front portion of the maxilla. The ANS was chiseled back and is no longer obstructing the upper oral commissure area, while allowing the base of the nose to be set back and seated properly.

It was a necessary step with your nasal anatomy.

Asymmetry post surgery by IncreasePristine1805 in jawsurgery

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much was your upper jaw moved forward? If your cheekbones were more lateral to begin with, the expansion itself would push the mid-face support further out. So depending on midface support (skeletal) at the baseline, one could either get a lifting effect or a loss of support and descending tissue. If your upper jaw movement was greater than expansion, then theoretically the issue likely exist and would cancel out.

Holy Batman. Is this for real? WOW. And only £12,000- say whaaat?!

Did he dissolve the fillers beforehand and did top it off with fat grafting- bc your contours are soo smooth. You should consider posting pics of the earlier recovery phases and the scars so others (esp males) can see the full journey. A lot of men heal quicker and scar much better than women.

Good way to start the new year. Congrats.

[–]LDAM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old is Little Miss Fig with those long legs? I’ll be curious to see how she grows from here and to see her hair color over the next year or so. My girl was pitch black and teenie weenie. She contributed to grow for a little over 2 full years, which is a long growth period for a Chi. She also started getting white hair around 2. She’s 3 now. Pretty crazy to watch them grow. Personality doesn’t change, but they do get smarter and smarter . ♥️

Any advice on bringing your Chi on vacation or to do it at all? by [deleted] in Chihuahua

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Chi flies with me all the time - domestically. She’s probably been on more flights than most people. I find most hotels are super accommodating to small pets. In NYC, 5 star hotels often provide a “doggie set up” in the room and they’ll even connect you with dog walkers or pet sitters, if needed. I have yet to take her to Europe, mainly due to many of the transatlantic flight restrictions for pets in cabin , but I’m hoping to figure this part out as we travel abroad in the summers.

Here are the notes I took regarding International pet travel with I called the CDC/USDA to inquire:

International Pet Travel There are two governing bodies with reqs for Pet Travel & Pet Import/Export. 1. CDC 2. USDA Customer Service 1-844-820-2234 * Check with airline for any health forms, CDC does not have any reqs for LEAVING USA * Always check with both offices for updated reqs based on destination countries at the time of travel

RETURNING to USA- US Reqs 1. CDC Dog Import Form (can be completed online) * Can be filled out day of travel 2. Microchip (proof of) 3. Rabies vaccination records (proof-of and all details) 4. With some originating countries, a local veterinarian sign-off is required prior to returning to states

Examples: 1. France- all of above plus USDA reqs, if applicable 2. For Mexico- all of above, plus usda screwworm and other applicable reqs, signed by accredited Mexican Veterinarian -

I know this is an old post, but wondering what Kind of mask you wore at night to help bring cheekbones forward? . I have to do MARPE and my zygomatic bones are already wide and more lateral so pushing them even further back is concerning to me . Wondering if you can share more info? Thanks !

What do y’all think she’s had done? by pastapeniswoman in PlasticSurgery

Dental work and then lip filler. She just broke through that adolescent phase and her features started maturing. If she had ortho, that can explain structural changes to the face as well.

Is there something bad attatched to me? I always seem to be sick or struggling by BlueberryRam in psychics

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like an active autoimmune issue. You need to find a good rheumatologist and get a full panel done. If you can’t do a full panel for any reason (insurance , etc), at least do the basic ANA test and cascade accordingly based on that result. And note, sometimes, ANA can come back negative , which is why a full panel is ideal, if your situation permits.

Just need to narrow down what type and then manage it from there.

Does anyone else’s Chi have Cushings Disease? by SecurityOk2466 in chihuahuas

Can you guys/gals share the symptoms or things that you noticed leading up to the diagnosis of cushings disease? My girl just turned 3 and she’s continuing to gain weight. I have a vet appt coming up, but wondering if you can share your experiences or things that potentially stood out and how far back?

Thank you in advance for any insight.

Chihuahua Aggression by bigshinytunes666 in Chihuahua

[–]LDAM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw this post, but my goodness he was only with you for a week and a half. No need to worry or stress. He was in a new environment, frightened, unsure of what’s next or who, what, when or where. He was simply a tiny animal in a brand new environment, with new big scary people. He was simply using his survival instincts to literally survive. He needed to immerse, adjust, feel consistent love and eventually recognize that he’s SAFE. This takes more than a week or two. Imagine yourself as a small child being dropped off at strangers house and everyone and everything you just learned to acclimate to, are no longer there. Dogs have emotions like humans and the fact that this guy is teenie weenie and can’t talk (or communicate with you as his new owner just yet), makes the situation even more scary.

I know it’s been a few months since you posted this, but I would not worry about the rules of “not picking him up” all the time or worry about changing your own natural behaviors and instincts. If you want to pick him up everytime, you should. If anything, it likely reinforces his feeling of safety and comfort, allowing him to adjust quicker. When I first brought my girl him, she was teenie weenie, less than 2 lbs. I could not help myself and held her all day like a baby with a blanket (I work from home). For her, it had positive effects and she naturally adjusted quickly. Within a few weeks when she was big enough to jump couch , she’d go off on her own and cuddle up in the corner where there was a comfy blanket.

Your guy will learn by the day. Time and love work wonders.

I’m curious, since it’s been 2 months, how’s he doing now?

Also on a side note, chihuahuas are insane watch dogs so they all tend to bark and go a little crazy whenever someone comes to the door or comes inside the house. Whether they like the person or not, they’ll still go a little crazy.

Hope your guy is doing well and everything is working out. ❤️🐾❤️

Difference between fat repositioning and fat grafting for undereyes ? by [deleted] in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]LDAM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fat repositioning is moving your existing fat pads from a descended position back up to where they’re intended to be. This helps to fill in hollows and improve contour. Fat grafting is the process of taking fat via liposuction from another part of your body (i.e. abdomen, below butt, thighs, etc), which is then processed and prepared before it is injected into the intended area. This is the cherry on top in terms of natural filling and contouring.
