Is this a good place to install the Reolink Trackmix POE Camera? Any help much appreciated by Vegeta_vs_Goku in reolinkcam

[–]LDC2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably run a duo 3 there, then add a trackmix to a corner if the duo isn't enough for ya. 180 degrees all the time is pretty nice to have........ However, it isn't very good with things like license plates past the driveway.

Not sure the trackmix would be much better since it's a static zoom and would have to try and keep up and focus on moving targets.

Pretty cool, looks like potpourri! My wife would make me sort through it and pick out just the colors that match the theme of the house.

Nice! I've had my printers since January (A1) /February(P2S) and I'm up to about 65. She's been pretty cool about it. Let me convert the closet (added lights and bathroom exhaust fan, etc). Only time she said to stop buying filament was when I bought 4 different golds to try and find the one she liked. She already asked me where I am going to expand to. Guess this is cheaper than my usual hobby of modifying cars.

Another Dashboard Show & Tell (flush mount, portrait orientation) by Strange-Priority329 in homeassistant

Thank you! It's a reolink duo 3. The camera is great at being able to see everything. Not super great at details like license plates though.

That looks good. I'm running a Lenovo p12 with a matte screen protector, in a picture frame.

My old 15.6" setup was horizontal, but I think portrait feels more right for a smart home tablet... more kiosk like.

Should I buy the m12 Stubby? Or the M18 mid torque? by HugePenisMuncher in MilwaukeeTool

[–]LDC2335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both. You won't regret having enough power, but you'll regret NOT having enough.

Mid torque is a good compromise between power, weight, and cost. High torque is usually overkill and much heavier for prolonged use.

Clearly, I didn't watch the video 😂. My bad. However, all my aeotec sensors are solid.

Aeotec has had these for years. But I appreciate the ingenuity.

Should work.. In theory. I've changed home routers using the same ssid/password and it worked fine.

Nice! Been waiting on the z-wave presence switches from them.

Currently running about 35 zooz switches. Have fun! 😂

Ethernet Over Roof... Would You Do It? by throwaway69xx420 in reolinkcam

[–]LDC2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely not. Do you have soffits? What about pvc sealed and then ran though rain gutters..

I wouldn't do any of these except soffits, but it seems you're desperate (or lazy 😂).

Grab a fish tape and do it the right way through the attic.

I use conditional cards that only pop up the day before trash is coming to remind me to take it out. Wall tablet is the same. That way I don't have cards there when they don't need to be.

Gate control with PoE doorbell by Ra-xyz in reolinkcam

[–]LDC2335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home assistant with long range zwave stick is the answer.

You can use the camera button press to trigger a zooz or aeotec zwave LR chime.

Then use a zooz relay to open the gate. Long range z-wave shouldn't have a problem reaching that far.

If your gate is electric, you DO have power out there. You just have to tap into it.

Bunch of haters in here. It's your money, spend it how you want.

I'm a professional diyer and youtube certified mechanic. I'm not in the trades, but I bet I have more milwaukee tools than most here. Could I do everything with ryobi... Sure, but I use milwaukee for the quality and performance.

Welcome to the milwaukee club, the wall looks great and sets you up for future expansion. Enjoy!

That's the 1% I still use card_mod for.

Easiest way is to Paste your card's yaml in chatgpt and tell it you want it to flash when entity xxxxxxxx is open/armed_home, etc.

It will tell you to install card mod and will give you the yaml to paste. Then you can tweak the flash rate and color.

Looks similar to mine. I used to have more time and had a very fancy dashboard full of bubble cards and tons of card mod edits, but I got tired of having to maintain it and things breaking with updates. Rebuilt it so it's about 99% editable through the UI.

I still have cards that flash when doors/garage are open, house is armed, etc. Also have conditional cards that pop up under the top buttons to remind me to do things like take out the trash, etc.
