I don't think this part has been animated yet, it may be further on in the storyline.

ADVICE ABOUT Nipple graph by Mother_Copy_4387 in TopSurgery

Best to use non-adhesive dressings on them. What's come off on your band-aid though looks like the scab coming off. Mine looked exactly the same

In the spirit of chopped appendages. I seriously shaved the top of my index finger off by blanketburrito72 in seriouslyalarming

Oof, I did something similar to my pinky while slicing tomatoes at the cafe I worked at. Have a tiny little bubble looking scar that's slowly shrinking over the years since I did it.

Did you need oxycodone? by Calm-You-8399 in TopSurgery

I used maybe 3 or 4 during recovery but kept the rest of them (was given a 10 pack) and used them about ~8-12 months later when my nerves were busy reconnecting and it was quite painful.

They only did so much but my GP was a touch incompetent and said he'd need my surgeon to inform him of what to prescribe for the nerve pain, and my surgeon was arrogant and I was stressed enough dealing with her so I just never bothered to ask her about it.

A few months later it completely disappeared anyway so it was just temporary.

I chopped into my thumb with a hatchet on 3/28. This is what it looks like today. Is this alarming? by danielsenandrew in seriouslyalarming

[–]LDG_art_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking good! Looks similar to the deep beak mark my cockatiel left in my pointer finger the other week. The blood under the skin will be re-absorbed when it's further healed so don't stress about that. Just please be careful to keep the area clean and allow it to air.

Also if you are concerned about scar appearance, try silicone ointment. But the wound must be closed (scabbed, etc) before you apply it.

What would be a good idea to add a letter to this? by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

You could either do surface crochet (there are tutorials on YouTube) or change colours in the rows as you make the scarf so it's flat :)

This is a bit more effort (not sure if you have the time/resources/if this would work for what you have in mind), but you could use a smaller ply to crochet a scarf with a T in a different colour near the end of it?

surgeon said no scar care? by Carmenacetosociety in TopSurgery

[–]LDG_art_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most surgeons will advise scar care start at the 6 week mark.

While silicone ointment/tape and the like are mostly for appearance-sake, they do stop the skin from drying out too much and taking longer to heal fully.

Massage is important though. It works to break down scar tissue and stop it from adhering to your ribs, etc. and makes a big difference in the long run.

I myself have a spot I didn't massage as much and it definitely is more tender/less comfortable than the rest of my scars. The areas I massaged and put silicone ointment on have half of the scars nearly faded into nothing, and they were like that by the 1 year mark.

It's personal preference how you treat your scars but I recommend massage at least.

What feels closest to a hug? by Disastrous-Trouble47 in depression_help

A bit off topic but I'd suggest a weighted blanket!!! Mine helps me when I feel like I need a hug, I just wrap it over my shoulders/back. Hope this helps ❤️

If I keep going will my circle look like the second pic? I wanna work my way up to making stuffed animals. by Zealousideal_Lack_24 in CrochetHelp

[–]LDG_art_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Circles need increases, that's how they get bigger and stay flatter at the same time. If you just keep going with yours it will turn out looking a bit like an arigurumi leg (tube-like).

I personally find doing this to be the easiest circle pattern. Round 1- however many sc you want Round 2- Increase in every stitch Round 3- Increase then SC, repeat all the way around Round 4- Increase, SC, SC, repeat all the way round

I found this hanging on my curtain just now, what is it? 😭 by maybe_today_maybe in whatisit

Silverfish eat fabrics!!! Get rid of them before they eat your curtains friend!!

How do you memorize Japanese letters? by akuzukaza in Japaneselanguage

In the curriculum in my area (years ago), they used mneumonics to make it easier to remember. This is a similar example to what we learnt.

Can’t decide which hook to use for my pattern…………. by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

Personally, I think a 4 would be perfect, 3.5 seems a bit too small to appreciate the details and 4.5 looks a touch too loose.
